but you’re driving the change.
For more than 25 years, Yamaha has led the industry in
innovation. But we can’t take all the credit. We are driven
to succeed by our customers’ high expectations. It’s your
love of the water that inspires our unwavering dedication
to customer satisfaction.
Let’s take a moment to reflect on how Yamaha has
changed the game over the last few years. You asked and
we delivered. You wanted bass power that was stronger,
faster, cleaner and more fuel-efficient. We introduced
the new V MAX SHO, the world’s first 4.2-litre Super
High Output four-stroke. You asked for an offshore fourstroke that was much lighter and more fuel-efficient.
We launched the next generation of Yamaha V6 fourstrokes. You were looking for more power and lighter
weight in the midranges. We responded with the new
four-stroke F70. You asked for more portable power, and
we redesigned our F6 and F4. And that’s just for starters.
This brochure is full of new innovations, all infused with
Yamaha’s legendary reliability, and it’s all inspired by
you. You see, we may be the game changers, but you’re
the ones driving the change. So go ahead, turn the key.
Let’s discover something new.

F350
An Investment in the Future
The Yamaha F350 was the world’s first V8 5.3-litre four-stroke outboard, and completely
redefined offshore satisfaction. A combination of technological advancements — such
as ionic combustion sensors, Variable Camshaft Timing, single electronic throttle valve
and dual In-Bank exhaust with Power Surge Chambers — made history, toppled records,
inspired boatbuilders to rethink design and caused offshore fishermen to do a double take.
In fact, it changed the very direction of the boating industry.
Offshore enthusiasts and tournament fishermen are drawn to the F350’s massive power which
offers a whole new take on command and control. The F350’s high displacement balanced with
unbelievably long-range fuel efficiency, advanced engineering and strategic design have raised
the bar on reliability. Boaters are replacing twins with a single F350 and even triples with twin
F350s. They’re saving on fuel and maintenance costs. And they’re loving where boating is going.
The Yamaha 350 V8 continues to take offshore boating, boat design and competitive fishing into
an exciting new era.
The Power to Change an Industry
Yamaha’s V8 outboards provide power and thrust that’s
traditionally delivered by larger displacement inboard or stern
drive engines. Boaters are seriously considering power-to-weight
savings, in addition to affordability, increased fuel efficiency and space
savings. And that’s catalyzing boat manufacturers to change their
approach to offshore boat design.

THE REMARKABLE
YAMAHA V6 FOUR-STROKES
Range. Power. Heart-in-your-throat acceleration. A few short years ago,
the F225 redefined four-stroke outboard performance. It was the first
to meld the four stroke’s clean, quiet, fuel-efficient attributes with the
unmitigated muscle of a V6. Engineered specifically for marine use, it
is exceedingly lightweight, compact and smooth running. This engine
performs flawlessly on today’s demanding V6-powered boats, because
we collaborated with boatbuilders and dealers to determine the optimal
shape, weight distribution and rigging specs. We developed a sleek 60°
V-block with a space-saving In-Bank exhaust design.The 24-valve Double
Overhead Cam delivers incredible torque and high-end horsepower, yet
it’s stingy with your fuel. Our unique Labyrinth Exhaust design makes
your V6 so quiet at idle and trolling speeds, it virtually whispers through
the water. The Yamaha V6 Four-Stroke. A powerful and revolutionary
series of outboards.
In-Bank Exhaust —

The best of both worlds
TheYamaha F150 has it all — it’s a clean, quiet,
fuel-efficient four-stroke that delivers all the
power and acceleration of a 150-horsepower
V6 two-stroke. And if you’re running twins,
you can get them with counter-rotation. The
F150’s not just powerful; it’s also agile, thanks
to its in-line four-cylinder, 16-valve, double
overhead cam and precision electronic fuel
injection. This solid combination of power
and performance makes the F150 incredibly
versatile, and is probably why it’s been a
Yamaha best seller for years.
For the same outstanding reliability in a
slightly smaller package, Yamaha also offers
the F115. But either way, you can’t go wrong.
Both of our in-line four-strokes are up for
virtually anything — whether you’re hopping
the sweet spots, towing a skier or tooling

