DC24SC is able to charge 7.2V up to 24V Ni-MH/ Li-ion batteries
of slide-type using the unique Optimum Charging System for extended
battery life.
With Interchangeable adapter ADP04 attached, the chargeable range
can be extended further to the following insert-type batteries:
7.2V-18V Ni-Cd batteries (both stick and cluster types)
7.2V-18V Ni-MH batteries (both stick and cluster types)

Note:
Be careful not to confuse the following two Compression springs because they are not interchangeable:
Compression spring 4 (233194-8) assembled to Charger case cover
Compression spring 4 (231474-6) assembled to Terminal cover

DISASSEMBLING
Remove Charger case from Charger case cover as described in Fig. 1.

1. Remove Cap 13 (4 pcs.) from Charger case cover.
Note: Be careful not to lose removed Cap 13.
2. Remove Charger case from Charger case cover
by unscrewing four BT4x20 Tapping screws.

DISASSEMBLING
Remove Terminal unit from Charger case cover as described in Fig. 2.

2. Remove Terminal unit and Compression spring 4

ASSEMBLING
Assemble Terminal unit to Charger case cover as described in Fig. 3.

1. Slide Compression spring 4 (233194-8) over the pin of
Charger case cover until it stops against the rib.

2. Insert three legs of Terminal unit into the
corresponding bosses of Charger case cover.
Then connect Connectors 1 and 2 of Terminal
unit securely to Charging circuit as illustrated
on left in Fig. 2.

Disassemble Terminal cover as described in Fig. 4.

Terminal cover can be removed from Charger case
Note: Be careful not to lose Compression spring 4.

ASSEMBLING
Assemble Terminal cover to Charger case as described in Fig. 5.

1. Set Compression spring 4 (231474-6/ 2 pcs) in place
on the back of Terminal cover as illustrated below.

2. Compressing each Compression spring 4 (231474-6),
insert the boss on the back of Terminal cover into
the oval hole of Charger case, then fit the end of
each Compression spring 4 in the recessed portion
of Charger case as illustrated below.
3. Assemble Terminal cover to Charger case
by tightening PT3x10 Tapping screw.
Note:
0.5 N.m is the recommended tightening
torque for smooth sliding of Terminal cover.

[3]-4. Varistor and Fuse
Cause of Breakage:
Varistor is broken when Charging circuit is continuously loaded with very high voltage; for example, when Charger is
plugged in a power source at double the rated voltage. In this case, Fuse will also be blown up to protect Charging circuit.
Sign of Breakage:
Cracks and/or black discoloration on the surface of Varistor, melt-down Fuse
What to Do for Repair:
You need not replace Charging circuit entirely.
Replace Varistor and Fuse by removing them from Charging circuit using soldering iron,
then by soldering new ones in place on Charging circuit as illustrated in Fig.6.
If Fuse is blown up although Varistor is not broken;
Charging circuit can be broken for some reason other than mentioned above.
In this case, replace Charging circuit entirely.

Note: In order not to pinch Lead wires between Charger case cover and Charger case,
do not route them on or over the ribs and the outside wall of Cheater case cover.
