RSLogix 5000 Enterprise Series Software With RSLogix™ 5000 Enterprise Series software, you need only one software package for sequential, process, drive, and motion control programming. The RSLogix 5000 Enterprise Series environment offers an easy-to-use, IEC 61131-6 compliant interface, symbolic programming with structures and arrays, and an instruction set that serves many types of applications. This environment is common to the Allen-Bradley® Logix platforms: ControlLogix®, FlexLogix™, CompactLogix™, and SoftLogix5800™, as well as PowerFlex 700S with DriveLogix™. What’s New in Version 13: y new Lite Edition software package (9324-RLD250xxE) provides relay ladder, function block diagram, structured text, and sequential function chart editors for smaller controllers y support for online editing of structured text and sequential function chart routines y ability to create libraries using the relay ladder partial import/export functionality y improved defaults for relay ladder and structured text instructions y description pass-through, which automates tag description creation y logic browser to navigate code y ability to estimate project size offline y report generation wizard y partial printouts for logic editors y new tag listing with improved formatting uses less paper y user-customized toolbars to launch third-party applications RSLogix 5000 Enterprise Series software is available in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. Translations include online help, user manuals in PDF format, and all software menus and dialog boxes. You can install multiple language versions of RSLogix 5000 software on the same workstation and use the appropriate version for your system. Flexible, Easy-to-Use Editors The software includes language editors for relay ladder, function block diagram, structured text, and sequential function chart logic. Each language editor is fully-integrated into the software. One controller project can include multiple routines of each language type. Use this editor: To: y develop traditional PLC applications relay ladder y manage motion and servo control needs y perform messaging and serial communications y create circuit flow representations of your application function block diagram y use specialized process and drive control blocks built into the environment y develop process and drive control loop algorithms y use a textual-based language to program complex mathematical operations structured text y take advantage of the same functions and instructions offered in relay ladder and function block diagram y use a highly-visual language to manage program and routine execution sequential function y sequence machine states chart y more easily program machines with repetitive operations All four language editors provide the ability to make changes on line with a running controller. This lets you debug and enhance your programs while maximizing your production productivity. When you download an application into a controller, RSLogix 5000 Enterprise Series software determines whether the controller firmware is compatible. If not, the software helps you locate the correct firmware and the software updates the controller as part of the download process. You can easily re-use application code across different Logix platforms by morphing a project. Just change controller properties of the project and specify the new controller type. The software can fully upload the program logic for all four programming languages, as well as tag names, directly from a controller. This simplifies maintenance because you can always obtain the original source directly from the controller. With structured text, you can also obtain the in-line descriptions (comments) from a controller. Product Profile Robust, Specialized Instruction Set In addition to standard instructions, the software includes: y industry-specific instructions for process, drive, and motion applications. y ASCII instructions to enhance your ability to manipulate, store, and send string data. y message instructions to simplify sending and receiving data across many different devices. y sequential function chart components to structure your application. RSLogix 5000 Enterprise Series software includes ActiveX® faceplates for the function block instructions that commonly require operator interface displays. Drop these faceplates into any ActiveX container, such as RSView ME or RSView SE, to graphically monitor your program. An optional, built-in autotune utility lets you autotune the PIDE instruction from its ActiveX faceplate, from its property dialog screen, or from a custom screen in your operator interface application. Powerful Data Editor Programs created by RSLogix 5000 Enterprise Series software use IEC 61131-6 compliant, symbolic data addressing. Create a tag by assigning a name and defining the data type. Tag names are loaded with your application into the controller. This provides you with self-documented logic and eliminates the need for you to memorize the controller’s memory layout. Each tag is stored individually in the controller, so you can create new tags while the controller is on line and in run mode. Descriptions that you enter in a custom data type are automatically passed through and made visible in the tags that use the data type. The pass-through description is then merged/concatenated to the description from the base tag definition. This automates documentation creation and streamlines the development process. You can create: y tags that are either accessible by a single routine or accessible by all routines within the controller. y customized data types by combining multiple data elements into a compound structure. y arrays of any data type or data structure. RSLinx® software can access the tag list, either on line in the controller or off line in the software file and make the tag list available to other software packages such as RSView®32™ via an OLE for Process Control (OPC) browse component. This reduces development time by avoiding tag mismatches between related applications. Integrated Process Control Take advantage of RSLogix 5000 Enterprise Series software to address your process applications: y Use the function block diagram language to create continuous and batch process control loops. Online editing permits process changes to loops while they are operating. y Develop logic using an integrated set of process control instructions that are available in function block diagram and structured text languages. y The PIDE autotuner simplifies startup by setting gains automatically. y The ActiveX displays streamline development and maintenance by providing a direct link to control loops from user interface displays. y Use sequential function charts with embedded structured text to create simple batch procedures. Highly-Integrated Motion Capabilities RSLogix 5000 Enterprise Series software provides built-in, highly-integrated motion support. A single hardware and software platform meets your combined motion and programmable controller needs. The motion configuration wizard leads you through the parameters of a motion axis. While online with a controller, use the built-in marker test, direction test, and auto-tune features to reduce axis setup time. The relay ladder and structured text editors include a series of motion-specific instructions. 