the bay. Lightweight, compact and punchy,
they’re great for deck and offshore boats;
pontoons and deep-V hulls. Reliable. Versatile.
Powerful. Solid performance. Real value.
Right when you thought you couldn’t possibly
ask for anything more from an outboard, our
in-line four-strokes have another pleasant
surprise in store. Ultra-low emissions. Both
the Yamaha F150 and F115 are C.A.R.B. 3-Star
rated, featuring some of the lowest emissions
in today’s four-cylinder four-stroke outboard
category. While their emissions may be low,
this dynamic duo features incredibly high
fuel efficiency — some of the best on the
water. So start ’em up and stay out all day.
Because when you’re running a Yamaha
in-line four, you can relax knowing you’ve
made a responsible and economical choice.
Greater Power and Reliability
The 16-valve double overhead cam
maximizes power by using four valves
per cylinder, eliminating rocker arms
and their adjustments. Increased air
supply and volumetric efficiency increase
performance.

4.2-Litre Big Bore Displacement
By using a highly advanced
thermally applied plasma fusion
process on the cylinder walls, the
V MAX SHO has no conventional
steel cylinder sleeves, yet the
cylinder walls are 60% harder than
steel. That means larger cylinder
bores for increased displacement,
resulting in more power and torque,
without increasing outer cylinder
dimensions. It also results in
dramatically lighter weight, better
cooling, and the “micro-textured”
cylinder walls help reduce friction
loss, further increasing performance
and enhancing reliability.

Yamaha Fuel Filters —
the ultimate protection
Your fuel filter plays a crucial role in your engine’s performance,
reliability and long life. Yamaha designed your outboard, and we
know what it takes to protect it. Our 10-Micron Fuel Filters filter out
contaminants and separate water from the fuel, ahead of the onboard
filters and injectors. They have a high-performance flow rate and a
much larger filtering surface than other filters on the market, and
they’re manufactured to strict Yamaha standards. Use them along
with all of the other Yamaha power system components for the
dependability of a totally PowerMatched™ system.
PowerMatched™ Protection
Our 10-Micron Fuel/Water Separating Filter is designed for EFI fourstroke and HPDI two-stroke outboards, but also offers excellent
protection for carbureted engines. Yamaha’s filter technology ensures
maximum filtration while maintaining adequate flow rate. Available
with aluminum or stainless steel head.

