ANTI STILI...UNA PASSION INSTRUCTION MANUAL Dream - Dream T LSC 024- Rev. 00 - Ed. 11/2014 Dream - Dream T espresso coffee machines WEEE Disposal of the equipment by the users within the European Community ( WEEE) in compliance with the article 13 of the legislative decree issued on 25 July 2005, nr151 ”Implementation of the directives 2002/95/CE,2002/96/CE e 2003/108/CE, concerning the decrease in the usage of dangerous substances in the electrical and electronic equipment and the disposal of waste”. The symbol of the crossed waste bin indicated on the equipment or on the packaging means that the product at the end of its lifetime must be disposed of separately from all the other waste. The separate collection of this equipment coming at the end of its lifetime is organized and run by the importer/distributor. The user who should have to dispose of such equipment should get in touch with the importer/ distributor and follow the procedure they have adopted for the separate disposal of the equipment coming at the end of its lifetime. The proper separate disposal of disused equipment so that it can be recycled and treated according what is environmentally compatible contributes to avoid possible negative effects on the Environment and on Health and allows the reutilization and/or the recycling of the materials the equipment is composed of. The improper disposal by the user causes the enforcement of the administrative sanctions according to current regulations. GENERAL ADVICE FOR THE INSTALLER DREAM T Read carefully the instructions and warnings contained in this manual, since they provide important indications concerning the installation of the appliance. Attention! The client must prepare the wiring system so that it is in an ideal position for the correct installation of the machine. The installation engineer cannot change the existing system put in place by the customer. See chapter 2.2: “installation”. Attention! The appliance must be installed where use and maintenance are restricted to trained staff. 2.1 GENERAL WARNINGS Attention! CAREFULLY READ THE FOLLOWING WARNINGS, WHICH OFFER IMPORTANT GUIDELINES FOR THE SAFE USE AND MAINTENANCE OF THE APPLIANCE. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for any damage caused by improper, incorrect or unreasonable use. Installation must be carried out by qualified personnel according to current laws and to the manufacturer’s instructions. Incorrect installation may cause damage to people, animals or property for which the manufacturer cannot be held liable. 6 LSC 024 - Rev. 00 - Ed. 11/2014 Dream - Dream T espresso coffee machines Danger! The electrical safety of the appliance is fully achieved only after it has been correctly connected to an earthing system as required by the laws in force. It is necessary to have the earthing connection checked by professionally qualified personnel. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for any damage caused by the lack or inefficiency of the system’s earthing connection. The appliance has not been designed for outdoor use. It must only be operated in a place where the ambient temperature is between +5 °C and +40 °C. Attention! The use of any electrical appliance also requires observance of the following important regulations. • • • • • • • • • • • • Do not touch the appliance with wet or damp hands or feet. Do not use the appliance barefooted. Do not pull the power supply cord to unplug the appliance from the mains power. Do not allow children or unqualified persons to use the appliance. Access to the appliance’s service area must be restricted to those persons with the relevant practical experience and familiarity with the appliance itself, especially in terms of safety and hygiene. The device is not intend to be used by people ( children included) whose physical , sensory or mental capability are reduced, unless they could benefit, through the intermediation of a person in charge of their safety, of a guard or of instructions concerning the device’s use. Children must be kept under surveillance to be sure they wouldn’t play with the device. Always disconnect the appliance from the mains power supply before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance. Before carrying out any routine maintenance or cleaning operation, disconnect the appliance from the mains power and shut off the water supply tap. In the event of damage and/or malfunction of the appliance, switch it off completely without trying to make any direct repairs. Contact the nearest Service Centre authorised by the manufacturer. In order to guarantee the proper efficiency