CHANGES
General
We have updated the Print dialog to reset the Number of copies field to 1 (rather than recalling the
previously used value) every time you print reports, billing invoices, or accounts receivable forms.
(Accounting CS Ideas Community #572)
Accounting
We have addressed an issue that caused an error to display during attempts to advance to the next page
in the Actions > Enter Trial Balance screen.
Accounts Receivable
We have addressed an issue that prevented the application from deleting customer records.
Accounting CS Client Access

We have updated the Client Access Processing Notifications portlet to display notifications when the
client finalizes a bank reconciliation or adds a note to a transaction in Accounting CS Client Access.


We have made the following changes to the Client Access Services section of the Add Client dialog
and the Add/Remove Services dialog (accessed by clicking the Ellipsis button in the Services section
of the Setup > Clients screen).
 We have added the Limit payroll to: Time Entry checkbox to enable your clients to enter payroll
data via the Actions > Enter Batch Payroll Checks screen and still let you retain the ability to
impound payroll funds and maintain control over printing checks and processing direct deposit
files. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #556)
 We have renamed the Payroll setup only checkbox to Limit payroll to: Setup checkbox. (The
functionality of the checkbox is unchanged.) If you mark both this checkbox and the Limit payroll
to: Time Entry checkbox, your clients can maintain employee data and enter time to complete
their payroll data entry.
Workpapers CS



We have added the ability to disconnect workpapers from an engagement binder via the Disconnect
Workpapers wizard. Disconnected workpapers can be returned and saved back into the binder after
work has been completed via the Return Workpapers wizard. For more information, see Disconnect
and return workpapers, overview.
We have updated the process of saving and closing workpapers to remove the prompt to return them
to an engagement binder. Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Adobe® PDF workpapers are now
automatically checked back into the binder after being saved and closed. Workpapers are also
automatically checked back in upon closing if changes were not saved. (Accounting CS Ideas
Community #1099)
We have addressed the following issues.
 The application displayed a Save As prompt when Microsoft Word documents were closed that
were not opened via Workpapers CS.
 The Workpapers dashboard displayed incorrectly when certain scanners were installed.
 An error occurred when workpapers were added to an engagement binder via drag and drop.
 An error occurred when an engagement binder was rolled forward.
Reports


We have added the following charts as default financial statements. (Accounting CS Ideas
Community #1160)
 Chart - Revenues and Expenses - 12 Month Comparison. This chart is a line graph to
compare 12 months of a client’s monthly revenues and expenses.
 Chart - Revenues and Expenses - Current Year - Prior Year. This chart is a column graph to
compare the current year and prior year of a client’s year-to-date revenues and expenses.
Note: Only staff members who are in security groups with access to the Report Designer are
automatically granted access to new reports. You will need to update other security groups to grant
permission to access new reports. To do that for each applicable security group, mark the
checkboxes for the appropriate reports in the Reports tab of the Setup > Firm Information > Security
Groups screen or the Setup > Firm Information > Client Security Groups screen.
We have updated the Bank Account Reconciliation Worksheet report to use portrait orientation.
(Accounting CS Ideas Community #287)
Note: If your firm has modified the predefined version of a report, the application will not overwrite
your existing report with an updated version. If this is the case, you will need to make the necessary
changes to your customized report manually, or you will need to restore the latest predefined version
using the Report Designer. To do the latter, select the report from the Reports list pane in the Report
Designer and then choose File > Restore Default.
Report Designer


We have added the following sections of variables to the variable tree.
 Bank Account Activity > Transaction > Payments
 Chart of Accounts Activity > Transaction > Payments
We have addressed the following issues.
 In certain circumstances, the application calculated the Customer Activity > Beginning Balance
variable incorrectly on reports such as the default Customer Activity reports.


In certain circumstances, the application calculated the Vendor Activity > Beginning Balance
variable incorrectly on reports such as the default Vendor Activity reports.
Layout Designer
We have addressed an issue that, in certain circumstances, caused the application to calculate the
Customer Activity > Statement > Beginning Balance variable incorrectly on accounts receivable forms
such as the default accounts receivable statements.
General – Payroll






