AboveNEMA Motor Supplemental Warranty Policy

AboveNEMA Motor Supplemental Warranty Policy
AboveNEMA Motor Supplemental Warranty Policy
In order to provide the best support to our customers and demonstrate our commitment to
the long term success of their AboveNEMA motors, the following warranty guidelines
will take effect July 1, 2011. This guideline is to be used in conjunction with the
applicable Siemens Industry, Inc. Standard Terms and Conditions.
•
The new policy applies to all new quotes issued July 1st, 2011 and later.
•
The policy is not retroactive for any existing quotes, orders or motors under
warranty.
•
Warranty Duration:
o For all Norwood-built, AboveNEMA Motor Products (unless otherwise
noted on a firm Siemens Proposal), the standard warranty duration is 24
months from date of shipment.
o For all Norwood-built, AboveNEMA Motor Products sold in conjunction
and packaged with other Siemens Industry Drive Technologies products
(unless otherwise noted on a firm Siemens Proposal), the standard
warranty duration is 30 months from date of shipment.
•
Siemens will provide an additional 12 months of operational warranty as long as
Siemens Field Service is contracted to perform periodic preventive maintenance
on the motors during the storage period and prior to initial start-up. Initial Start
Up must occur within 24 months of shipment for this 12 month extension to be
available. Refer to the SIEMENS MotorCare Program for more details.
•
Standard warranty includes all parts replacement costs.
•
Standard warranty includes all labor and expenses directly associated with the
specific warranty issue. This does not include in and out costs, expedite costs or
overtime labor. Please refer to the Siemens Standard Terms and Conditions for
additional information regarding Siemens warranty policy; inclusions, exclusions,
remedies and Limitation of Liability which still apply.
•
For parts being returned to the Siemens Norwood for repair, customer will only
incur the cost of initial shipment back to Norwood. This is to ensure the most
expedited shipping process. Parts shipping back to the customer site are the
responsibility of Siemens. RMA is still required for all parts returns. A purchase
order will not be required unless item is determined not to be under warranty
during initial inspection upon receipt in Norwood. Motors being returned to
Norwood under warranty will have shipping managed by Siemens in both
directions.

•
The warranties provided above are valid when the motors are properly stored and
maintained in accordance with Siemens standards and procedures outlined in the
Installation and Operation Manuals. The actions as outlined in the IOMs must be
properly documented. Failure to follow those requirements and documentation
procedures may result in the warranty being voided.
•
It is understood by Siemens that the motors will be maintained in as-shipped
condition by the purchaser or their customer. Any and all corrections that are
required to restore the motors to as-shipped condition, shall be made at
Purchaser’s sole cost and expense. Siemens can supply, at an additional expense,
a motor Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure as-shipped motor
conditions.
