GAS & SPECIALTY SENSORS
SNOW/ICE SENSOR
T09X SERIES
DESCRIPTION
The Tekmar Control Systems T09X Series Snow/Ice
Sensor provides reliable snow and ice detection and control
for commercial applications. The T090 sensor is designed
to be mounted in the T091 socket and sit flush with the
slab. The sensor measures the slab temperature, surface
temperature and sensor surface moisture level.
FEATURES
• Mounts in Slab
• Long cable 65' (20m) no need for splicing

CAUTION: NOTE: Overheating the apparatus will
damage the device and will void the warranty. No
coating or sealants allowed on sensor.

OPERATION
By using one's reading of the outside air sensor (not supplied with this device) one will know the ambient temperature.
The Blue & Black wires are used to measure moisture, When the sensor is dry the ohms reading is ~2,000,000. When the
sensor is wet the ohms reading should be between 10K to 300k.
To create moisture for the Blue & Black wires to measure, the heater can be turned on when the outside air temperature is below
32°F by applying 24 VAC @ 12 VA to the Red and Black wires.
The Yellow and Black wires are the Heater Sensor Temperature sensor and the Brown and Black wires are the Slab temperature
sensor, both are 10K ohm Type 3 thermistors. One must not exceed 34°F on either of these temperature measurements, this is
done by turning off the heater.
