Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If the Dyson handheld vacuum is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, contact the Dyson Helpline.

Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.

Do not handle charger, including the charger plug and charger terminals with wet hands.

Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.

Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.

Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.

Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.

Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.

Unplug the charger from outlet before maintenance.

Do not use with an extension cord.

This Dyson handheld vacuum is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the Dyson handheld vacuum by a person responsible for their safety.

Do not incinerate the Dyson handheld vacuum even if it is severely damaged. The batteries may explode in a fire.

POLARIzATION INSTRUCTIONS

To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized charger (one blade is wider than the other).

This charger will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the charger does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the charger. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install a proper outlet. Do not change the charger in any way.

USING YOUR DYSON HANDHELD VACUUM

CAUTION:

Take caution not to engage battery release button during normal operation.

Dirt and debris may be released from the Dyson handheld vacuum if it is turned upside down. Ensure the Dyson handheld vacuum remains upright in use and storage.

Do not operate the Dyson handheld vacuum while checking for blockages.

PLEASE NOTE:

Do not carry out any maintenance or repair work other than that shown in this

Operating Manual or advised by the Dyson Helpline.

This Dyson handheld vacuum is designed for domestic indoor and car use only.

Do not use it whilst the car is in motion or while driving.

Do not press down on the nozzle with excessive force when using the Dyson handheld vacuum as this may cause damage.

If the motor overheats, the Dyson handheld vacuum will cut out automatically.

Leave it to cool for at least an hour and check for blockages before restarting.

Fine dirt such as flour or plaster dust should only be vacuumed in very small amounts.

Consult your flooring manufacturer’s recommended instructions before vacuuming and caring for your flooring, rugs, and carpet.

WASHING YOUR FILTER

CAUTION:

Switch ‘OFF’ and disconnect from charger before removing the filter.

Ensure filter is completely dry before refitting to Dyson handheld vacuum.

PLEASE NOTE :

This Dyson handheld vacuum has one filter, located as shown, see pages 6 and 7.

It is important to check your filter regularly and wash at least every month according to instructions, to maintain performance. Please leave to dry completely for

12 hours.

The filter may require more frequent washing if vacuuming fine dust.

Do not use detergents to clean the filter.

Do not put the filter in the dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, oven, microwave or near an open flame.

LOOKING FOR BLOCKAGES

CAUTION:

Switch off the Dyson handheld vacuum and disconnect from charger before looking for blockages.

Beware of sharp objects when clearing blockages.

Refit all parts of the Dyson handheld vacuum securely before using.

PLEASE NOTE :

Clearing blockages is not covered by your Dyson handheld vacuum’s limited warranty. If any part of your Dyson handheld vacuum becomes blocked, it may overheat and then automatically shut off.

Unplug the Dyson handheld vacuum and leave to cool down. Clear blockage before restarting.

CHARGING AND STORING YOUR DYSON

HANDHELD VACUUM

Your Dyson handheld vacuum will turn off if the battery temperature is below

37.4° F (3° C). This is designed to protect the motor and battery of your product.

Do not charge the Dyson handheld vacuum and then move it to an area with a temperature below 37.4˚ F (3˚ C) for storage purposes.

BATTERY SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Use only Dyson batteries and charging unit for this Dyson handheld vacuum.

The battery is a sealed unit and under normal circumstances poses no safety concerns. In the unlikely event that liquid leaks from the battery do not touch the liquid and observe the following precautions:

Skin contact – can cause irritation. Wash with soap and water.

Inhalation – can cause respiratory irritation. Provide fresh air and seek medical advice.

Eye contact – can cause irritation. Immediately flush eyes thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.

Disposal – wear gloves to handle the battery and dispose of immediately following local ordinances or regulations.

CAUTION:

The battery used in this device may present a risk of fire or chemical burn if mistreated. Do not disassemble, short contacts, heat above 140° F (60° C), or incinerate. Replace battery with a Dyson battery only, use of any other battery may present a risk of fire or explosion. Dispose of used battery promptly. Keep away from children. Do not disassemble and do not dispose of in fire.

The battery must be removed from the Dyson handheld vacuum before it is scrapped.

The battery is to be disposed of safely.

The Dyson handheld vacuum must be disconnected from the power supply when removing the battery.

Battery can be charged on or off of the machine. Take caution when removing the battery.

2 YEAR WARRANTY

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE DYSON 2 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY.

WHAT IS COVERED

Your Dyson handheld vacuum is warranted against original defects in material and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase, when used for private household purposes in accordance with the Operating Manual. This warranty provides, at no extra cost to you, all labor and parts necessary to ensure your handheld vacuum is in proper operating condition during the warranty period.

Handheld vacuums purchased from an unauthorized dealer.

Carpet damage due to use not in accordance with flooring manufacturer’s instructions or failure to turn brush bar off when necessary.

Use of parts not in accordance with the Operating Manual.

Careless operation or handling, misuse, abuse and/or lack of maintenance or use not in accordance with the Operating Manual.

External sources such as weather.

Repairs or alterations carried out by unauthorized parties or agents.

Use of the handheld vacuum other than for normal domestic purposes within the

United States, e.g. for commercial or rental purposes.

Normal wear and tear, including normal wearing parts such as clear bin™, filter, brush bar, power cord, and reduction in battery discharge time due to battery age or use (or where external damage or abuse is diagnosed).

Use of parts and accessories other than those produced or recommended by

Dyson, Inc.

Before service can take place, the terms of the limited warranty require that you contact the Dyson Helpline with your model name/number, serial number, date and place of purchase. Please keep your purchase receipt in a safe place to ensure you have this information. The serial number is found on the Dyson vacuum’s rating plate, which is behind the filter.

All work will be carried out by Dyson, Inc. or its authorized agents.

Any replaced defective parts will become the property of Dyson, Inc.

Service under this warranty will not extend the period of this warranty.

If your handheld vacuum is not functioning properly, please call the Dyson Helpline at 1-866-693-9766. Most issues can be rectified over the telephone by our trained Customer Care staff. If this is not possible Dyson, Inc. will arrange for your handheld vacuum to be repaired and returned in full working order at no extra cost to yourself.

WARRANTY LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS

Any implied warranties relating to your handheld vacuum, including but not limited to warranty of merchantability or warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the duration of this warranty. This limitation is not allowed by some States and so this limitation may not apply to you.

Your remedy for breach of this warranty is limited to the warranty service described above. Dyson, Inc. will not be liable for any consequential damages or incidental damages you may incur in connection with your purchase and use of your handheld vacuum. This limitation is not allowed by some States and so this limitation may not apply to you.

This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights which vary by State.

This limited warranty is not transferable.
