Painless Adjustable Fan Thermostat Instructions
Painless Adjustable Fan Thermostat is a device that allows you to control the temperature of your vehicle's fan. The thermostat has a built-in relay that can handle up to 30 amps, making it suitable for use with most fans. The thermostat also has a knob that allows you to adjust the temperature at which the fan turns on. This allows you to customize the operation of the fan to meet your specific needs.

ADJUSTABLE FAN THERMOSTAT WITH RELAY
INSTALLATION
1) Mount the thermostat/relay assembly under the hood in a convenient location as close to the fan as possible, making sure that the black wire is well grounded using one of the mounting screws.
2) Take the thermostat probe and insert it into the radiator fins carefully as not to damage the radiator core.
NOTE: Be very careful when routing the probe and tubing to prevent kinking.
NOTE: Depending on the particular radiator you have you may not be able to insert the probe into the fins and may need to mount the probe to the back side of the radiator using plastic tie-wraps, clamps, or a mounting bracket insuring the probe is in the hot air flow of the radiator.
3) Splice the small Gray/White wire to an ignition hot power source.
4) Route and connect the shorter Red wire to the fan "+" Terminal or power wire coming from the fan motor.
NOTE: WITH THIS RELAY YOU CAN OPERATE A FAN RATED UP TO 30 AMP'S OR
TWO FANS AS LONG AS THE TOTAL CURRENT DRAW FOR BOTH IS LESS
THAN 30 AMP'S.
5) Mount the circuit breaker provided in a convenient location as close as possible to the power source (battery or large terminal on the starter solenoid) you are using for the fan relay.
6) Neatly route the long Red wire to one side of the circuit breaker installed in step 5. Cut to length and install using a small yellow ring terminal. With another small yellow ring terminal take the remaining Red wire and connect the unused post on the circuit breaker to the battery source.
7) Test the thermostat/relay assembly for proper operation:
When the knob is turned all the way counter clockwise the thermostat connects the two gray/white wires and the fan should come on when the ignition switch is turned on.
Turning the knob clockwise will increase the temperature that is required to turn the fan on.
