1. INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing the Inca 200W frost protection heater. The Inca provides low levels of heating for an area needing to be protected from frost, such as changing rooms, caravans, cloakrooms, workshops or conservatories.

2. IMPORTANT SAFETY POINTS

THE APPLIANCE MUST ONLY BE CONNECTED TO A SINGLE

PHASE SUPPLY.

THE PRODUCT SHOULD ONLY BE CONNECTED TO A SUPPLY THAT

MEETS THE SPECIFICATIONS DETAILED ON THE RATING LABEL.

ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT BY A

QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LATEST

EDITION OF THE IEE WIRING REGULATIONS.

THE APPLIANCE IS NOT INTENDED FOR USE BY PERSONS (INCLUDING

CHILDREN) WITH REDUCED PHYSICAL, SENSORY OR MENTAL

CAPABILITIES, OR LACK OF EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE,

UNLESS THEY HAVE BEEN GIVEN SUPERVISION OR INSTRUCTION

CONCERNING THE SAFE USE OF THE APPLIANCE BY A PERSON

RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR SAFETY.

DO NOT USE THE HEATER IF THE POWER CORD SHOWS ANY SIGN

OF DAMAGE.

CHILDREN SHOULD BE SUPERVISED TO ENSURE THEY DO NOT PLAY

WITH THE APPLIANCE.

NOT SUITABLE FOR OUTDOOR USE.

WARNING: IN ORDER TO AVOID OVERHEATING, DO NOT COVER

THE HEATER.

THE SURFACE OF THIS APPLIANCE CAN BECOME HOT; NEVER LEAVE

VERY YOUNG CHILDREN OR VERY VULNERABLE PEOPLE UNSUPERVISED

WITH THE HEATER.

CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE PEOPLE SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED TO

CLEAN OR PERFORM MAINTENANCE OF THE HEATER UNSUPERVISED.

3. INSTALLATION

THE HEATER MUST NOT BE LOCATED IMMEDIATELY BELOW

A SOCKET.

ONLY MOUNT THE UNIT VERTICALLY AS SHOWN IN THE

INSTALLATION DIAGRAM.

DO NOT INSTALL THE HEATER WHERE SOMEBODY COULD EASILY

REACH IT WHILST IN THE BATH/SHOWER.

KEEP ALL COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS SUCH AS FURNITURE, CURTAINS,

PAPER AT LEAST 100CM FROM THE HEATER.

DO NOT USE THE HEATER IN AREAS WHERE PETROL, PAINT,

OR FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS ARE USED OR STORED.

1 When selecting the final mounting position, ensure the minimum distance of 30cm to any surface is maintained.

ALWAYS ENSURE THERE ARE NO HIDDEN CABLES OR PIPES BEFORE

COMMENCING DRILLING.

The heater has two key hole slots at the top on the rear of the product.

Mark and drill two holes 10cm apart and insert the supplied wall plugs.

Insert the supplied screws leaving approx. 5mm protruding.

3 Hang the unit on the wall via the key hole slots onto the two screws previously inserted. Mark the two lower lugs before removing the heater, drilling and inserting the two wall plugs.

4 Relocate the heater onto the upper lugs before inserting and fully tightening the final two screws at the base.

4. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

THE PRODUCT SHOULD ONLY BE CONNECTED TO A SUPPLY THAT

MEETS THE SPECIFICATIONS DETAILED ON THE RATING LABEL.

DO NOT USE THE HEATER IN CONJUNCTION WITH ANY

AUTOMATIC SWITCHING DEVICE SUCH AS A TIMER, SINCE A

FIRE RISK EXISTS IF THE HEATER IS COVERED OR POSITIONED

INCORRECTLY.

The product is supplied with a 3amp BSP but if it is to be connected to the fixed wiring of the installation electrical connections should be made as follows:

Brown/Red live wire to the terminal marked “L”

Blue/Black neutral wire to the terminal marked “N”

Green/Yellow earth wire to the terminal marked “ E” or

5. OPERATION

Turn the thermostat knob fully clockwise to select the maximum setting, once the desired room temperature is achieved turn the thermostat knob anti-clockwise until a click is heard. The heater will now maintain this temperature until the thermostat knob is adjusted again. The minimum setting of the heater is approx. 0 ͦC.

6. MAINTENANCE

The heater should be examined for signs of physical damage at regular intervals, if any signs of damage or overheating are present on either the heater or the power cord; discontinue use of the heater immediately and contact an electrician or the Hyco technical line for further advice.

To clean the product, first isolate the heater from the mains power supply and then wipe the exterior with a clean damp cloth. Allow the heater to dry before turning the mains power back on.

8. GUARANTEE AND SERVICE POLICY

This product is guaranteed against faulty materials and manufacture for a period of one year from the date of purchase. Hyco will in its sole discretion replace, repair or refund any faulty unit. Defects arising from incorrect installation are excluded.

Consequential costs such as labour charges or damage to fittings and surroundings are expressly excluded.

INFORMATION FOR CORRECT DISPOSAL OF THE PRODUCT IN

ACCORDANCE WITH THE EUROPEAN DIRECTIVE 2002/96/E.

At the end of its working life this equipment must not be disposed of as household waste. It must be taken to a local authority waste collection centre or to a dealer providing this service. Disposing of electrical and electronic equipment separately enables its components to be recovered and recycled to obtain significant savings in energy and resources. In order to underline the duty to dispose of this equipment separately, the product is marked with a crossed out dustbin.
