Cosmetal was founded in the late 1950s as an artisan business producing keyboards for electronic organs. In the 1960s, it evolved, developing the necessary expertise to build increasingly technological equipment featuring a significant engineering component. Striving for constant growth and supported by the success of a strong export business, Cosmetal approached the new century with a focus on a wide range of products and models in order to meet the demands of the market and its customers. 3 Tecnologia Technology Raffreddamento a Banco di Ghiaccio È una tecnologia di raffreddamento altamente performante; refrigera notevoli quantità d’acqua e permette di mantenere costante la temperatura dell’erogazione anche per prelievi di molti litri in continuo. Il sistema di raffreddamento a “banco di ghiaccio” consiste in due serpentine, una in acciaio inox ed una in rame, immerse in una vasca piena d’acqua. La serpentina in rame contenente il gas refrigerante, ghiaccia l’acqua contenuta all’interno della vasca producendo una riserva di freddo la quale a sua volta raffredda l’acqua potabile che scorre all’interno dell’altra serpentina, in acciaio inox. In questo modo si ha una maggiore performance del refrigeratore e soprattutto si assicura l’igiene e la qualità dell’acqua che è in continuo scorrimento e non si accumula. Ice Bank Cooling System This high performance cooling technology cools considerable quantities of water and enables the dispensing temperature to be kept constant even when continuously dispensing many litres. The “ice bank” cooling system consists of a stainless steel coil and a copper coil immersed in a reservoir full of water. The copper coil containing the refrigerant gas freezes the water contained within the reservoir producing a cold supply, which in turn cools the drinking water flowing through the stainless steel coil. In this way the water cooler offers greater performance and in particular it ensures the hygiene and quality of the water which is continuously flowing and never stagnating. Raffreddamento Diretto È un modo pratico, semplice e molto efficace per raffreddare l’acqua velocemente; il flusso continuo dell’acqua, senza ristagni, dalla rete idrica sino al punto di erogazione limita la proliferazione batterica e garantisce elevati standard igienici. L’acqua proveniente dalla rete idrica scorre attraverso una serpentina in acciaio inox, la quale è a stretto contatto con un’altra serpentina - un evaporatore in rame - che contiene il gas refrigerante. Per conduzione il freddo provocato dal gas refrigerante si trasmette alla serpentina dentro alla quale scorre l’acqua da bere, che a sua volta viene così raffreddata. Direct Cooling System This is a practical, simple and very effective way of cooling water quickly; the water never remains still but continuously flows from the water mains to the water dispensing point, thus limiting bacterial proliferation and guaranteeing high hygiene standards. Water from the water passes through a stainless steel coil, which is in close contact with another coil – a copper evaporator – containing the cooling gas. The cold produced by the cooling gas is transmitted by conduction to the coil through which the drinking water flows, thus cooling it down. L’acqua ricevuta dalla rete idrica viene convogliata al serbatoio dove viene raffreddata grazie all’impianto frigorifero. Il serbatoio è coibentato con un rivestimento in polistirolo espanso per mantenere bassa la temperatura. Reservoir Cooling System This is the classic system which stands out for its simplicity of operation. It is particularly suitable where there is a high consumption of water and in those countries where higher temperatures affect cooling capacity. Water is carried from the mains to the tank where it is cooled by the cooling system. The tank is insulated with expanded polystyrene to maintain low temperatures. La pompa spinge l’acqua fredda nel gasatore e questa per effetto della pressione si nebulizza con effetto “spray”. Contemporaneamente entra nel gasatore la CO2 (anidride carbonica alimentare), con una pressione regolata. All’interno del gasatore, le molecole di CO2 si fissano a quelle di acqua, producendo così acqua gassata di ottima qualità. Cold carbonation This is the best available technology for producing carbonated water with a strong lasting taste. A pump drives water through the carbonation device converting it into a “spray” as a consequence of the pressure. At the same time, CO2 (food grade carbon dioxide) is introduced into the carbonation device at a regulated pressure. Within the carbonation device, the molecules of CO2 join with the molecules of water producing carbonated water of the highest quality. All water coolers in the WG (chilled/sparkling) and HWG (chilled/hot and sparkling) series feature this technology. 