The Evolution of the Prop
As our legendary line of outboards continues to evolve, so does
our line of propellers. Tapping into proprietary information,
Yamaha’s engineers continue to design and refine props that push
the performance of both existing and emerging marine technology
to previously unimaginable levels. In our continuing dedication to
developing the perfect propeller for each outboard and boating
application, Yamaha is excited to announce three new additions
to its line of superior prop technology, the Saltwater Series II SDS,
4-Blade XL and the V Max Ventless. Made of the highest-quality
stainless steel, they’re designed for marine-tough durability and
superior performance, and will no doubt be valuable additions to our
lineup, and ultimately, your boating experience. Want to see what
your outboard is capable of? Pair it with a flawlessly engineered and
meticulously manufactured Yamaha propeller.
Saltwater Series II —
Shift Dampener System (SDS)
This series greatly reduces shifting noise.
It’s so impressive there is a patent pending.
Using a special new design and highstrength components, much of the resulting
force of an outboard shifting into forward
or reverse gear is absorbed, resulting in
far quieter and smoother operation. With
their aggressive rake and extra cupping on
the blades, SWS II props are renowned for
their durability and superior mid-range fuel
efficiency on large offshore boats, along
with excellent anti-ventilation characteristics
for better handling in rough seas. Available
in 13”, 15”, 17”, 19”, 21”, and 23” right- and
left-hand rotations.
28 2011OUTBOARD
The Science Behind the Speed
Even the slightest variance in the degree of rake, pitch, cup and
diameter of a prop’s blades can have a startling effect on your
outboard’s performance, handling and fuel efficiency. By manipulating
these design elements, Yamaha engineers are able to create props
that perfectly harness the power of our outboards. Your outboard’s
performance relates directly to the design of your propeller. Is it made
of stainless steel, aluminum or plastic? Does it feature three blades or
four? By varying these elements, Yamaha engineers create props that
are perfectly fitted to specific outboards and boating applications. And
different applications demand different performance characteristics
from their props. Whether you’re offshore angling, chasing bass or
taking a leisurely pontoon ride, your Yamaha dealer can help you
select a prop that will enhance your outboard’s performance and
your boating experience.
V MAX Ventless Series
Designed exclusively to properly harness
the awesome power of Yamaha’s new
V MAX® SHO™ four-stroke outboard.
Perfect for bass and other lightweight highspeed boats powered by the new V MAX
SHO outboard, these props are purposely
designed for more acceleration, higher topend speed and superior performance and
handling when mated to these outboards.
Available in 23”, 25”, 27”, and 29” pitches in
right-hand rotation only. NOTE: Two-stroke
outboards should be equipped with V MAX
Vented Series propellers.
Performance XL4TM Series
Created for large offshore boats, such as
express cruisers and walk-around models,
which require massive thrust to plane and
additional propeller ‘grip’ for maximum
operational efficiency. Helping to harness
the incredible power of Yamaha’s 5.3L
V8 outboards, these propellers offer
outstanding acceleration, quick planing, and
improved “grip” to help maintain plane at
lower speeds and help eliminate ventilation,
particularly in turns and following seas.
Available in 15” and 17” pitches and in both
right- and left-hand rotation. NOTE: These
propellers will only fit Yamaha’s line of V8
outboards.
SALTWATER SERIES HS4
Intended for use with our V6
four-strokes and 200-300hp twostrokes in specific applications.
Expect outstanding acceleration,
improved “grip” to help maintain
plane at lower engine speeds, and
better resistance to ventilation in
high seas. Available in 21”, 22”,
and 23” pitches, in both right- and
left-hand rotation.
SALTWATER SERIES XL®
Designed exclusively for Yamaha
V8 outboards. They feature 21%
more blade area than Saltwater
Series II™, minimize ventilation
and provide large, offshore
boats with amazing power to
plane, acceleration and top end.
Available in five pitch sizes from
17” to 25”, in both right- and lefthand rotation.
SALTWATER SERIES II™
These propellers feature a large
diameter, steep rake and added
blade cup, for superior midrange
fuel efficiency and reduced
ventilation. That means improved
cruising range and better handling
in rough water. Available in 15”,
17”, 19” and 21” pitches (23” in
Saltwater Series®), in both rightand left-hand rotation.
PONTOON PERFORMANCE
SERIES
Features a notably larger blade
area to provide the thrust and
control larger pontoons demand,
while adding “grip” and reducing
ventilation in turns. Available in
9”, 10”, 11”, 12” and 13” pitches.
These props pair well with T50,
T60, F75-F115 four-strokes and
60-130 hp two-strokes.
RELIANCE® SERIES
This series was initially designed
for the popular F150, but
provides excellent performance
on outboards up to 300hp. The
innovative blade design improves
handling and turning and delivers
more speed at all rpms, excellent
anti-ventilation and better “grip”
to boost bow lift and top-end
speed.* Available in 15” to 21”
pitches in right-hand rotation and
in 17” to 21” in left-hand rotation.
V MAX® SERIES
Delivers max muscle on bass
and other lightweight high-speed
boats. Expect superior handling
and “grip,” greater acceleration,
improved bow lift and higher
top-end speed than either our
Pro Series or Performance XL
Series props.
Pro SerieS™
A high rake, progressive pitch
and aggressive cupping deliver
excellent midrange and top-end
performance. It’s a popular choice
for single-engine, high-speed
boats that require “bow lift” and
a high engine-mount. Available
in three pitches in the 70-130hp
range and in four pitches for
150-200hp Yamaha outboards.
Right-hand rotation only.
Performance XL Series™
Another popular choice for bass
boaters. Similar to the Pro Series,
but features larger, thicker blades
and a stronger hub for better
performance in high-horsepower
applications. Available in three
pitches, right-hand rotation only.
Painted Stainless Steel
Series
A great all-purpose prop, its
stainless steel construction allows
for a blade that’s thinner, more
efficient and more durable than an
aluminum propeller. Available in
right- and left-hand rotation.
Aluminum Series
Light weight and lower cost makes
an aluminum propeller a popular
choice. It’s important to remember
that Yamaha aluminum propellers
provide
better
performance
with your Yamaha outboard. An
aluminum prop also makes an
excellent choice as a spare, in the
event your primary prop becomes
damaged.
Dual Thrust Series
The answer for heavy loads such
as sailboats and pontoons. There’s
even a High-Thrust™ with a large
diameter and low pitch (14 x 11),
designed especially for use with
the Yamaha T50/T60 on a pontoon
boat.
Performance 3- OR 4-BLADE
A great option when Painted
Steel doesn’t agree with your
application, but Pro and Reliance
don’t agree with your budget.
Polished steel, Performance is
more aggressive than Painted
Steel, but not as aggressive as
Pro or Reliance. Adjust your pitch
accordingly. Available in 3- or
4-blade and in right- and left-hand
rotation.
*Compared to Yamaha’s painted stainless steel propellers.
Consult your Yamaha Dealer to help ensure you select the proper parts for your boat and motor application. Additional parts may be required.

