How confident are you that the system you are proposing will meet with your client’s approval? In today’s
environment, high security and emergency situations demand a high confidence level that your systems will
perform as required.
The reliability of Audix equipment is demonstrated not only by the many prestigious clients that have chosen
Audix product time after time, but more importantly have passed the test of operation in life safety scenarios.
"The technical support from Audix Systems is outstanding; the personal help makes
a challenging project easy for us. We are currently finishing a major upgrade for The British Museum.
The client chose Audix equipment again because of the reliability, flexibility and future proofing of the
system."
Shamoon Amerat
“………. would like you to know that the system has received some very favorable comments, not
only from the McAlpines team, but also from the project client Capital Shopping Centres. The system
has performed faultlessly since being commissioned ….. I look forward to working with you all during
the next phase of the project.”

Many projects have demonstrated the strength of the loyalty of our customers and the confidence they have
that Audix will see the job through.
Birmingham International Airport
Audix met the acoustic challenge of the Great Court, British Museum
Queens Theatre
Recently Audix have worked closely with the British Museum and the MoD to upgrade existing Audix
systems. Both these sites have had Audix Systems installed for over 10 years and with the upgrades we
expect to support them for at least another 10 years. The strong relationship between the Audix Technical
Support Team and the client ensured the very tight timescales were met with minimum disruption to these
very high profile and in some instances highly sensitive sites.
Mercedes Benz World
Our list of reference sites confirms our position as
market leaders in the UK and a strong reputation
worldwide. These sites cover many different
market areas including national airports, national
arenas, Ministry of Defence sites, prisons,
prestigious HQ buildings, major factories,
theatres, leading department stores, chemical
sites and cruise ships.
Waste to Energy Plant
Gatwick Airport
The reliability of Audix Public Address and Voice Alarm
Systems is demonstrated by many prestigious clients
that choose Audix product time after time, most notably
London Gatwick Airport which has been supported with
Audix product and the associated services of Audix for
over 35 years.

The Kinetic Distributed Amplifier Unit (DAU) is a complete VA system, which has been developed to
replace talking sounders in many Voice Alarm applications giving you the additional benefits of background
music and public address capability and voice alarm.
It is supplied in a single wall mount box, which is complete with messages, fire interface, dual 30W
monitored amplifiers, power supply, monitored battery charger and the ability to connect non monitored
paging and music sources directly.
Connection to a Fire Alarm System could not be simpler; Kinetic DAU has independent Alert and Evacuate
inputs, which can be directly connected to reverse monitored sounder circuits. Once activated the fire
alarm signals need to be de-latched by the reset input. For retrofit to systems with relays a protected 24V
aux supply is available.
The speaker lines are monitored using a low current DC system, which is continuous, and works with the
music playing. Faults reported are open, short and earth faults. Each speaker fitted to Kinetic DAU must
have a DC blocking capacitor fitted. The use of DC monitoring allows all cable types (MICC and soft skin)
to be used with the system as well as multiple spurs.
The Kinetic DAU draws the minimum of current in standby conditions, muting the music when the AC
supply fails, enabling the unit to draw a miniscule 60mA quiescent current; enabling the use of 3.2AH SLA
batteries for compliance with BS5839 pt 8.
Music sources can be plugged directly into the DAU, and the level of this can be set using a remote DC
volume control. When used with a paging microphone, the music “ducks” and restores gently after paging.

The amplifiers have 3 inputs on XLR; 2 dedicated microphones
and one microphone or line selectable using a rear panel
switch. User selectable Phantom Powering is available for the
microphone inputs, enabled via a rear panel switch. The inputs are individually mixed before passing to the
compressor limiter, which prevents loop overload whilst compensating for varying microphone usage.
All controls are recessed to prevent unauthorised access. Indication is provided for compression level, output
current, loop status and power supply. A loop current monitor socket is provided to allow headphones to be
used to monitor the actual loop current. An audio output (post compressor) is provided for recording, with a
slave audio in to allow cascading. A loop OK voltage is available to illuminate a sign showing correct loop
operation. The units are all 1u (44.5mm) high and a 19" rack mounting kit is available.

A ‘Soundfield Voice Reinforcement System’ is essentially the integration of a mini-PA system in the
classroom.
Under quiet classroom conditions, most teachers have enough natural
volume in their voice to communicate effectively with a standard sized
class. However, a number of acoustic factors (lively/noisy classes,
reverberant
room
conditions,
ambient
noise from equipment
and outside, hearing
difficulties, etc.) can
have a significant affect
on
clear, effective
t e a c h e r / p u p i l
communication.
The inclusion of a Soundfield System in the classroom will raise the
teacher’s voice above this ambient noise level, to give even voice
coverage throughout the room and without the need to shout or raise
ones voice.
The Audix Soundfield Brochure gives advice on identifying ceiling grid type and ceiling tile type. Please
contact us for a copy.

GENEERAL INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
Orders
There is a £50.00 minimum order charge.
The product availability depends upon the type of unit required. The commonly used speakers are usually
available from stock, whilst the larger amplifier equipment may be subject to a short lead time. We will
however always try to meet customers’ delivery requirements.
Dispatch will normally take place by next day carrier services for UK shipment or as arranged for overseas
shipments.
Spares
Spares are available for all products where the installer/maintenance engineer is qualified and trained to
service the equipment. The installer should also have a working knowledge of the operation of the system.
Terms and Conditions
Our Terms and conditions apply and are always sent with order acknowledgements and invoices. A copy is
also available on request.
Technical Support
We can provide technical support in a number of ways, to suit your requirements. A range of specialist
support documentation is available to assist in problem-solving.
Where technical support is required we will need to know the full details of your project, all field equipment
and details of the wiring. However, if you would like to arrange for a diagnostic site visit, please send an
order, giving equipment details as above. We will then be happy to send a qualified engineer to diagnose
the problem and to assist, wherever possible, in finding a solution. This service is chargeable and is
dependent on engineer'
s time, price on application.
Where your site engineer has positively identified product failure, a replacement item will be supplied and
charged for.
Accounts
To open an account you will first be sent an account application request form. Please be prepared to provide
the following information:
•
•
•
Company name and address, telephone, email and fax numbers
Company registration number
Bank and Trade References
A credit account facility can usually be provided, subject to status.
Prompt payment is appreciated. Our standard UK trading terms are 30 days net monthly. Where payment
is not received on time goods will be held until the account is cleared. If you feel there is any reason why
payment should be withheld, please inform us in writing immediately upon receipt of the invoice. This will
avoid delays and misunderstandings when payment becomes due.
Goods Returned
It is occasionally necessary for a customer to return an item of equipment. Where an item is returned for a
chargeable repair, a standard scale of charges is applied, unless beyond economic repair.
Where you return goods to us we strongly recommend that you use a carrier who can provide a proof of
delivery and suitable insurance. We are not liable to credit or replace goods where there is no proof of
delivery.
Please visit our web site www.controlequipment.co.uk for returns procedures, conditions and forms. Our
Quality Manager Graham Webb is also available to assist with goods returns.
