NEW FEATURES IN VERSION 3.0
Scenarist Version 3.0 boasts significant feature enhancements designed to make powerful DVD production more efficient
than ever. Version 3.0's productivity enhancements combine with Scenarist's existing authoring power to make Scenarist
the most comprehensive authoring solution available today. New features include:
Advanced Copy-and-Paste - Version 3.0 expands the existing copy-and-paste functionality and enables
copy-and-paste of pre-, post-, cell, and button commands between PGCs.
Import and Export Video Title Sets - Create a productive and efficient Scenarist workgroup. The new Import

then compile each section into a single project for polishing and finishing, prior to replication.
Photoshop® Layer Support - Create layered DVD menus in Adobe Photoshop that contain background and
button layers and import them directly into Scenarist.
Enhanced Template Management - The new template wizard in version 3.0 allows DVD authors to create
new scenarios from custom project templates or using the project wizard.
Improved Asset Management - Specify default file locations for scenario and script files or reassign file paths
for entire projects. Move a complete project between systems with ease.
Expanded Device Support - Output to the widest range of CD-recordable, DVD-recordable, and DLT drives
available. A complete list of supported devices is maintained at the following URL:
http://www.sonic.com/products/scenarist/devices.asp

on-call DVD expertise a must for any high-end facility.

that can be relied on for fast-swap hardware replacement,
hotline phone access, online support resources, LifeLine
facility visits, and software updates.
Existing Scenarist Customers
The release of Scenarist Version 3.0 offers existing Scenarist users with a new opportunity to increase the efficiency of
their production workflow by utilizing Scenarist's new Import/Export VTS feature.
The user demands:
Scenarist delivers:
Increased Production Efficiency: The ability to distribute
the production of large titles over multiple systems, copy
and paste command scripts, and deliver project masters

of the title and then pull them together into a 'master'
project, radically reducing turnaround time for large scale
productions. Scenarist Exclusive.

copy-and-paste and PlantDirect™Tapeless Premastering
to further increase production efficiency. See page 11 for

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Can I give this document to a potential or existing customer?
No. This document is for reseller use only.
2. What happened to Scenarist Advanced?
Scenarist Advanced is still available to existing users. It can still be purchased by ordering Scenarist Studio Authoring
(SEN-3101), Scenarist Studio FilmPack (SEN-3113), and Scenarist Studio Line 21 Option (SEN-3112). The only difference
between this composite order and Scenarist Advanced is that 96 kHz PCM Audio Support and Multi-channel MPEG-2 Audio
support are not featured. These two features are in Scenarist Professional.
3. What is meant by 'Video angles with audio/subtitle switching'?
Scenarist Professional let's you associate any video angle with an audio and subtitle stream. This means that when you
switch video angle, the audio and subtitle stream switch automatically. it also enables you to hide certain audio/subtitle
streams from the viewer depending on which angle they're viewing.
4. Do I need any other equipment to use PlantDirect?
No. All you need is an internet connection and access to your replicator's ftp site.
