FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION AND
INDUSTRY CANADA RADIO FREQUENCY INTERFERENCE STATEMENTS
This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio-frequency energy,
and if not installed and used properly, that is, in strict accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions, may cause interference to radio communication.
It has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A computing
device in accordance with the specifications in Subpart B of Part 15 of FCC rules,
which are designed to provide reasonable protection against such interference
when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. Operation of
this equipment in a residential area is likely to cause interference, in which case
the user at his own expense will be required to take whatever measures may be
necessary to correct the interference.
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible
for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
This digital apparatus does not exceed the Class A limits for radio noise
emission from digital apparatus set out in the Radio Interference Regulation
of Industry Canada.

2. Overview
Use the LongSpan Medium-Range 900-MHz Omniirectional 5-dBi Antenna with
the LongSpan 900-MHz WIreless Ethernet Extenders to provide medium-distance
wireless Ethernet connections. This 5-dBi antenna extends distances up to 2 miles
(0.9 kg), near-line-of-sight up to 6 walls/500 feet (156 m), and line-of-sight up
to 2 miles (0.9 kg).
The antenna is designed for enhanced broadband high-gain radiation at
freqencies of 800–960 MHz and an antenna gain of 5 dBi. It’s constructed of UV
stabilized fiberglass and stainless steel for durability and long life.
Use two U-bolts to mount the antenna on a pole. Then connect its integrated
female N-connector to the radio antenna connection. DC grounding protects the
antenna from lightning.

CAUTION: When multiple 900-MHz antennas are installed in one area and
face the same direction, antennas should be spaced a minimum of
12 feet (3.75 m) apart. When multiple antennas are installed in one
area and face different directions, antennas should be spaced a minimum of 5 feet (1.56 m) apart.

Chapter 3: Alignment Guidelines
3.2 Transmitter to Receiver Placement
If radios are installed either indoors or outdoors at distances closer than recommended, antennas can overpower each other and cause undesired effects. If
testing radios within one or two feet, remove both antennas. The radios will still
be able to signal each other at close distances. This applies to both indoor and
outdoor units.