and operation of the appliance, it is fundamentally important to follow the manufacturer’s instructions, and to follow a regular maintenance schedule. The appliance has IPX2 protection against water and therefore, it cannot be installed in areas where it may be subject to jets of water. The appliance has class I protection against electric shocks. LSC 024 - Rev. 00 - Ed. 11/2014 7 Dream - Dream T espresso coffee machines • The noise emitted by the appliance during normal operation is less than 70 dB. • The appliance is supplied without water in the boiler to prevent that exposure to cold temperatures can cause irreparable damage. • The unit should be operated only with cold water intended for human consumption. Attention! Failure to comply with the above regulations could jeopardise the correct operation and safety of the appliance as well as its useful lifetime. 2.2INSTALLATION • This appliance is not for built-in installation. • The appliance needs to be installed so that the plug to disconnect it from the mains power supply remains accessible. • This appliance must only be used for the purpose for which it was designed. All other uses are to be considered improper and therefore, unreasonable. The manufacturer cannot accept any liability for damage caused through improper or unreasonable use. • The appliance must be placed on a flat surface able to guarantee a sturdy support and a work top height of no less than 1.2 metres from floor height. • The electrical safety of the appliance is only achieved once the appliance is correctly connected to an efficient earthing system, installed as per current laws and regulations. Attention! Before connecting the plug to the mains power system, make sure that the data on the rating plate are in line with those in the place of installation. 8 LSC 024 - Rev. 00 - Ed. 11/2014 Dream - Dream T espresso coffee machines 3. GENERAL ADVICE FOR THE INSTALLER DREAM Attention! This appliance may only be used for its intended purpose. Any other use is therefore considered as improper and unreasonable. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for any damage caused by improper, incorrect or unreasonableuse. Attention! Make sure that the power rating of the system arranged by the customer corresponds to the highest rating indicated on the rating plate of the equipment. Danger! The appliance must be supplied exclusively with cold drinking water. Maximum mains pressure (staticpressure) must not be higher than 0.6 MPa. Danger! If in doubt, concerning the above mentioned requirements (about the system previously installed by the customer), please have them checked by qualified staff. Danger! Installation must be carried out by qualified personnel according to current laws and to the manufacturer’s instructions. Incorrect installation may cause damage to people, animals or property for which the manufacturer cannot be held liable. Attention! The appliance must be installed on a flat bearing surface, the stability of which needs to be checked. Attention! The appliance must be installed where use and maintenance are restricted to trained staff. The electrical power system, water supply system and drainage system must prearranged by the customer in an ideal position to permit the correct installation. The installer cannot modify existing systems that have been arranged by the customer. 10 LSC 024 - Rev. 00 - Ed. 11/2014 Dream - Dream T espresso coffee machines 4INSTALLATION Legend: 4.1 electric installation scheme 1Main switch (prearranged by the customer). When carrying out the electric connections, please take into consideration all warnings and indications provided so far in this manual. Furthermore, in order to avoid dangerous overheating, unwind completely the feeding cable. 1. Connect the cable A directly to the socket 1. A 1 Fig. 4 LSC 024 - Rev. 00 - Ed. 11/2014 11 Dream - Dream T espresso coffee machines 4.2 WATER MAINS installation scheme Legend: 1Water tap (prearranged by the customer); 2 Water softener (optional); 3 Flexible pipes resisting high pressure (provided with the machine). Attention! The equipment is supplied without water in the boiler so as to prevent the boiler from being badly damaged, should the equipment be exposed to temperatures lower than “0”. Carry out connections according to the picture and take into account what follows: • Hoses must not be kicked, squashed nor twisted; • Fasten finaly, but without exerting too much pressure, the hose connectors 3. 1 3 Attention! THE INSTALLATION OF THE WATER SOFTENER IS RECOMMENDED IN ORDER FOR THE MACHINE TO LAST LONGER. 