Installation and use of height measuring unit
Your ADE Ultrasonic Height Measuring Unit is a quality product.
In order to achieve best possible results please carefully read and respect the following instructions:
Check carton contents:
Height Measuring Unit fully mounted and folded
Power Supply:
1 alkaline 9V block battery
For setting up place 9V block battery in the battery compartment located at the rear of the display unit.
Make sure battery compartment is safely closed after setting up.
Measuring:

Press ON key. An automatic function test is done before the display indicates ‘0.00’ (zero).
Place the person to measure on a smooth level surface in upright position and straight head.
Place the height measuring unit gently on the head of the person and keep it in horizontal
position.
Make sure the spirit level shows the air bubble completely centred.
The ultrasonic sensor is measuring from the head to the floor. So make sure
there is no object interrupting the measuring line.
Press ON key again if necessary.
Hold measuring unit completely still and listen to the signal sound confirming that measuring has
been completed.
Read the result on the display. The measured value is displayed and hold for approx. 30 seconds.
To continue measuring, reset the unit to the new measuring position and press ON key.
Attention:
The use of the equipment on carpets may falsify the measuring result or makes measuring
impossible.
The height measuring unit is equipped with an automatic shut off after approx. 30 seconds.
Select measuring unit:
Measurements can be taken in cm or inch units.
To change unit there is a selecting switch on the outer side of the equipment.
Warning signals:

Upper part of display shows `----´ means measuring range has been exceeded
Lower part of display shows `----´means result below measuring range
Display shows `bAt´ means Replace Battery. Disposal of used batteries as special waste.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning
For cleaning just use a damp cloth or common disinfection fluids.
Do not use any aggressive cleaning fluids.
Make sure no water or cleaning fluids are penetrating the equipment.
Storage and Transport
Please keep all original parts and pieces for an eventual sending back of the scale
in order to avoid any possible damage during transport which automatically leads to no warranty.
Warranty – Liability
ADE will repair or replace this product within a period of 2 years from date of delivery applying to
defects occurred due to poor material or workmanship (presentation of invoice is necessary). All
moveable parts – batteries, cables, mains units, rechargeable batteries etc. – are excluded. Warranty
does not include natural wear, damages caused by incorrect or negligent handling, overuse or
unsuitable or improper storage. The cost of transport will be borne by the customer should the
equipment be located anywhere other then the customer’s premises. In the event of transport
damage, claims under warranty can be accepted subject to using the complete original packaging and
the equipment secured the way it was packed and secured originally. All the packaging should
therefore be retained.
Any warranty claim will be rejected if the equipment is opened by persons not authorized expressively
by ADE to do so.
Customers abroad are kindly requested to contact their local dealer for any warranty claim, customer
service and spare parts.
