BOLD DESIGN AND FLEXIBILITY
Attention to Detail
Chrome and textured aluminum accents on the instrument panel and center console add athletic design elements,
enhanced by the chrome-accented instrument cluster and floor-mounted shifter. Contrasting color-thread stitching on
the available leather-trimmed seats was inspired by the fashion industry. Two-tone door panels add depth and interest.
The center stack flows into the center console for a performance feel. The leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift
knob complete the sporty look.
As a crossover, Edge is flexible by definition. But it has even more flexibility
due to innovative features such as the EasyFoldTM rear seatback release, the
configurable center console and the fold-flat front-passenger seatback.

Did you know that the Vista Roof?…
• 10.07 square feet
• Has 3 times more opening for daylight
than the average traditional moonroof
• Provides a great view out of the vehicle
• With the front panel closed, an enormous
skylight allows natural light to illuminate
the Edge’s entire cabin
Fixed rear glass panel
• Encompasses 39.4 percent of the
total Edge roof area
• Is designed to minimize wind noise
when roof is fully open
• 8.04 square feet

SPORTY HANDLING
BEHIND THE W
10
A Solid Foundation
A number of components work together to form the
foundation of Edge’s sporty handling characteristics.
Quite simply, Edge is fun to drive, whether customers
are winding through the city or taking a weekend drive
in the country. Due to its maneuverability, parking Edge
is a snap. No single feature can take all the credit, as
suspension, brakes, steering and drivetrain all contribute
to Edge’s satisfying driving experience. Get your customers
behind the wheel to feel it for themselves.
Four-wheel independent suspension
The Edge’s handling is so responsive and maneuverable, your
customers will have a blast driving it. Suspension tuning helps
hug the road when cornering.
Large-diameter four-wheel disc
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
The pedal feel is confident and smooth. Stopping power is impressive.
ABS helps drivers maintain steering control in emergency or other
hard-braking situations.
Unibody construction with front and rear subframes
The subframes provide a firm foundation that helps isolate the body
from the suspension for a smooth ride.
Front-wheel drive
The weight of the engine rests on the front wheels for good traction
in slippery road conditions. As a bonus, the design also allows for a
roomy interior — especially leg and foot room.
Power rack-and-pinion steering
Excellent maneuverability in city driving and when parking, with a
curb-to-curb turning diameter of 38.6 feet.
HEEL
Edge is responsive, maneuverable and fun to
drive. Take your customers on a test-drive and
they will want to take Edge home.

SPORTY HANDLING
Confident Control Behind the Wheel
AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control)
In addition to its safety benefits, standard AdvanceTrac with RSC contributes to the
Edge’s confident handling:
• The ABS component controls wheel lockup to improve stopping in many situations
• Traction control helps the tires maintain grip, which aids directional control
• AdvanceTrac’s yaw control helps control skidding and fishtailing
(oversteer and understeer)
• RSC helps keep the vehicle’s tires on the road by monitoring and controlling roll rate
Active All-Wheel Drive (AWD)
Customers may think of AWD as a safety feature, but the available Active All-Wheel
Drive provides some important handling benefits as well:
• Helps balance the vehicle when cornering
• Seamlessly delivers torque to the appropriate wheel by continuously monitoring
vehicle speed, throttle input, steering angle and wheel slip
• Paired with AdvanceTrac’s traction control component, AWD can transfer torque
front-to-rear and side-to-side
Active AWD is tuned for on-road performance, while
standard AdvanceTrac with RSC helps keep the vehicle
firmly planted on the road.

Spirited and Efficient Powertrain
2007 3.5L 4V Ford Edge
SAE Net Performance
The Edge is equipped with the all-new Duratec 35 - 3.5L
V-6 engine and 6-speed automatic transmission. This
technologically advanced powertrain helps optimize fuel
efficiency without sacrificing its performance.
6-speed automatic transmission
• Designed to work with the Duratec 35 engine as a cohesive
unit for impressive performance, refinement and fuel economy
• Short first and second gears provide quick launch and acceleration
• Acceleration is smoother and more responsive to driver input than
a 4-speed automatic transmission because of smaller steps
between gears
• Better fuel economy than a 4-speed or 5-speed automatic
transmission(1) because of the tall overdrive gears
• Excellent launch and fuel economy(1) because of the wide ratio
span from first to sixth gear

INNOVATIVE SAFETY
Protecting Occupants — Standard on Every Edge
The Edge’s structural design, A-pillars and bumper-tobumper flow-through rails help to manage energy in the
event of a collision.
Front BlockerBeam™
A steel crossmember suspended below and behind the
front bumper helps protect smaller vehicles in the event
of a frontal collision with the Edge.
Side-intrusion door beams and energy-absorbing door
trims help enhance side-impact performance.
Ford Personal Safety System®
The Ford Personal Safety System tailors front airbag usage
to the severity of the crash, driver and passenger safety
belt use, driver’s-seat position and passenger classification.
The Front Passenger Sensing System (FPSS)
The front passenger seat weight sensor and safety belt
tension sensor detect the presence of a properly seated
person and determine if passenger front airbag should
be enabled or not.
SAFE AND SEC
16
All safety equipment is
standard on all models.
Avoiding Accidents
AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control)
Safety Canopy™ System
The Safety Canopy System features side curtain airbags
with extended inflation time for outboard occupant
protection in the first and second rows. The Safety Canopy
System also includes side-impact sensors and a rollover
sensor that direct airbag deployment in certain sideimpact collisions or rollover events.
Front-Seat Side-Impact Airbags
These airbags deploy from the front-seat bolsters to help
protect the chest of the front-seat occupants in certain
side-impact collisions.
URE
Standard on all Edge models, AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll
Stability Control) includes the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS),
traction control and yaw control of AdvanceTrac, combined with
the addition of Roll Stability Control. RSC adds a vehicle roll
motion sensor that works to counteract excessive roll by instantly
and rapidly applying brake force at the appropriate wheels with
a high burst of pressure. RSC helps to absorb the roll motion and
plant the vehicle’s wheels firmly on the ground.
Active All-Wheel Drive (AWD)
Available Active All-Wheel Drive (AWD) enhances the level of
traction and control in all weather conditions. The system
constantly predicts traction conditions and delivers torque to
the appropriate wheel, even before the wheels begin to slip. No
switch is required to activate the system. Its operation is totally
transparent to the driver.
