In the beginning there was gold
Two families by the names of Herbst and Weiss were instrumental
in making the BEGO company what it is today. What was once a
small firm manufacturing gold foil has grown into a globally operating dental company with branches and agencies in many important
export markets, such as the USA, Canada, France, China and
Australia.
When Bremer Goldschlägerei first opened its workshop in 1890,
the foundation stone for the modern BEGO was laid. Back then,
gold was the most important material in dentistry.
Today, precious metal contin­ues to plays an important role in the
company‘s extensive product mix. Successful precious-metal alloys such as Bio PontoStar ® XL and InLloyd® 100 still enjoy market
recognition and demand.
Gold will no doubt retain its importance as the highest-quality material available. But when it comes to material expertise, we have a
lot more to offer.
In addition to high-gold alloys, BEGO supplies dental laboratories
with numerous, different, non-precious alloys, e.g., Wirobond®,
Wiron®, WIRONIUM® and Wironit®. These alloys are perfectly tailored to the investment materials and equipment from BEGO, and
thus ensure optimal handling.

For reproducible, reliable results, all working steps must be carried out under constant conditions The working temperature and
mixing conditions are of particular importance. Here it is absolutely essential that the recommended values are adhered to.
We recommend a working temperature of +20°C for the investment material and the liquid. Parameters of use, such as the
mixture intensity, should be kept constant. The type of mixing device and the volume of the mixing bowl are used consistently.
Accordingly, either a 250 ml or 1,000 ml mixing bowl should be used consistently to mix 160 g of investment material. Strict
adherence to pre-mixing times of at least 15 secs. ensures a consistent quality of the desired expansion parameters.

Wiron® light: To ensure that the ceramic bonds firmly to the metal, it is essential that the bonding surface is trimmed with sharp tungsten
carbide cutters. The manufacturer’s recommended speed must be adhered to. Following this, the surface must be sandblasted with an
abrasive of predefined grit size, such as Korox® 250, at the recommended compressed air pressure of 3–4 bars. It is essential to clean the
surface with a steam-cleaner, such as the Triton, or in boiling water.

The StainArt Kit facilitates elegantly simple colouring of pressable and
layered veneering ceramic as well as fully anatomical CAD/CAM restorations
Optimal application properties with clear-cut shade selection using the classic A-D shade system ensures accurate control of the desired basic shade.
The range of shades is rounded off with a coordinated system of fluorescent
stains for achieving customised colour effects and characterisations.
BeCe® Incisal KIT ZIRKON for individual design of the incisal portion on milled
frames made from zirconium dioxide. The kit offers a coordinated assortment of
individual materials for the fast and economical creation of layering with a unique
characterisation in the incisal area.
In particular, combining BeCe® Incisal Kit Zirkon with the BeCe® CAD Zirkon
milled dentine core base offers reproducible colour and shape results with a

Surface finishing is an important step in the fabrication of a prosthesis.