We have made weighted allocation available for deductions using the Garnishment special type.
We have added an Inactive date field to the Creditor Garnishment Orders grid and the Child Support
Orders grid in the Employee Payroll Item Settings dialog (accessed by clicking the Ellipsis button next
to the deduction item in the Payroll Items tab of the Setup > Employees screen).
We have added options to the Limit section of the Main tab of the Employee Payroll Item Settings
dialog for Other garnishments. You can now specify whether to use the federal or state minimum
wage when honoring limits for the garnishment, which provides more flexibility for handling state tax
levy rules.
We have added a default filter option of Today in the Manage Files dialog (accessed from the Setup >
Process Direct Deposit screen) so that the most relevant data will display by default.
The application now displays file location paths as hyperlinks in the Actions > Process Direct Deposit
screen.
Nebraska. The application no longer requires a dash to be included in Nebraska unemployment
account numbers in the Payroll Taxes tab of the Setup > Clients screen.
Payroll compliance








We have added the ability to send Forms W-2 and 1099-MISC (for independent contractors) to
Employee Self-Service portals for payroll consolidation groups.
The application now displays file location paths as hyperlinks in the following screens and dialogs.
 Actions > Process EFTPS screen
 Actions > Process Internet/Magnetic Files screen
 Actions > Process Internet/Magnetic Files – Manage Files dialog
 Actions > Process New Hires screen
 Actions > Verify SSN/TIN screen
Kentucky locals. The application now retrieves tax amounts from payroll checks (rather than
calculating the tax amount based on taxable wages) for the following forms.
 Bourbon County – Form 01 retrieves the Bourbon County OLF tax.
 Fayette County – Form SCH_220-221-S retrieves the Fayette County OLTS tax.
 Georgetown/Scott County – Form PR100 retrieves Georgetown OLF, Scott County OLF, and
Scott County OLTS taxes.
 Mt Washington – Form Quarterly retrieves Mt Washington OLF tax.
 Paris – Form OLF-2 retrieves Paris OLF tax.
Louisiana. The Louisiana Workforce Commission no longer accepts paper copies of Forms LWC ES4BC or LWC ES-61. As a result, we have made the following changes.
 We have combined Forms LWC ES-4BC and LWC ES-61 into one collation for form processing.
 You can now file the collated Form LA-LWC ES-4BC/61 via internet file for clients with no
employees in Louisiana.
Maine. We have addressed an issue that, in certain circumstances, caused the application to
combine withholding and unemployment payments for the Maine ACH credit payment file.
Missouri. We have addressed an issue that prevented the application from including the preparer’s
address on Form MODES-4-7.
Ohio. We have updated the magnetic media files for Forms JFS 20127 and 20128 so that they do not
exclude the leading zeros from employee Social Security numbers.
Pennsylvania locals. We have made the following changes to the monthly EIT forms for employees
with multiple work locations.
 Forms - The application now creates separate forms for each of the employee’s work locations.

UB 8155






Internet files - The application now displays the employee under each appropriate location in the
file rather than under only one location.
Tennessee. The application now specifies the filing addresses appropriately for Form LB-0456/0851
and Form LB-0852 based on whether or not a payment is included with the form.
Vermont
 Beginning with third-quarter 2014 reporting, the Vermont Department of Labor requires all
employers to file Form C-101 electronically and will no longer accept paper copies of the quarterly
reports. Because of this, we have removed the Paper filing method for Form C-101.
 We have updated the Healthcare Contribution rate used for Form C-101. Currently, each
employer is exempt from paying the Healthcare Contribution for up to four full-time equivalent
(FTE) employees. Beginning with third-quarter 2014 reporting, employers must pay an increased
Healthcare Contribution amount for each FTE above the exemption level of four FTEs.
Virginia. We have updated the due date of Form VA-6 per specifications from the Virginia
Department of Revenue.
West Virginia. We have combined Forms UC-A-154 and UC-A-154-A into one collation for
processing.
Payroll form and filing information
The Payroll Form and Filing Information portlet on the Home or Firm dashboard provides the following
information: form approval status, form availability, available filing methods, form due dates, form filing
addresses, tax payment information (for all tax types), agency contact information, new hire reporting
information, payroll resources, and tax calendar (to view and print tax deposit due dates and form due
dates for all federal, state, and certain local tax agents). Click the applicable jurisdiction on the map to
display the federal, state, and local tax form information within the tabbed pages in the lower section of
the portlet. For information on working with portlets, enter Dashboard portlet: Payroll Form & Filing

Data conversion from Creative Solutions Accounting (CSA) to Accounting CS
Payroll


We have addressed an issue that caused the application to close during the import process when a
client record included a garnishment deduction item for an after-the-fact payroll client being converted

We have addressed an issue that prevented the application from importing the report description for
