Connecting to the ‘eduroam’ Wireless Network using
the eduroam CAT tool

The information in this guide will assist Windows users connecting to the 'eduroam' wireless
network at the University of Surrey using the ‘eduroam CAT tool’.
GETTING CONNECTED
1. Visit https://cat.eduroam.org/
2. Click on the blue text box ‘eduroam user: download your eduroam installer’.
3. A home institution list will appear. Select ‘The University of Surrey’.
4. Configuration for your device type will automatically appear.
If it does not click on the ‘All platforms’ text on the screen to view a list of all platform settings’.
5. Once your settings have been installed click on the downloaded file and select ‘Run’.
6. A welcome window will appear. Click ‘Next’.
7. Enter your IT account username and password and click on ‘install’.
Note: You will need to enter your username in the following format [email protected]
e.g. [email protected]
8. A ‘eduroam installer for University of Surrey’ window will appear. Click ‘OK’ to continue with
the installation. The installation will begin.
9. A window will appear to notify that the installation is complete. Click ‘finish’.
After following the steps above your device will be set up to automatically connect to the
‘eduroam’ wireless service wherever it is In range. No further configuration is required.
