read these hints carefully, since their content is important for installation and usage.

executables and software packages only work, if the required license keys or
authorisation codes are available.

SinuTrain Language Update Tool
1.1
Introduction
The software SinuTrain Language Update Tool (called Language Update Tool) is a
product owned by Siemens AG Sector Industry. It is an add-on to SinuTrain for
SINUMERIK Operate (called SinuTrain). The Language Update Tool is used to
install additional language packs to the SinuTrain software.
The Language Update Tool is delivered as add-on software to SinuTrain. Without an
existing SinuTrain installation the add-on cannot be installed
The add-on software Language Update Tool does not require an additional License.
1.2
Hardware Requirements
To install the software a minimal diskspace of about 13 MByte is required on your
harddisc. Additional disc space is required when additional language packs are to be
installed.

Software Requirements
SinuTrain Language Update Tool is a 32bit application released for the following
operating systems:

Installation and Removal
2.1
How to install SinuTrain Language Update Tool
SinuTrain Language Update Tool is installed by a guided setup (started with
program “setup.exe”). To install SinuTrain Language Update Tool SinuTrain for
SINUMERIK Operate (Version 02.06.01.00) must be installed. During the installation
process SinuTrain must not be started.
Remark
Please close all running applications before starting the setup from the delivered
DVD.
2.2
How to remove SinuTrain Language Update Tool
Removal of SinuTrain Language Update Tool is based on the standard Windows
deinstallation method. During the removal process SinuTrain must not be started.
1. Please select Start  Settings  Control Panel from the Windows Start
menu.
2. Double-click the item „Add or Remove Programs“.
“Change or Remove programs” will be active.
3. Choose „SinuTrain Language Update Tool 2.6.1“ from the list of installed
programs and click “Remove”.
Remark
If the product SinuTrain for SINUMERIK Operate 2.6.1 is deinstalled the add-on
Language Update Tool will be deinstalled as well.

Usage of SinuTrain Language Update Tool
The Language Update Tool is started from the main menu of SinuTrain (see picture
1). Additional links in Windows start menu or desktop do not exist.

With the add-on software additional language packs for the SinuTrain software can
be installed (see picture 2). By installing additional language packs only the
language of the machine user interface is changed.
The Language Update Tool checks whether the language pack is valid for the
installed SINUMERIK version.

Deinstallation of language packs is not possible.

Additional Notes
4.1
User Rights
To install SinuTrain Language Update Tool administrator privileges are required. The
software can be used with administrator or power user privileges.
Start of SinuTrain Language Update Tool in Windows XP without administrator
privileges:
Requirements:
1.
SinuTrain was installed on the PC with administrator privileges.
Workflow:
1.
Log in as administrator on the PC
2.
Select Start  Settings  Control Panel
3.
Choose Administrative Tools  Computer Management
4.
Open folder „Local Users and Groups“ in „Computer Management“
5.
Open folder Groups  Power Users
6.
After clicking the button “Add” the dialog “Select Users” will be opened
7.
Choose the domain user (e.g. a student), who is to be added to the local group
“PowerUsers”, and click “OK”.
8.
Start Windows explorer, open properties of the installation folder and choose tab
“Security”.
9.
Select “PowerUsers” in field “Group or user names”.
10. Select “Full Control” in field “Permissions”.
11. Log in as user (e.g. the said student) and start SinuTrain.

Known Restrictions
Setup
During the installation process a dialog box with usability notes might pop up (see
picture 3).

To continue the setup the dialog must be closed using the button „Start“.
Further restrictions do not exist.
