CHANGES
General
We have updated the Chart of Accounts spreadsheet import (accessed via File > Import > Spreadsheet)
to assign tax codes and account groupings based on the assignments that are specified in the Setup >
Firm Information > Standard Account Mappings screen.
Accounting CS Client Access


We have added Client ID and Client Name to the filters available in the Setup > Firm Information >
Client Staff screen. This enables you to filter the client staff list to include only those who have access
to the filtered clients.
The NetClient User Account dialog (accessed by clicking the Ellipsis button next to the Account field
in the NetClient CS Access section on the Main tab of the Setup > Firm Information > Client Staff
screen) now filters by default to include only accounts that match either the last name or the email
address of the selected client staff. You can also choose to include the full list of unassigned portal
accounts.
Workpapers CS™

We have added the ability to link engagement binders to a PPC SMART Practice Aids™ engagement.
This change enables you to add workpapers directly from SMART Practice Aids and roll forward the

linked engagements. Note that this new feature is available only after installing the 2014 annual
release of PPC’s SMART Practice Aids (available 10/22/2014 from PPC’s Checkpoint® Tools website
or via Virtual Office CS® at a future date). For more information, see Linking engagements to PPC’s
SMART Practice Aids in our Help & How-To Center.
We have addressed an issue that prevented the application from automatically checking back in
workpapers from certain PPC Checkpoint Tools titles.
Data conversion from Creative Solutions Accounting™ to Accounting CS


We have added an address line to the Local Tax Mapping screen. You can now enter the full address
to make it easier to select the appropriate local tax.
We have addressed the following issues.
 An error occurred when a vendor was mapped to a tax agent.
 An error occurred in certain circumstances when pay items were converted.
 The application did not import General Ledger account numbers for employee SUI taxes.
 The application converted Iowa employee W-4 information inaccurately.
Reports


We have added the Garnishment Register payroll report to list case details and amounts for each
garnishment item for a selected client on an employee-by-employee basis. (Accounting CS Ideas
Community #636).
Note: Only staff members who are in security groups with access to the Report Designer are
automatically granted access to new reports. You will need to update other security groups to grant
permission to access new reports. To do that for each applicable security group, mark the
checkboxes for the appropriate reports in the Reports tab of the Setup > Firm Information > Security
Groups screen and/or the Setup > Firm Information > Client Security Groups screen.
We have addressed an issue with the Payroll Processing Schedules firm report that caused the
Payroll Schedules filtering and sorting tab in the report options to be hidden.
Note: If your firm has modified the predefined version of a report, the application will not overwrite
your existing report with an updated version. If this is the case, you will need to make the necessary
changes to your customized report manually, or you will need to restore the latest predefined version
using the Report Designer. To do the latter, select the report from the Reports list pane in the Report
Designer and then choose File > Restore Default.
Report Designer


We have added variables for reporting on garnishments for Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, Defaulted
Student Loans, and Other. These variables are listed in the following sections of the variable tree.
 Employee > Deduction Items > Details
 Payroll > Check > Deduction Items > Garnishments
 Vendor Activity > Check > Liability Details
We have addressed an issue that caused an error to occur during attempts to insert certain cellbased operations or functions in the Formula dialog when accessed from within the Conditional
Expression dialog.

We have added payroll check layout variables for Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Orders, Defaulted Student
Loan Orders, and Other Garnishment Orders to the Payroll > Check > Deduction Items >
Garnishments section of the variable tree.

 In certain circumstances the application did not include local taxes paid on Line 17 of Form NYS45 when consolidating.
 The application cleared the paid preparer information on Form NYS45 and Form MTA 305 when