2 Fig. 5 Install the water softener according to the instructions and regulations provided by its manufacturer. The water softener needs to be placed in an easily accessible place in order to allow the performance of the regeneration when due and generally close to the water siphon. Attention! If the water softener is not used it is recommended to apply a filter on the water inlet pipe in order to prevent impurities from damaging the motor pump or the machine. 12 LSC 024 - Rev. 00 - Ed. 11/2014 Dream - Dream T espresso coffee machines 4.3 WARNING/TECHNICAL DATA LABELS AND NAMEPLATES APPLIED TO THE MACHINE In the figure below are shown the warning/technical data labels and nameplates positioned on the machine. Warning! Dedicate the time necessary to familiarise yourself with these labels. Ensure that they are readable and keep them clean or replace those that have deteriorated or illegible (both the text and the graphics). Use a soft cloth, soap and water to clean the labels. Do not use solvents, petrol, etc. If a label is positioned on a component part that has to be replaced, ensure that the new component has the same label applied or a new one. REMOVING THE PACKAGING After unpacking the machine, please check its integrity; in case of doubt, do not use it and consult the manufacturer. Packaging materials must not be left within children’s reach since they are potentially dangerous. Attention! The appliance weight is more than 30 kg and therefore, it cannot be moved by a single person alone. Take note! Dispose of the packaging as per the norms in force of the country in which the machine is utilised. 5.1 STANDARD EQUIPMENT OF THE MACHINE IN COFFEE POWDER CONFIGURATION KEY A. DREAM T First Time Set Up 6.1 FILLING THE WATER TANK A.Remove the drip tray (7). B. Then take out the container (10) and fill it with cold drinking water. C. Refit the water container (10), pushing it all the way down to the bottom and then refit the tray (7). 6.2 FIRST-TIME APPLIANCE INSTALLATION Attention! When the appliance is installed for the first time, carry out the steps listed below. A. Plug the appliance into the mains power source. 6.3 Filling the coffee boiler Warning! DO NOT turn the machine on until the steps below have been completed. Failure to do so will damage the machine and will not be covered under warranty. Plug the machine into the electrical outlet, but do NOT turn it on. With the machine in Stand-by mode, press and hold the button for approximately 5 seconds. The display will then show the message shown to the right. Press and hold either the single or double shot button to start filling the coffee boiler. Keep holding the button until you have water coming out of the group head for at least 20 seconds. When done press the button to return to standby mode. After filling the coffee boiler then refill the water reservoir before turning the machine on so there will enough water to fill the steam boiler. LSC 024 - Rev. 00 - Ed. 11/2014 Fig. 7 15 Dream - Dream T espresso coffee machines 6.4 Turning the machine on for the first time Warning! DO NOT turn the machine on until the steps above have been completed. Failure to do so will damage the machine and will not be covered under warranty. Press and hold the button for 3 seconds, the display shows LASPAZIALE logo for some seconds and then the HOME SCREEN. Whichever portafilter you intend to use then lock it into the grouphead so it will warm up with the machine. Fig. 8 If you plan on using the steam boiler for steaming milk then press the button. The boiler autofill function will be enabled automatically, until the factory-set water level is reached. When the automatic water refill system is working, the display shows the symbol on the upper right corner. Allow the machine to heat up for at least 30 minutes for optimal performance and temperature stability. It is very important to keep the portafilter in the grouphead and also keep the cups on the cup warming tray. 16 Fig. 9 LSC 024 - Rev. 00 - Ed. 11/2014 espresso coffee machines Dream - Dream T 7. DREAM FIRST SET UP 1. Press and hold the POWER BUTTON button for 3 seconds, until the display lights up. 2. Whichever portafilter you intend to use then lock it into the grouphead so it will warm up with the machine. 3. If you plan on using the steam boiler for steaming milk then press the BOILER button. The pump will come on to start filling the steam boiler and will turn off once it is filled. 4. If at any time the message “Low Water Pressure” or “Missing Water Connection” show on the display then check to make sure the water is turned on to the machine and then repeat step 1 again. 