Omega PX945 Series Owner Manual
Omega PX945 Series is an industrial transmitter with laboratory accuracy that provides reliable pressure measurement in various applications. It features a wide operating temperature range (-18 to 85°C) and compensated temperature range (0 to 55°C), making it suitable for use in demanding environments. The PX945 Series offers excellent accuracy of 0.1% FS (including linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability), ensuring precise pressure readings. With an excitation voltage of 15 to 40 Vdc and a 4-20 mA output, it seamlessly integrates into existing control systems.

READ BEFORE INSTALLATION Fluid hammer and surges can destroy any pressure transducer and must always be avoided. À pressure snubber should be installed to eliminate the damaging hammer effects. Fluid hammer occurs when a liquid flow is suddenly stopped, as with quick closing solenoid valves. Surges occur when flow is suddenly begun, as when a pump is turned on at full power or a valve is quickly opened. Liquid surges are particularly damaging to pressure transducers if the pipe is originally empty. To avoid damaging surges, fluid lines should remain full (if possible), pumps should be brought up to power slowly, and valves opened slowly. To avoid damage from both fluid hammer and surges, a surge chamber should be installed, and a pressure snubber should be installed on every transducer. Symptoms of fluid hammer and surge's damaging effects: a) Pressure transducer exhibits an output at zero pressure (large zero offset). If zero offset is less than 10% FS, user can usually re-zero meter, install proper snubber and continue monitoring pressures. b) Pressure transducer output remains constant regardiess of pressure. c) In severe cases there will be no output. To access the terminals inside the DIN connector, proceed as follows: 1. Remove the screw at the top of the connector. 2. Separate the DIN connector from the transducer. 3. Insert a small blade screwdriver in the slot provided and pry the DIN connector apart. 4. After wiring the terminals, snap the DIN connector back together. 5. Mount the DIN connector to the transducer (using rubber gasket between), observing the blade orientation. 6. Finish by securing the screw back into top of DIN connector.
