Instructions for how to get CognitiveTPG Printer Administrator utility un-blocked by Security Settings

With Oracle taking over Java, the Java updates have been more frequent than ever before. With the latest Java 7 update 51 released on January 14 th

, the user might see the following pop up when trying to open up CognitiveTPG Printer Administrator (JAdmin) (Figure 1).

Please do the following to get rid of the pop-up as shown above:

1) Please Go to the ‘Control Panel’ and double-click on the ‘Java’ icon.

****Please note: For 64-bit machines you should have 32-bit Java installed, so you should see

‘Java (32-bit)’

2) In the ‘Java Control Panel’ window please click on the ‘Security’ tab. Make sure that the

‘Security Level’ bar is not set to ‘Very High’. Click on the ‘Edit Site List’ button under ‘Exception

Site List’ section as shown in Figure 2

3) You should see a window pop-up as shown in Figure 3. Click on the ‘Add’ button.

4) Add the URL ‘http://jadmin.cognitive.com’ to the ‘Location’ text box as shown in Figure 4 below and click ‘OK’ button

5) You might see another pop box like shown in Figure 5. Click on ‘Continue’.

6) You will see that the URL that you added shows up under the ‘Exception Site List’ as shown in

Figure 6 below

7) Now go to your desktop and click the application icon as shown below in Figure 7

8) You might see the following security warning every time you are trying to run the application.

Please check the box to accept and click on ‘Run’ to be able to run the application as shown in

Figure 8.

9) Please note: Please remember to run the application as an administrator. You should have administrative privileges on the computer that you are running. Also you will have to right click on the application desktop icon as shown in Figure 7. Go to ‘Compatibility’ tab and under the

‘Privilege Level’ check the box for ‘Run this program as an administrator’ as shown in Figure 9
