Simply turn on and listen to the loop output through the headphones. Adjust volume as required. Battery: Insert battery in base. To use: Turn on the tester by plugging in the headphones, the power ‘ON’ LED will light up. Turn off by unplugging headphones, LED will go out. Adjust volume to a comfortable level with the volume level knob. Clip unit to pocket or belt. Keep unit vertical in use. LO CUT switch: To improve speech intelligibility or to reduce background noise, set the ‘LO CUT’ switch to ON (this will suppress low frequencies). Walk around the looped area, ensuring that you can hear the loop signal clearly and without interference. If you encounter any significant drop in volume (field strength) or intrusive unwanted magnetic interference (eg. lighting transformer, faulty mains wiring, data cabling etc.), try to identify the cause of the problem and rectify it.
