Description:
The AFWD is an internal and external style make-up
air canopy whose extraction method is through a bank
of UL Listed baffle style filters. The AFWD model is UL
710 Listed for use over 400ºF Commercial cooking
appliances only.
The AFWD model is intended for use over low duty
cooking equipment such as ovens, roasters, and
steam equipment. This model is available in both a
wall or island style configuration.
Specifications:
Make-up air style Type I commercial kitchen ventilation canopy UL 710 Listed with or without an electro-mechanical fire damper in
the exhaust collar. Canopy is constructed of a minimum 18 gauge non-magnetic stainless steel on all surfaces. All exterior joints
and seams shall be continuously welded liquid tight, ground smooth, and polished to match the finish requirements. Construction
to conform to NFPA 96 standards and shall meet UL 710 standards for operation. Canopy is constructed using the standing seam
method for optimum strength. UL Listed removable stainless steel grease filters running full length of the canopy. Grease trough
is fully concealed and internally pitched to a removable grease cup(s). The hood supply plenum shall be lined with 1” thick foil
backed insulation for prevention of condensation. Make-up air is returned to the kitchen via a combination of front face and internal
registers with integral balancing dampers. The make-up air collar has an integral fire damper and shall include balancing dampers.
Canopy shall be complete with UL Listed incandescent globe style light fixtures mounted on 36” centers.

Note: Greater exhaust and/or lesser supply air flow rates may be required for each specific installation to obtain complete vapor and smoke removal.
Note: Hoods over 15’-0”in length require two exhaust duct collars. Exhaust collar sizing is based on an average range of 1600FPM. Duct collars are
located on centerline of canopy, unless otherwise specified. Hoods with double exhaust collars have them located on ¼ length lines unless otherwise
specified. Canopy is to have a minimum 6” overhang on all open sides and front from the cooking equipment to the inside leading edge of the hood.
