Systemair has an extensive range of ventilation products: fans including smoke
extract, tunnel and car park fans, explosion proof fans, air handling units
from large central units to small residential units with energy recovery, air
distribution products and fire dampers. These products are installed in a variety

Applications
Schools
In buildings for school, the load to be disposed is variable during the day due to the
presence of people only for some periods, thus it is mandatory to control the users
requirements during daily plant use. Systemair offers a wide range of equipment
suitable for this purpose, the fan coils with EC motors allow to obtain the required
flexibility.
Offices
In buildings for tertiary application, the air conditioning and the ventilation are
necessary during the day.
The heat loads to be removed are generally generated by people present, from the
lighting system, from solar radiation and by machines.
Normally it is necessary the use of chillers, Heat Pump to produce cold and/or hot
water to be sent to hydronic (fan coils, cassettes, ducted) to obtain an optimum air
conditioning of offices.
Commercial buildings
Normally the number of people varies continuously; the optimal solution would
be to use machinery for the conditioning with variable flow and with constant
monitoring of concentration of pollutants (VOC and CO2). Systemair products can
easily meet the plantʼs requirement .
Industry
Industrial plants generate a large amount of heat that must be dissipated in the
appropriate way. Systemair offers a wide range of products (chillers from 20 kW
to 1.680 kW) that can be readily integrated industrial installation. The chiller can be
used both for air conditioning and for the cooling equipment process (production of
chilled water up to -10°C).
Hotels
In the hotel rooms, it is needed a high level of comfort with the minimum impact with
respect to the noise level. Systemair ducted products equipped with EC motors fully
comply with requirements efficiency, cooling capacity and sound impact , required by
this type of installations.

The SYSPLIT air conditioner range are specifically
designed for small to medium sized areas, offering
the end user improved comfort and reducing drastically
the power consumption.
The expanded range of SYSPLIT air conditioners is of
superior performance and quality, providing more choice
for customers.
Our innovative products offer the ideal solution when you
need quiet and efficient room air conditioning to create
a comfortable environment.
In addition to Single Split systems, Systemair also offers
the SYSPLIT MULTI – an advanced range of inverter Heat
Pump Multi Split Systems with up to 5 indoor units of
different types that can be connected.
All SYSPLIT inverter systems utilise the non-ozone
depleting R410A refrigerant, which gives increased
system performance, increased energy-efficiency and
improved heat transfer, which results in smaller pipe sizes
and more compact indoor units.
The latest generation of SYSPLIT air conditioners are
among the most technically advanced and energyefficient systems available today.

Ecodesign regulation
ErP Directive 2009/125
The new regulation have been adopted by the European
Parliament to achieve the goals to reduce the power
consumption in Europe related to air conditioning business
and other home appliance as well as air-to-water heat
pump, air handling, ventilation etc.
With its strategic plan called “20/20/20”, Europe aims
to reduce the CO2 emissions by 20%, using 20% more
renewable energy and consuming 20% less primary
energy by 2020.
In order to facilitate the achievement of these objectives,
EU issued the ErP Directive that specifies the eco-design

products.
For split air conditioners with power less than 12 kW,
the minimum requirements are based on a new index
of seasonal efficiency and on the sound power level as
shown in the table below:

Measuring the performance in real conditions
The European Union requires the application of objective
metrics for measuring performance in order to establish
the minimum requirements and provide customers with
information regarding the performance of air conditioning
useful for their purchase.
The methodology used up to 2012 and based on the
efficiency rating (EER) – presents a significant difference
between the predicted and actual performance. For this
reason a more accurate method has beed designed: the
seasonal efficiency ratio (SEER).

Among the most significant changes it includes the
introduction of different operating temperatures for
cooling and heating, the possibility of use of energy both
at partial load and full load and power usage in standby
and off mode.
Considering that most systems operate mostly in partload conditions, the new methodology will allow to assess
better the performance of a unit in real conditions.

