P/N C3048- WELD-IN SUBFRAME CONNECTORS
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Be sure to read all the instructions carefully before beginning the installation. Since a welder is needed
to install the subframe connectors, do not weld near fuel lines, brake lines or the gas tank. Be careful
with all flammable items near welding areas (i.e. interior carpet). No Modifications to the floor are
required in the installation of these frame connectors.
1. Disconnect your negative battery cable, jack the car up and support it on jack stands, and
remove your interior and carpet.
2. Remove the flat plate and line clamp that holds the brake line to the frame at the front of the
passenger side rear frame rail and pull the lines out of the way to position frame connectors.
3. Make sure all the areas of the subframe, (where the welding takes place) are cleaned by grinding
away paint and rust.
4. Just behind the rear of the front subframe are two rubber plugs. They must be removed, and
later may be filled with silicone or seam sealer from the inside.
5. The two subframe connectors are slightly different to accommodate differences between your
car’s left and right rear frame rails. For your convenience, the subframe connectors are stamped
“L” (driver side) and “R” (passenger side).
6. Tack weld the frame connectors in place, make sure the fit is okay and there is no interference.
Drill holes for the brake line plate to be reattached.
7. Finish welding the subframe connectors making sure that all mating surfaces are fully
connected.
8. Position the supplied reinforcing plates to overlap the sides of the rear subframe rails and frame
connectors. Tack weld, make sure the fit is okay, and finish weld in place.
9. After welding is complete, spray the frame connectors with paint or undercoating to prevent
corrosion.
10. You may now reinstall your interior and carpet, take your car off the jack stands, and reattach
the negative battery cable.
11. Installation is complete.
NOTE: BEFORE DOING ANY WELDING ON THE CAR BE SURE TO DISCONNECT THE
BATTERY GROUND WIRE. WE ALSO RECOMMEND TAKING YOUR COMPUTER
MODULE OUT TO PREVENT DAMAGE.
