Data Access Unit For the Micro PLC Product Specifications And Installation Data 1 DESCRIPTION The Data Access Unit (HE620TCR020) provides important functionality to users of the Micro PLC. This NEMA 4-12, panel mountable unit allows Micro PLC users to access the complete PLC I/O table, where changes can be made to machine setpoints, etc. The Data Access Unit features a two-line by 16 character LCD display. The LCD characters are bright and highly visible with a character height of .38". Eight tactile feel keys allow the user to select, display, force and/or change registers in the Micro PLC. The unit communicates to the Micro PLC serial programming port through an RS-232 port. The Data Access Unit is powered by 12 or 24VDC, which is provided to the unit through a two position removable terminal strip. The Data Access Unit is not programmable, its functionality is pre-defined at the factory. This cable should not be longer than six feet. After the proper type is displayed, pressing ↑ and/or ↓ selects the register or I/O point to be displayed. Pressing one of the arrow keys and the Fast key at the same time causes the register or I/O point number to increment or decrement more quickly. 5.2 Modifying a Register or I/O Value When the desired I/O point is displayed on the top line, pressing the Modify key will cause its value to flash. Pressing the ↑ or ↓ key causes the I/O value to increment or decrement. Pressing one of the arrow keys and the Fast key at the same time causes the data value to increment or decrement more quickly. Pressing the Zero key sets the selected I/O register's value to 0. Pressing Enter causes the new data value to be written to the I/O register. PAGE 4 5.3 19 MAY 2000 MAN0188-04 Returning to the First Reference Address Pressing the Zero key selects the first reference of the displayed register type. 5.4 Forcing a Digital Input or Output Point Display the FI (force input) or FO (force output) bit for the I/O point to be forced. Set it to "1" by pressing the Modify key, then ↑ and then Enter. With the FI or FO bit set, the I/O point is no longer controlled by the PLC, but may be directly controlled from the keypad, by setting the I or O bit to 1 (ON) or 0 (OFF). To return control of the I/O point to the PLC, set the FI or FO bit back to 0. Note: The TCR key performs no function with this model.