4 Tecnologia Technology Riscaldamento a serbatoio È un sistema semplice ed efficace per riscaldare l’acqua proveniente dalla rete idrica contenendo i consumi energetici. Un termostato fa si che l’acqua sia mantenuta a temperatura costante intervenendo solamente quando necessario. Water from the mains is conveyed through pipes to the insulated hot water tank where it is heated by an internal stainless steel heating element. A thermostat ensures that the water is maintained at a constant temperature, operating only when necessary. All water coolers in the H (chilled/hot) and HWG (chilled/hot and sparkling) series feature this technology. Il sistema debatterizzante UV, posto in prossimità dei beccucci erogatori, con i suoi raggi ultravioletti impedisce l’ingresso di batteri dall’ambiente esterno, la cosiddetta retrocontaminazione, preservando l’igiene della macchina e bloccando la diffusione dei microrganismi. Il nuovo erogatore Aquality monta una lampada circolare, di nuova generazione, l’UV Barrier, la quale, grazie a questa particolare forma, offre una protezione ancora più efficace. Preservare l’igiene dei refrigeratori rientra in un progetto di dimensioni più ampie che prevede la progettazione dei prodotti con rubinetti protetti e con comandi lontani dal punto di prelievo; questa è infatti una filosofia che Cosmetal applica già da diversi anni sui suoi refrigeratori. HYGIENE Anti-bacterial UV system Tecnologia UV Barrier UV Barrier technology Anti-bacterial UV system The UV rays protect the dispensing area - which is exposed to environmental contamination – preventing bacterial proliferation in this area. Thanks to its ultraviolet rays, the anti-bacterial UV system placed close to water dispensing spouts prevents the introduction of bacteria from the external environment (i.e. back contamination), keeps the machine hygienic and stops the spread of micro organisms. The new Aquality water cooler is equipped with a new generation UV lamp, the UV barrier, which thanks to its circular shape provides an even more effective protection. Our commitment to hygiene is evidenced by our efforts to develop products with protected taps and controls placed at a distance from the dispensing point. Cosmetal has been applying this philosophy to its water coolers for several years. The UV protection is available as an option on all Connect and Aquality. Controllo elettronico Permette di personalizzare le funzioni del refrigeratore e monitorarne il funzionamento in tempo reale in modo da ottimizzare la manutenzione. Il menu di programmazione è disponibile in 3 lingue: italiano, inglese e tedesco. La temperatura del banco di ghiaccio viene regolata con un termostato elettronico il quale assicura una notevole precisione. Le operazioni di impostazione sono gestite in modo semplice e veloce attraverso un display, il quale consente di controllare in qualsiasi momento i valori di temperatura impostati e quelli riscontrati. Con la programmazione della dose è possibile pre-impostare la quantità di acqua che si desidera far erogare al refrigeratore dando oltretutto la possibilità di memorizzare due diversi dosaggi, “large” e “small”. Avviando l’erogazione, la macchina riempie in automatico, con un solo gesto, bicchieri (dose “small”) o caraffe (dose “large”). È possibile tenere sotto controllo i volumi di acqua utilizzata, sia totali che parziali, attraverso il contadosi volumetrico. Il funzionamento del refrigeratore viene costantemente monitorato grazie al Self Diagnostic System - sistema di autodiagnosi - il quale segnala tempestivamente i malfunzionamenti o la necessità di interventi per la sostituzione di filtri o della bombola di CO2 alimentare. In risposta alla crescente coscienza ambientalista, la linea Niagara è dotata di Energy Saving - il dispositivo che consente di ridurre il consumo di energia quando la macchina non viene utilizzata. Impostando la macchina in modalità “energy saving / risparmio energetico”, il refrigeratore riduce i cicli del compressore, mantenendo però la temperatura necessaria per un veloce ripristino delle piene prestazioni. Electronic control Our electronic control allows for customizing the water cooler’s functions and monitoring its functions in real time so as to optimize maintenance. The program menu is available in 3 languages: Italian, English and German. The temperature of the ice bank is regulated by an electronic thermostat which ensures greater precision. Set-up is quick and easy thanks to a screen on which the programmed temperature and the actual temperature can be displayed at any time. By programming the size of a serving it is possible to pre-set the quantity of water dispensed from the water cooler. It can be programmed for two different quantities, “large” and “small”. With a single push of a button, the machine will automatically fill glasses (small serving) or jugs (large serving). Total and partial water consumption volumes can be checked through the flow meter controlled serving counter. The functioning of the water cooler is constantly monitored thanks to the Self Diagnostic System, which, when necessary, reports malfunctions or the need to replace filters or the CO2 cylinder. In response to increasing environmental awareness, the Niagara product features Energy Saving – a device which reduces the consumption of energy when the machine is not in use. By setting the machine to “energy saving” mode, the water cooler reduces the compressor cycles, but maintains a low enough temperature to quickly revert to full performance.
