Class Descriptions Etiquette
BOXOLOGY - Come try this high energy, head to toe workout that strengthens and tones all major
muscle groups. Improve your fitness level with the use of free-standing punching bags, stability
balls, med balls, weights, and more!
MAVERICK BOOTCAMP - This circuit class welcomes all levels - from the beginner to the
experienced athlete! Workouts are broken up into circuits varying from class to class with
modifications offered. If you like variety, new movement, and mixed intensities, this class is for
you!
PILATES - Pilates is a system of controlled exercises that engage the mind and condition the total
body. The blend of strength and flexibility training improves posture, reduces stress and creates
long, lean muscles without bulking up. Pilates takes a balanced approach so that no muscle group
is overworked and the body moves as an efficient, holistic system in sport and daily activity.
TRX - Are you ready to take your workout to the next level? In this class, you will work on
improving overall strength, mobility and stability while challenging your core strength. This class
focuses on technique, balance, and strength by practicing basic foundational exercises through
easy to follow progressions. Guaranteed to keep your heart rate pumping, this class will keep you
burning mega calories. All levels of participants are welcome! Class is limited to the first 20
participants.

VINYASA YOGA - Vinyasa yoga is a series of postures, one flowing seamlessly into the next, uniting
the body, mind, and breathe. Designed as a moving meditation, every Vinyasa class is unique;
creating the opportunity to become stronger, more flexible and balanced, while practicing being
present in the moment. All levels are welcome.
POWER VINYASA - An athletic form of Vinyasa yoga focusing on efficiently flowing from one
posture to the next using challenging, intelligently crafted sequences, while connecting movement
with breath. There will be integration of sun salutations, standing series, balancing postures,
backbending, core, inversions, and hip openers to name a few. You are sure to break a sweat in this
class!
RESTORATIVE YOGA is an excellent opportunity to disconnect from the frenetic activity of daily life
and let your speedometer return to 0 mph. It offers a welcome respite among all the turbulence of
life and helps to prepare the mind and body for the inward stroke of meditation and deepened
awareness.
GROUP EXERCISE CLASS POLICIES & ETIQUETTE
ZUMBA - A Latin based dance and rhythm class designed to tone and sculpt your body! This class is
loads of fun and will have you dripping in sweat.

MAV CYCLE - Come join the fun as we put our own "spin" on the traditional Spinning class! Come
prepared to work hard and have fun!
SPINNING- These classes are choreographed and led by certified Spinning instructors. Come
prepared to work hard and have fun!
*Beginners should arrive about 5 minutes prior to class start time for help with bike set up. SPD
cycling shoes are compatible and a water bottle is recommended. All classes involves steady,
consistent pedaling with heavy resistance at times. These rides promote muscular and
cardiovascular development working at or just above anaerobic threshold.

Please be on time. Entering a class in progress in not recommended.
Be considerate of other members. Please do not crowd a member who has arrived to
class before you.
Do not enter the room before the current class is finished.
A Class Pass is required for participation in all specified classes and may be retrieved no
more than 15 minutes prior to class start time from the rec center front desk. Limit one
per person.
Reserving space for others is not permitted.
Keep conversation to a minimum during class.
Members may not use the stereo equipment.
We request that all equipment be returned to the proper storage area. Equipment is not
to be removed from the group exercise room(s).
Please use care when placing equipment down to prevent damage to the floors.
Only water bottles with secure lids are permitted.
Young adults 13 years and older may participate in Group Exercise classes and must be
accompanied by their parent/legal guardian in order to participate.
“Express” classes are abbreviated versions of the original class.
“101” classes are paced slightly slower than the original class.
YOGA CLASSES
ACRO YOGA is a dynamic partner practice that blends together yoga, acrobatics, and healing arts.
Each class will be a blend of core and strength training drills paired with basing, flying, and spotting
techniques. You can expect to have fun and be challenged! No experience or partner is necessary
to attend.
RISE & SHINE YOGA - This Vinyasa yoga practice is a great way start to your day! Through syncing
movement to breathe and using proper form in each pose, you will increase your ability to focus

Each group exercise space is limited, and is on a first come, first serve basis. A minimum of three
(3) class participants are required in order for a class to be held.