do you yamaluBe?
The Secret to a Long Life
Yamaha’s outboards are constantly evolving. Growing more powerful
yet increasingly fuel-efficient. As horsepower and resulting internal
engine pressures increase, proper lubrication becomes even more
critical for reliability and long life. Count on Yamalube, Yamaha’s
line of high-quality oils, to keep pace with advancing outboard
technology. That’s exactly why we’ve recently reformulated our
popular Yamalube Four Stroke FC-W®. This formulation is built
to handle the unique demands of today’s four-stroke outboards.
Available in 10W-30 (all-purpose) and 20W-40 (warm-climate)
weights, Yamalube 4M’s low-phosphorous formulation is fortified
with molybdenum compounds. These compounds help reduce the
wear caused by sudden changes in engine speed and sustained
high-rpm operation, common in four strokes. In fact, this formula has
been shown to reduce wear by 85% over the previous formulation.
It also features a proprietary blend of corrosion-inhibitors,
shear-stable polymers, anti-foaming agents, detergents and
dispersants, to maintain the proper lubricity and start-up protection
that four-stroke outboards demand.
Better for your Yamaha
Yamalube Four Stroke FC-W is the engine oil designed by
Yamaha specifically for Yamaha four-stroke outboards. A superior
formulation that surpasses the factory requirements. Yamalube
Four Stroke FC-W is engineered to provide dependable, long-life
protection while enabling your engine to deliver easier starts and
high performance.

Better Marine Protection
While many outboards have the displacement of high-performance
automotive engines, the marine environment offers special
challenges. Premium lubricity is critical when you’re operating
under high loads, extended full-throttle operation, and salt air.
Yamalube Four Stroke is FC-W certified, the NMMA® (National
Marine Manufacturers Association) performance standard created
especially for four-stroke marine engines.
Better Lubrication
You need it. And you get it with Yamalube Four Stroke FC-W.
More anti-wear additives than passenger car motor oils, for
better bearing protection. Polymers that resist breaking down
even under the severe conditions outboards face every day.
Superior rust and corrosion inhibitors. The highest amount of
detergents and dispersants, to keep your engine clean inside.
Superior lubrication even in cold water under low-speed
trolling conditions. Yamalube Four Stroke FC-W is simply better
all-around.

At Yamaha, customer service is at the top of our
priority list. That’s why we just won our eighth.
At Yamaha, customer satisfaction comes first. It fuels our
relentless pursuit of a more reliable, exciting boating experience.
As if happy customers aren’t reward enough, in 2009, Yamaha
received its eighth consecutive Marine Customer Satisfaction
Index Award. In the history of the award, we’re the only outboard
company, ever, to achieve this. We’re staying the course,
releasing new outboards, re-engineering existing models and
revolutionizing the worlds of bass fishing and offshore boating.
As we continue to chart new waters, know that one thing will
remain unchanged: Yamaha’s legendary reliability. After all,
that’s what has helped us keep our customers so satisfied,
for eight years running.
Reliability starts here.
