V2 Quick Setup Inst.
SC1 gen2 V2 by Draper Quick Setup 1.) Hook it up a) Mount the SC1 component as shown in SC1 gen2 Specifications and Installation Instructions. b) Set motor physical limits. c) Connect motor wiring as described in SC1 gen2 Specifications and Installation Instructions. d) Connect communication and/or control: 1) For Manual Switch control, hook up Wall Switch or Dry Contacts at the UP, DOWN, and COMMON locations described in SC1 gen2 Specifications and Installation Instructions. 2) For systems of multiple SC1 units, or to connect to an SC1 Bridge, use 6-conductor phone cable to connect Red RJ-25 modular connectors to create the SC1 Gen2 Bus and the legacy SC1 Bus. Refer to SC1 Technical Note 1 for information on the SC1 Bus limitations in large networks. For the 6-conductor phone cable 26AWG wire – Cat5e cable or better is suitable – electromagnetic shielding suggested. 3) For RS-232 interface of Controller/PC to SC1 gen2 Bus, refer to the SC1 Bridge Quick Setup document. 4) For networks with legacy SC1 Devices, arrange the SC1 gen2 Bus and SC1 gen2 Bridge first. Then, attach SC1 devices forming an SC1 Bus at one end of the SC1 gen2 Bus to prevent disrupting the SC1 gen2 Bus. Refer to SC1 gen2 & SC1 Technical Note 1 for information on the SC1 Bus limitations in large SC1 gen2 networks. QEYE and QAUX connections have important distinctions. Refer to SC1 gen2 Specifications and Installation Instructions for technical information when attaching RP accessories. e) Connect AC power wiring as described in SC1 gen2 Specifications and Installation Instructions. 2.) Turn it on a) Apply appropriate AC power. b) Observe the Program Mode LED for initialization. The LED will blink red, red, green. ( • • • ) 3.) Verify Basic Operations and Calibrate a) Using the connected control device, verify OPEN/CLOSE or EXTEND/RETRACT. If direction is incorrect, reverse motor wiring (see SC1 gen2 Specifications and Installation Instructions) or use Reverse Motor Direction command (see SC1 gen2 Programming Summary). For IR and RF control interfaces, see SC1 gen2 Programming Summary for control and programming codes that utilize the SC1 Bus. b) Refer to SC1 gen2 Command Summary and SC1 gen2 Programming Summary for Calibration sequences (required for Intermediate Positions). 4.) Program the SC1 gen2 a) Refer to SC1 gen2 Command Summary and SC1 gen2 Application Notes for reset information and Factory Default programming already configured into the motor control unit. b) Programming modifications can be accomplished using the button sequences on a handheld RF/IR Transmitter available from ESI. Additionally, an RS-232 serial interface with a Controller/PC connected to an SC1 gen2 Bridge can be used with a terminal emulator program to facilitate programming (see SC1 gen2 Command Summary). c) Reset information is included in the SC1 gen2 Command Summary and SC1 gen2 Programming Summary.