New energy classification
New energy classification in force from 1 January 2013
The transition to the concept of seasonal efficiency
involves the development of a completely new energy
label which shows the energy class based on the values
of SEER and SCOP and the main characteristics of the
product such as the sound power level of the indoor and
outdoor units.
Energy efficiency in heating is presented with three
different values according to the climate where the
product is installed. For the manufacturer of the product
is mandatory to indicate the values for the Temperate
climate (“Averge” heating value), those of the other two
climates are optional. The data and energy efficiency
classes are declared in accordance with EN14825.
The energy class shown in the new label, both in cooling
and in heating, can not be compared to the energy class
that had the old energy label as the latter was based on
specific indices (EER and COP) and not on seasonal indices
SEER and SCOP.

Cooling and heating operation down to -15 °C outdoor
temperature assures an operation all year round.
Self-diagnosis function continuosly monitors the
operation of the air conditioner and protects the system.
Refrigerant leakage detection can prevent the
compressor being damaged by refrigerant leakage or
compressor overload.
The cold catalyst filter effectively decomposes volatile
compounds and it has anti-bacteria effect. It is
washable and maintains the effect for long time.
With Turbo mode the unit will run with the ultra-high
speed for 20 minutes, reaching more quickly the setpoint temperature.
Hydrophylic aluminium fins of the indoor units improve
the heat exchange efficiency in cooling and heating

Self-diagnosis function continuosly monitors the
operation of the air conditioner and protect the
system.
Refrigerante leakage detection can prevent the
compressor being damaged by refrigerant leakage
or compressor overload.
The cold catalyst filter effectively decomposes
volatile compounds and it has anti-bacteria effect. It is
washable and maintains the effect for long time.
With Turbo mode the unit will run with the ultra-high
speed for 20 minutes to reach more quickly the
set-point temperature.
Hydrophylic aluminium fins of the indoor units improve
the heat exchange efficiency in cooling and heating
mode.

Features
SYSPLIT DUCT EVO air conditioners are designed using the
latest engineering solutions and allow their installation
with a minimum ceiling height.
Advanced DC inverter control for the compressor,
outdoor fan motor and indoor fan motor.
One indoor unit can serve several facilities through a
network of ducts to the high external static pressure.
Air conditioners are equipped with washable air filter.
Flexible air intake from the rear (factory standard), it
can be easily changed to bottom air intake using the
same flange plate.
The fresh air hole on the side of the unit makes easy
the connection to the external air intake.
Built-in drain pump can lift the condensate water up to
750 mm.
With the Auto-restart function the unit resumes with
the same settings before the electric power failure.
Environment friendly R410A refrigerant.

SYSVRF multi-zone solutions:
light commercial and commercial VRF systems
The SYSVRF modular systems are most valuable for room
space from 100 to 1000 sq.m. with large independence
of climatic zones - hotels, restaurants, retail, office
buildings, etc. Up to 4 modular outdoor units can be
combined in one single refrigerant system thus reaching
up to 200kW of cooling capacity and connecting up to 64
indoor units. In the same system they are able to fulfill
the increasing demands of air comfort still having low
operating costs.
All SYSVRF systems are equipped with DC Inverter
compressors and DC Inverter fans which gives enhanced
system performance and very low operating noise.
The new generation of 3-pipe systems are equipped with
all DC Inverter compressor which delivers outstanding
comfort pleasure and reduces tremendously the
electricity consumption.
SYSVRF of Systemair are available with different configurations: the typical heat pump Mini and Modular 2-pipe outdoor
units Air-cooled or Water-cooled and the superior Modular heat recovery 3-pipe units.

Multi-zone air conditioning system
VRF systems are most beneficial for space up to 15002000 sq.m. with large independence of climatic zones –
hotels, restaurants, retail space, office buildings, etc.
In the same system they are able to fulfill the increasing
demands of the parameters of air in each room and still
have low operating costs.
The most comfortable temperature
An important advantage of the multi-zone air-conditioning
is a smooth and rapid achievement of a comfortable
temperature, as well as maintaining the specified
parameters accurate to ± 0,5 °C. Such high performance
was achieved thanks to an accurate control of the
refrigerant flow and the mechanism of redistribution of
refrigerant between the several units, implemented with
the help of electronic expansion valves.
High energy efficiency
The efficiency of multi-zone systems is very high, because
each time the electric power is consumed as much as
necessary to carry out user requirements.
If the indoor units work only in a few areas of the building,
then the power consumption is reduced proportionally by
changing the refrigerant flow.
Low noise
Low noise of both outdoor and indoor units makes the job
a multizone system virtually inconspicuous.
A balanced lineup
The lineup of multizone VRF series are continuously
optimized. In response to market demands Systemair
offers several types and sizes of indoor units: wallmounted, cassette, floor-ceiling and duct.
Outdoor units Mini, despite the compact dimensions ,
solve different tasks of air conditioning on small objects.
Six modular outdoor units can be combined in one
refrigerant system thus reaching a total cooling capacity
of up to 200 kW.
Separately, to highlight the 3 Pipe heat recovery system
for indipendent and simultaneous cooling and heating
operation.