9324-PP001B-EN-P — March 2004 Intuitive Programming Environment The software displays the IEC 61131-6 compliant, multi-tasking, operating system of a Logix controller as a graphical tree with tasks, programs, and routines. Multiple users can simultaneously monitor and edit the contents of a running Logix controller. Drag-and-drop to move instructions, logic, routines, programs, and tasks either within a single project or between copies of RSLogix 5000 Enterprise Series software to create project libraries. You can also move program elements between the RSLogix™ 5 and RSLogix™ 500 software packages. Quickly access the context menus for common tools by right-clicking over addresses, symbols, instruction blocks, rungs, or other application elements. An automatic type-ahead feature works with the instruction set and tag database to speed your data entry and programming. And RSLogix 5000 Enterprise Series software includes the familiar search/replace function you’ve used with RSLogix 5 and RSLogix 500 software. The software automatically searches for tag descriptions if they are not provided. An alias tag, array tag, or custom data type leverages the descriptions from its base tag or the data type. With custom data types, the software concatenates the tag’s root description with the datatype’s member description. This creates a very specific description, saves you development time, and improves the resulting documentation. Superior Diagnostic Capabilities RSLogix 5000 Enterprise Series software uses the RSView32 TrendX™ component found in other Rockwell Software products, such as RSView® Enterprise Series software, to provide graphical, realtime data histograms for diagnostic and monitoring functions. Trend as many as eight separate values together. Multiple trends can be active simultaneously. Force values to test your logic. You can: y set forces on individual bits and entire values. y monitor forces in the tag monitor for tags, individual bits, or entire values. y force transitions and disable simultaneous branches in the sequential function chart editor. y monitor forces in the ladder editor for both bit and block instructions. Open Access to Project Contents With RSLogix 5000 Enterprise Series software, you are free to work with other tools to streamline your development. You can access various portions of your project by: y Windows® Clipboard cut/copy/paste code and information between RSLogix 5000 Enterprise Series software and other Windows-based tools to create, manipulate, and duplicate your tags, comments, and logic. y Import/Export Tag Definitions the Comma Separated Value (CSV) export provides an easy way to extract tags for use by other parts of your system as well as providing a way to automate tag creation and manipulation of comments using third-party tools such as Microsoft® Excel®. y Full Project Import/Export this ASCII representation of your controller project provides complete access to create and manipulate the controller’s configuration outside of RSLogix 5000 Enterprise Series software. This permits the ability to link code creation directly to business systems and automate the code generation process. y Ladder Diagram Rung Partial Import/Export this XML-based, ASCII file contains user-selected rungs and the associated rung comments, tags, and datatype definitions. This lets you create external libraries of code that can be easily imported. During import, you also have the option to rename tags and modify descriptions so that the code is immediately ready to run. Protect Your Application RSLogix 5000 Enterprise Series software comes with a stand-alone version of the Rockwell Software security server that offers multiple-user, multiple-level password protection to your controller both online and offline. You assign: y full controller access y read only access y code read and data read/write access RSLogix 5000 Enterprise Series software also includes source protection functionality that offers protection for individual routines. You can restrict individual routines from viewing, editing, printing, and exporting. 9324-PP001B-EN-P — March 2004 Selecting the programming package Standard Edition 9324-RLD300xxE✶ Standard/NetWorx Edition 9324RLD300NXxxE✶ Full Edition 9324RLD600xxE✶‡ Professional Edition 9324RLD700NXxxE✶ all all all all fully supported upload/download only editor available separately upload/download only editor available separately upload/download only editor available separately fully supported fully supported fully supported fully supported fully supported fully supported fully supported fully supported fully supported fully supported upload/download only na fully supported upload/download only editor available separately editor upload/download only available separately upload/download only editor available separately fully supported fully supported fully supported fully supported fully supported fully supported available separately available separately included included included included available separately available separately available separately available separately available separately available separately included available separately available separately available separately available separately available separately available separately included RSLinx Lite included Lite included Lite included Lite included Lite included Lite included Professional included➤ RSNetWorx™ for ControlNet™, DeviceNet™, and EtherNet/IP™a available separately available separately available separately available separately included➤ available separately included➤ Upgrades Service to Standard: 9324-RLD0U3xxE Service to Full: 9324-RLD0U6xxE Service to Professional: 9324-RLD0U7xxE Mini to Standard: 9324-RLD2U3xxE Mini to Full: 9324-RLD2U6xxE Mini to Professional: 9324-RLD2U7xxE Lite to Full: 9324-RLD25U6xxE Lite to Professional: 9324-RLD25U7xxE Standard to Professional: 9324-RLD3U7xxE Multi-language pack extends Standard to Full♣ Multi-language pack extends Standard to Full♣ Full to Professional: 9324-RLD6U7xxE na Available Features Logix5000 controllers supported Relay ladder editor§ Function block diagram editor 9324-RLDFBDENE§ Sequential function chart editor 9324-RLDSFCE§ Structured text editor 9324-RLDSTXE§ Highly-integrated motion Graphical trending DriveExecutive™ Lite 9303-4DTE01ENE PIDE autotune 9323-ATUNEENE RSLogix Emulate 5000 and RSTestStand Lite 9310-WED200ENE Service Edition 9324-RLD000xxE✶† Lite Edition 9324RLD250xxE✶ CompactLogix5300 FlexLogix5400 fully supported view only fully supported Mini Edition 9324RLD200xxE✶ CompactLogix5300 FlexLogix5400 fully supported upload/download only editor available separately upload/download only editor available separately upload/download only editor available separately upload/download only na available separately all view only view only view only view only fully supported fully supported fully supported ✶Replace “xx” in the catalog number with the appropriate language designation: EN=English, FR=French, DE=German, IT=Italian, PT=Portuguese, and ES=Spanish. †Available as of RSLogix 5000 programming software version 12. ‡Available as of RSLogix 5000 programming software version 10.02. §A multiple language editor package is available as 9324-RLDMLPE.