5.After the pump has turned off from filling the steam boiler then press the button for approximately 15 seconds until you have water flowing from the grouphead and then press the button again to stop the flow. 6.Allow the machine to heat up for at least 30 minutes for optimal performance and temperature stability. It is very important to keep the portafilter in the grouphead and also keep the cups on the cup warming tray. Failure to do so will result in a cold and sour shot. LSC 024 - Rev. 00 - Ed. 11/2014 17 Dream - Dream T espresso coffee machines 8 MAKING COFFEE There are a few ways you can pull a shot with the S1 Dream-T. You can use one of the two programmable shot buttons, single or double . These buttons can be individually programmed for volume. The shots will automatically stop delivering at the desired level or you can press the same button again to stop the shot at any time. Fig. 10 When one of the two programmable button is pressed, the display shows the shot time bar relative to the total programmed shot time and the “6s” indicates that we are 6 seconds into the shot. The final time value at the end of the shot remains for 10 seconds or until the next shot is started, whichever comes first. The two cup icon on the left indicates that the 2 cup button was pushed. Alternately, the one cup icon would display. You can also pull a shot using the manual button . Fig. 11 The manual button will use the existing temperature setting, but will not turn off on its own. To pull a shot with the manual button press the button to start the shot and then press the button again to stop the shot when it has reached the desired level. This button is also useful for cleaning the group, backflushing, and rinsing or pre-heating the portafilter. 18 LSC 024 - Rev. 00 - Ed. 11/2014 Dream - Dream T espresso coffee machines 9 DISPENSING STEAM Warning! This is only possible with the boiler switched ON. 1. Insert the steam wand (1) into a jug containing the drink to be heated. 2. Turn the steam knob (3) anticlockwise. 3.After heating the drink, turn the knob (3) clockwise to stop the steam flow. 4.Remove the jug from the steam wand (1) and clean the wand immediately with a wet sponge to remove all residues of the heated drink. Attention! Do not turn the knob 3 to deliver steam before inserting the steam wand 1 into the pitcher in order to prevent possible burns. Take note! The hot water can be delivered in manual or automatic way (see the programming menu page 21). If the hot water delivery is set in manual way, the display shows the following symbol. Fig. 13 AUTOMATIC SYSTEM TO DELIVERY HOT WATER FOR INFUSIONS A. Place the pitcher underneath the hot water faucet (2). B. Press the button for hot water faucet (2). C. The water will be delivered for the programmed time set. MANUAL SYSTEM TO DELIVERY HOT WATER A. Place the pitcher underneath the hot water faucet (2). B. Press the button (d) for hot water delivery. C. Press again the same button (d) to stop the delivery in progress. Take note! Do not press the button for hot water delivery (d) before placing the pitcher below the hot water spout, in order to prevent possible burns. 20 LSC 024 - Rev. 00 - Ed. 11/2014 Dream - Dream T espresso coffee machines 10 PROGRAMMING THE MACHINE Press and hold the to enter in the MAIN MENU, the display shows a series of icons, each icons corresponding to a function. Fig. 14 10.1 NAVIGATION MENU Press the up/down arrow button to move through the menu, each time the buttons are pressed, next icon get bigger and the name of the function appears on the top of the display. Press and hold the up/down arrow button to move fast through the menu. This enables the beep tone to be turned on or off when the buttons are pressed. LANGUAGE The language of the machine can be changed to Italian, German, American English, or British - English and Spanish. BACKLIGHT LCD This enables the user to select the timeout feature to turn the display off when not in use. TIMER The timer feature allows the user to have the machine be turned on and off at 3 different time Intervals. COUNTER PROGRAM COFFEE TEMPERATURE 22 This enables the user to change the date format of the machine The counters keep track of the amount of drinks being delivered. Allows the user to program user profiles such as coffee temperature, volume, etc. Allows the user to set the coffee temperature. BOILER TEMPERATURE Allows the user to set the hot water and steam boiler temperature. COFFEE DOSES Allow the user to set the coffee doses. HOT WATER Allow the user to set the hot water deliver method (manual or automatic) PREINFUSION Allow the