RE: CW Rules, Policies, and Protocols Web Page
The Child Welfare Policy web page is where you will find current Oregon
Administrative Rules (OARs), policies and protocols. The page has recently
undergone some changes we would like to bring to your attention.
The most significant change is that OAR rule sets are now grouped by division. This
means that if you want to read rules related to “Confidentiality of Client Information”,
for example, you will now:
1. Open Division 10 rules by clicking on the link 413-010. The second three
digits of a rule number tell which division the rule is in. After clicking on the link,
you will be prompted to open the pdf. Click “open”.
Once the pdf is open, you will see the Table of Contents on the main screen, as
well as the “Bookmarks” list on the left side of the screen.
2. Select “Confidentiality of Client Information” either by clicking the title in the
Table of Contents, or by clicking the title in the Bookmarks list on the left side of
the screen.
The Bookmarks feature should open automatically on the left side of the screen
when the pdf is opened. If Bookmarks does not open automatically, click on the
ribbon item on the left side of the screen to make it open (see picture below).
(Mac users may not have the Bookmarks functionality).
If you are interested in a specific rule within the “Confidentiality of Client
Information” rule set, you may use the Bookmarks feature to list the contents of
the rule set, and then select a specific rule. Do this by clicking on the “expando”
(little box with the plus sign in it), and then clicking on the title of the specific rule
in which you are interested.
The other noteworthy change is the location of the link to prior versions of the rules.
The link can now be found at the bottom of the list of rule sets in each division.
Please use the link below to familiarize yourself with the updated policy page, its links,
and the bookmarks tool within any of the pdf documents.
If you have questions about this memo or the Child Welfare Policy web page, please
contact the appropriate central office Program Manager, or any of the program
consultants or coordinators.