automation and control systems integrated with other
infrastructure building systems is continuously increasing.
These are exactly the principles on the basic of the
development of the control systems of Systemair.
In addition to the traditional control systems of air

Outdoor units of the SYSVRF Mini, Heat Pump and Heat Recovery series are compatible with all types of SYSVRF indoor
units. There are 10 different types of indoor units available with capacity from 1,5 kW to 28,0 kW, making the total number
of indoor units equal to 63 different types and capacities.
The ventilation function can be provided through the SYSVRF HRV units or through the combination of a Systemair air
handling unit with the control module SYSCONTROL AHU.

Features
The SYSCONTROL AHU 5HP, 10HP and 20HP can be used
to connect the SYSVRF outdoor units to an external DX
coil with capacity from 9 kW to 56 kW.
Nominal capacity in cooling 14kW (5HP), 28kW (10HP)
and 56kW (20HP).
Modulating cooling/heating capacity thanks to the
built-in Electronic Expansion Valve (EXV) controlled
by the superheat degree of the DX coil.
The SYSCONTROL AHU kit includes four temperature
sensors, one for the air intake of the AHU and three for
a precise monitoring of the DX evaporator coil.
For indoor installation in horizontal or vertical position.

Main functions: on/off, cool/heat/auto/dry/fan mode of the air conditioner,
temperature setting , fan speed selection (high/medium/low/auto), 24h on/off timer,
air flow/swing adjustment, air filter function, keyboard locking button.
Optional equipment for all series of SYSVRF indoor units. Specifically designed for
3-pipe SYSVRF HR systems with automatic cooling/heating changeover and adjustable
dead band. It can be used in 2-pipe SYSVRF HP systems. (Art. no. 314182).
Centralized controllers
Centralized controller SYSCONTROL CWC 03 HP/HR
Monitors and manages 64 indoor units. Main functions: on/off, setting modes
(including the lock mode), change temperature settings, fan speed selection, query
function and error code of indoor units LCD with backlight. Provides the ability to
connect to a PC via a converter RS485/RS232.
(Art. no. 314140) CWC 03 HP for 2-pipe SYSVRF HP.
(Art. no. 314183) CWC 03 HR for 3-pipe SYSVRF HR.
Centralized controller SYSCONTROL CWC 09
Monitors and manages 64 indoor units. Perform the same functions of the central
control SYSCONTROL CWC 03, with the possibility of drawing up management program
for the week. LCD with backlight it doesn't have the port for the connection to a PC.

Centralized monitoring of outdoor units SYSCONTROL CWC 02
Monitors up to 32 outdoor units which may be included in the 8 different VRF air
conditioning systems. When using a powermeter tra performs the accounting function
of electricity consumed. Ability to connect to a PC via a converter RS485/RS232. (Art.
no. 314142).

Intelligent Network Management System
Systemair multi-zone system can be integrated into a comprehensive building management system (BMS) thanks to the
Bacnet, Modbus or LonWorks gateway via SYSCONTROL CWC 08/CWC 11/CWC 64, respectively.
With the implementation of these gateway it is possible to use different control schemes: individual, group, network.
To one gateway Bacnet SYSCONTROL CWC 08 (Art. no. 314145) can be connected to up to 4 remote central control
(SYSCONTROL CWC 02 /SYSCONTROL CWC 03). Each group can contain a maximum of 64 indoor units/32 outdoor units.
