CHANGES
General


We have added the ability to expand the list of alerts and notices within the Alert and Update
Notifications dialog to display the full alert text for each item. Click the + sign next to an alert to view
its details.
We have moved the Backup command from the Help menu to the File menu. You can use the
Backup dialog to back up the entire firm database, which includes all client data, and to schedule
recurring backups.
Note: This command is available for a locally installed version of Accounting CS only. If you are
licensed to use Accounting CS in the Virtual Office CS® or the Software as a Service (SaaS)
environment, your firm data is backed up automatically on the servers that host your data.
Accounting


We have updated the tax codes that are available for selection in the Setup > Chart of Accounts
screen and the Actions > Enter Trial Balance screen for integration with the 2015 versions of
UltraTax CS® and GoSystem® Tax RS.
We have updated the following PDF documents for the 2015 tax year.

We have updated the Export Client Data Wizard for tax exports to Lacerte®, ProSystem fx®, and
ProSeries® for the 2015 tax year.
Accounts Payable
We have updated the Actions > Enter Payables screen to retain the values entered in the Journal,
Posting period, and Date fields for the last saved transaction and use those values for the next new
transaction.
Accounts Receivable
 We have updated the Actions > Enter Invoices screen to retain the values entered in the Journal,
Posting period, and Date fields for the last saved transaction and use those values for the next new
transaction.
 We have added a Reset default to field to the data mapping screens of the Spreadsheet Import
wizard (accessed via File > Import > Spreadsheet) for customers. The options in the drop-down list
enable you to set the default mapping settings for all items in the data grid of the current mapping
screen to Add as is, Blank, or Do not import. This will not affect values that have already been
modified from the default setting.
Workpapers CS™





We have added the ability to launch an onscreen calculator from the toolbar and the right-click
context menu in the Engagement Binders Tree portlet. The new calculator enables you to paste a
calculator tape into documents within the binder. For more information, see Using the built-in

We have added an option in the Add Workpaper Wizard that enables you to insert one or more
workpapers from an existing binder into the current binder. For more information, see Adding
workpapers from an existing binder. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #1793)
The application now enables you to type multiple characters to select a specific client ID from the
client list when you are printing documents using the Workpapers printer driver. (Accounting CS Ideas
Community #1683)
We have added the ability to group K-1 documents when organizing source documents for 1040
clients. For more information, see Firm > Preferences tab.
We have added the ability to custom sort individual pages of the tax organizer when organizing
source documents for 1040 clients. For more information, see Firm > Preferences tab.
Reports
We have updated the following reports and financial statements.
 The following accounting reports now include the Blank Line Between Transactions checkbox and the
Gridline Between Transactions checkbox in the Sections to Include section of the report options.

 The Balance Sheet financial statements now include conditional heading text that changes based on
the entity type of the selected client in the Liabilities and Equity section. (Accounting CS Ideas
Community #1608)
Note: If your firm has modified the predefined version of a report, the application will not overwrite your
existing report with an updated version. If this is the case, you will need to make the necessary changes
to your customized report manually, or you will need to restore the latest predefined version using the
Report Designer. To do the latter, select the report from the Reports list pane in the Report Designer and
then choose File > Restore Default.

General – Payroll







We have made net-to-gross calculations available for payroll checks entered in the Actions > Enter
Transactions screen. For more information, see Entering individual payroll checks. (Accounting CS
Ideas Community #452)
We have added the ability to quickly view an employee’s current or prior year earnings. To do this,
choose Actions > Analyze Client Activity > Employee Earnings. For more information, see Analyze
Client Activity – Employee Earnings. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #178)
We have added an option to the Export Options dialog (accessed from the File > Export Transactions
screen) that enables you to include the client name as part of the file name when creating payroll
journal entry export files.
Arizona. The Arizona Job Training Tax has been repealed effective January 1, 2016. When adding a
new SUI tax rate record, the Job Training Tax supplemental rate will now default to zero.
Massachusetts. We have updated the application to allow the new Withholding ID numbers (now
being issued by Massachusetts and formatted as WTH-########-###) to be entered into the
application.
Vermont. We have updated the application to allow the new Withholding ID numbers (now being
issued by Vermont and formatted as WHT########) to be entered into the application. The old
Withholding ID numbers (formatted as 430-nnnnnnnnnF-##) are no longer accepted on any paper
withholding forms submitted to Vermont.
Virginia. We have added a field to the Payroll Taxes tab of the Setup > Employees screen that
enables you to specify age and blindness exemptions.
Payroll compliance


We have added the Workflow – Processing payroll tax reconciliation forms topic to the Help & HowTo Center. The workflow walks you through the tasks necessary to process payroll tax reconciliation
forms (Forms 94x and state payroll tax reconciliation forms).
We have added a Payroll Tax Form activity view for Form 941. To view the diagnostic, choose
Actions > Analyze Client Activity > Payroll Tax Form in the Actions > Edit Payroll Tax Forms screen
when the federal Form 941 is selected. For more information, see Analyze Client Activity – Payroll

Payroll form and filing information
The Payroll Form and Filing Information portlet on the Home or Firm dashboard provides the following
information: form approval status, form availability, available filing methods, form due dates, form filing
addresses, tax payment information (for all tax types), agency contact information, new hire reporting
information, payroll resources, and tax calendar (to view and print tax deposit due dates and form due
dates for all federal, state, and certain local tax agents). Click the applicable jurisdiction on the map to
display the federal, state, and local tax form information within the tabbed pages in the lower section of
the portlet. For information on working with this portlet, see Dashboard portlet: Payroll Form & Filing
Information.
Affordable Care Act enhancements
We have made several Affordable Care Act enhancements. For more information, see Affordable Care
Act (ACA) reporting and Spreadsheet import – Form 1095-C.
 We have added an Affordable Care Act tab with an Aggregate Groups section in the Setup > Clients
screen. Use this tab to group existing clients and other group members to complete Part IV of Form
1094-C. (Accounting CS Ideas Community #1639, 1351 and 1435)
 We have added event tracking for employee information changes and client payroll tax information
changes related to Form 1095-C.
 We have added the File > Export > 1095-C Data command to create a Form 1095-C template
spreadsheet that includes basic employee information. You can send this spreadsheet to your client
to have them add the employees’ 1095-C Part II and Part III information.

We have added the 1095-C Part II: Offer and Coverage information section to the Edit Multiple
Employees dialog (accessed from the Setup > Employees screen).
We have added the ability to share data from Form 1095-C Part II and Part III information with
UltraTax/1040 tax returns.
In the Print Options – Form 1095-C dialog, we have added the ability to use Form 1094-C as a
separator page and, optionally, to print a watermark.
We have added the internet filing method for Forms 1094-C and 1095-C. This filing method is still
pending approval with the IRS. You will need to register with the IRS to submit these files. For more
information on how to register and how to upload files, visit the IRS AIR Overview page at

Accounting CS Payroll, for live payroll processing
In addition to the changes made for general payroll features listed above for after-the-fact payroll
processing, the following changes have been made for the live payroll processing features specific to
Accounting CS Payroll.

Accounting CS Ideas Community
