Documentation Overview
As of Afaria 7 SP5, we no longer ship online help with the software. Instead, we are posting our documentation on
the SAP Help Portal. By hosting our documentation on the SAP website, we can ensure the documentation is
maintained so that it is correct and up-to-date. When you click the Help link on the banner of the Afaria, your
browser opens the Afaria page on the SAP Help Portal.
You can access Afaria documentation at http://help.sap.com/afaria.
Before the release of SP5, we published two main guides: the SAP Afaria Installation Guide and the SAP Afaria
Administration Reference. The topics in these guides have been reorganized into the following help modules:
● Afaria Overview – This module describes Afaria, its features, architecture, and components. It describes how
Afaria interacts with other systems and devices on your network such as your Active Directory server,
Exchange server, and firewall. It includes topics previously found in the Installation Guide such as the System
Requirements and Afaria Architecture.
● Preparing to Install Afaria – This module provides the tasks to prepare your environment for the installation of
Afaria. It includes information on how to configure your database, Windows server, and Certificate Authority
for Afaria operations. It also describes how to acquire and import Apple certificates required for iOS device
management. It includes topics previously found in the Preparing to Install section of the Installation Guide
● Installing Afaria – This module provides the tasks to install Afaria components such as the Afaria Server, the
Enrollment Server, the Package Server, and the Self-Service Portal. It includes topics previously found in the
Installation Guide
● Configuring Afaria – This module provides the tasks to configure Afaria using the Afaria Administration
console. It describes the settings on the Server configuration pages and includes tasks for configuring the
Afaria Server and components, creating roles and tenants, and setting security settings. It includes topics
previously found in the Installation Guide and Administration Reference.
● Device Management – This module provides the tasks for managing devices including: creating groups,
creating application and configuration policies, enrolling devices, and administering and monitoring devices. It
includes topics previously found in the Administration Reference.
