Safety Instructions
1.
Please read this manual carefully before using the product;
2.
Leave the board or card in the antistatic bag until you are ready to use it;
3.
Touch a grounded metal object (e.g. for 10 seconds) before removing the board
or card from the anti-static bag;
4.
Before installing or removing a board, wear the ESD gloves or ESD wrist strap;
handle the board by its edges only;
5.
Before inserting, removing or re-configuring motherboards or expansion cards,
first disconnect the computer and peripherals from their power sources to
prevent electric shock to human bodies or damage to the product;
6.
Remember to disconnect the AC power cord from the socket before removing
the board or moving the PC;
7.
For PC products, remember to disconnect the computer and peripherals from the
power sources before inserting or removing a board;
8.
Before connecting or disconnecting any terminal, peripheral or any device, be
sure the system is powered off and all the power sources are disconnected;
9.
After turning off the computer, wait at least 30 seconds before turning it back on

Chapter 1 Product Introduction
Overview
ENC-2211S is a server-grade PCIe x4 optical fiber network adapter with two LC
Gigabit optical fiber connectors. It contains Intel® 82576EB high-performance
network card chip, supporting the A30 network Bypass function. The main features
are as follows:

Bypass status control when the system is connected to AC power but not yet
powered on;

Bypass status control when the system has been powered on;

Bypass status control when the system encounters failure and has no response;

Bypass status control when the system operates normally;

Bypass status control when the system reboots;

Bypass status control when the system has been powered off (with the AC
power connected);

Bypass status preservation when the system has been powered off (with the AC
power disconnected);

Bypass status control and preservation when the system AC power is off
abnormally;
The module supports PCIE half-size dimension with al-alloy panel, fiber connector
indicator and network Bypass status indicator. It can be applied in network security,
server products and common industrial computers.

Tip: How to identify the first pin of the jumpers and connectors
1.
Observe the letter beside the socket, it would be marked with “1” or bold lines
or triangular symbols.
2.
Observe the solder pad on the back, the square pad is the first pin.

SFF Fiber Connector
It provides two 1000Mbps SFF optical fiber connectors on-board; SFF1 and SFF2 are
connected with LC1 and LC2 via SW2. Please connect as follows:
Note: the Bypass topology is shown in the above figure: P1′, P2′, P3′ and P4′ are the
four optical fibers on SW2; P1, P2, P3 and P4 are the other four optical fibers (marked
on the optical switch module, SW2); LC1 and LC2 are two optical fiber connectors on
the slot cover while SFF1 and SFF2 are the two optical fiber connectors on-board.
Please install according to the figure.
Network Indicator
It provides two 1x2 indicators on-board, the upper ones are Activity indicators with
ACT1 and ACT2 as the silkscreen on the slot cover while the lower ones are LINK
indicators with LINK1 and LINK2 as the silkscreen on the slot cover.

Network Bypass Status Indicator
It provides one 1x2 network Bypass status indicator on-board, the upper one is
Normal indicator with Normal as the silkscreen on the slot cover while the lower one
is Bypass indicator with Bypass as the silkscreen on the slot cover.
When the Normal indicator is on, it means that the network Bypass function is
disabled; when the Bypass indicator is on, it means that the network Bypass function
is enabled.

Note: Pin4 is set to ON. Pin1-Pin3 are configured to ON in default setting. When
several modules are adopted within one platform, you may set Pin1-Pin3 to change
the addresses so as to avoid conflicts.
Please refer to the table below: the default address is 0xE0h.
