The Alpha® HEPA Vacuum is recommended for use in the Natural/Engineered Stone, Porcelain, Ceramic, Glass, Construction, Marine and Automotive Industries. What is a HEPA Filter? HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air. HEPA filters capture 99.97% of all particles greater than 0.3 micrometer. HEPA filters can be beneficial for asthma and allergy sufferers because the filter traps the fine particles that can trigger allergy and asthma symptoms. HEPA filters are fully effective only when used on a “sealed system” vacuum such as the Alpha® HEPA vacuum. Do I need to use the disposable bag which comes with the HEPA vacuum? Yes, the disposable bag provides primary filtration which collects the large size debris. The Dacron bag is the secondary filtration and the actual HEPA filter provides the final filtration. Can I use this HEPA Vacuum as a wet vacuum? No. The Alpha® HEPA Vacuum is strictly a DRY vacuum. Are the Alpha® HEPA Vacuum hoses rated as “Anti-Static”? No. The hoses are not rated as “Anti-Static”. What are the lengths of the two hoses which come with the Alpha® HEPA Vacuum? There are two hoses which come with the vacuum, 10 ft. and 4 ft. lengths. 10 ft. x 1-1/2in. crushproof hose and a 4 ft. x 1-1/4” crushproof hose. Does the vacuum have an automatic start with tool-triggered control? Yes. When the power tool is started, the vacuum cleaner will start. The vacuum cleaner will continue to run for a few seconds after the power tool is turned off, in order to clear dust from the hose. When no power tools are attached, the vacuum cleaner may also be turned on and off using the switch on the power head. When does the HEPA main filter need to be replaced? To ensure optimal performance, we recommend regular replacement of the main filter (Part No. HE00483) at least once every 6 months. Depending on severity of use, you may find it advisable to replace your filter as often as once a month. What is the length of the power cord on the Alpha® HEPA Vacuum?