user to set the pre-infusion time (this function is not available for DREAMT version) LSC 024 - Rev. 00 - Ed. 11/2014 Dream - Dream T espresso coffee machines M.A.T. PROFILE NAME Allow the user to set the M.A.T. system (not available, yet) Allow the user to personalize the name of the user. SERVICE This feature when enabled will give an alarm message on the display to indicate the machine is Due for service. FILTE This feature when enabled will give a message to indicate that the filter needs to be replaced. ALARMS Gives the status of any active alarms in the machine READ Allows the user to copy the parameters (coffee group temperature, volume etc.) from the appliance to the SD CARD. WRITE Allows the user to copy the parameters (coffee group temperature, volume etc.) from the SD CARD to the machine. LED The Barista LED lights can be turned on, off, or auto mode. In auto mode the LED’s will only light up when a shot is being drawn. GRINDING This feature when enabled will give the user a notice while brewing if the grind is too fine or coarse. EGS When enabled the system will release a small amount of water from the grouphead after 20 minutes of inactivity, to keep wet the coffee pack. AUTOMATIC SHOUTDOWN When enabled the machine will automatically turn itself off after a pre-set period of inactivity. LSC 024 - Rev. 00 - Ed. 11/2014 23 Dream - Dream T GROUP CLEANING SCREENSAVER TIME UPDATE CONTRAST espresso coffee machines Allows the user to backflush the machine without being stored in the counter menu. the display shows a picture after 2 minutes of inactivity. Chose to have daylight savings time activated. This function change the contrast setting of the display. DEACTIVATE PRESSURE SEN- Allows the user to deactivate the pressure sensor for the pump pressure shown on SOR the display. This function is available only for DREAM models. PASSWORD SOFTWARE UPDATE DEFAULT SETTONGS Set Calibrate T FULL POWER OFF SET PID 24 Allows the user to create a password to block access to the main menu. Allows the user to update the firmware in their machine. Restores the machine to its original factory settings. Calibration of the BOILER temperature sensor. The S1 Dream can be set up to work in full power mode or in ECONOMY mode. Tuesday as well as any other days are programmed just the same as Monday, the currently active day of the week shows in the top bar. If you don’t really want to change Tuesday, just press the Menu button until you get to another screen similar to this that only displays “ Wednesday” with no Copy option. It is a no block alarm. • FAILED COFFEE GROUP TEMPERATURE: When, 5 minutes after switching on the machine, the temperature detected by the probe is less than 60 °C. It is a block alarm. • HIGH COFFEE GROUP TEMPERATURE: the group temperature probe detects 125° C. It is a block alarm. • LOW WATER PRESSURE: the PRESSURE SENSOR (not available in the DREAM T) detects a water pressure less than 1 bar, for 3 consecutive seconds. It is a no block alarm. • HIGH WATER PRESSURE: the PRESSURE SENSOR (not available in the DREAM T) detects a water pressure greater than 6 bar, for 3 consecutive seconds. It is a no block alarm. • LOW PUMP PRESSURE: the PRESSURE SENSOR (not available in the DREAM T) detects a pressure less than 6 bar after 5 seconds of delivery. It is a no block alarm. • HIGH PUMP PRESSURE: the PRESSURE SENSOR (not available in the DREAM T) detects a pressure greater than 12 bar after 5 seconds of delivery. It is a no block alaram. • TOO FINE GRIND: the coffee ground delivered by the machine is too fine. • FLOW METER FAILURE: the appliance cannot detect the impulses generated by the flowmeter. It is a no block alarm. • MISSING WATER CONNECTION: the PRESSURE SENSORE (not available in the DREAM T) detects that the water pressure is 0 bar, for 3 consecutive seconds. It is a block alarm. • FAILED COMMUNICAT. TOUCH KEYBOARD: the TOUCH KEYBOARD is not detected by the MAIN CPU. It is a no block alarm. • DAMAGED TIMEKEEPER: the clock module is damaged. To grant the efficiency of the appliance and to maintain correct operation, it is necessary to follow the manufacturer’s instructions as to cleaning and regular maintenance. Attention! Cleaning and routine maintenance operations must be carried out by the user according to the manufacturer’s instructions given here below. Before carrying out any kind of cleaning operation, disconnect the appliance from the electricity mains and from the gas system (if fitted). Cleaning and routine maintenance operations must be carried out when the machine is cold and using protective gloves to prevent abrasions.
