The Wireless VPS III offers the ultimate in computer presentation
sharing. If you have a meeting room with a VGA projector and you
want a lot of people in that room to share their screens with others,
then this affordable, plug-and-play receiver is your solution.
This latest version of the popular Wi-FI receiver not only supports
presentation sharing through 4-to-1 split-screen and 1-to-4 projection,
it also provides 802.11n Wi-Fi support — delivering up to five times
the throughput and greater range of earlier Wi-Fi technology. The
802.11b/g/n compatibility means it can communicate with latest
mobile devices, too.
The Wireless VPS III outputs images and video for display at XGA
and WXGA resolutions in 32-bit color. It also features media playback
for playing video through a projector at smooth 30-fps speed.
It transmits audio, too. Users can send audio along with video in
a presentation for full multimedia sharing. A 3.5-mm jack on the back
of the unit enables you to connect to exterior speakers or a surroundsound system in an auditorium.
The system supports various media formats: MP3, MPEG1 (.mpg,
.dat), MPEG2 (.mpg, .VOB), and MPEG4 (.wmv9, .asf) media, as well
as DivX® 3/4/5, Xvid, and H.264 (.mov) files.
Technically Speaking
The Wireless VPS III plugs into a projector or any display
device with a VGA port. Wallmountable, it functions as both
a wireless receiver and an 802.11b/g/n access point, enabling
as many as 254 laptop or other Wi-Fi users to log in and
display their computer screen video from hundreds of feet
away*. The system’s application software captures the images
and sends them through 2.4-GHz radio waves to the receiver
for output.
In standard Presentation Mode, meeting participants can
project their computer screens. They can launch PowerPoint®
Viewer or another application or open any file (such as a
Word document or JPG image), and it will be projected
wirelessly through the Wireless VPS III for overhead display.
Even better, it also has a Video Mode, through which
users can choose a video or audio file from their computers
for playing for an entire room†. A magnifier feature enlarges a
small video region to play back with full screen.
* Under optimum conditions, depending on the environment.
Ideal for:
Corporate conference rooms.
Training applications.
K–12 or college classrooms.
University lecture halls or auditoriums.
Convention hall or conference center meeting rooms.
Visitor presentations in high-security buildings.
uality of video playback may vary. Some buffering may occur.
The Wireless VPS III is designed primarily to be a wireless
presentation sharing device, not a wireless video streaming device.

LCDs with
VGA Input
Once connected to the projector via a browser
connection, you just key in the login code seen on
the big projector’s overhead screen…
...then click the play button…
...for you to start projecting your Wi-Fi laptop!
You also have the ability to control access to the
presentation by others in the room, determining their
order of presentation or, when using the 4-to-1
function, assigning them to a quadrant on the screen.
In Video Mode, you can choose a video/audio file for
playing on the screen. Buttons enable you to play
and stop the video/audio and control the volume.
A progress bar shows the file’s length.

Plug and show.
With the accompanying Plug & Show USB token, wireless
presentation becomes easy for all your meeting participants. Just
link your PC or laptop to the Wireless VPS III through a WLAN or an
Ethernet connection, plug the token into a USB port, and in seconds,
your screen will be wirelessly projected to the projector and, in turn,
onto an overhead screen seen by the entire room.
Simple, Web-based control interface.
This makes it easy for an administrator to control the entire
presentation. The interface has clear headings for conference
participants, and with a touch of a button, you decide the sequence
and order of conference presenters. What’s more, it features a userfriendly SNMP application. Through it you can configure and manage
device settings on multiple Wireless VPS III receivers.
4-to-1 split-screen projection.
With this, the Wireless VPS III displays up to four user screens
through a projector at the same time. The individual screens are
shown in quadrants, which makes it great for education and training
applications where multiple users can compare work and share
information. Just what you need to enhance meeting productivity.
Magnifier feature for enlarging images.
The Wireless VPS III has a magnifier feature for a codec-free video
clip watching experience. By dragging and dropping the video into
the magnifier capture region, you’ll be able to watch the video on a
big screen for the best experience.
Plus 1-to-4 screen projection.
Because the system supports 1-to-4 screen projection, an
individual user can project his or her screen on four separate screens
at the same time (four Wireless VPS III units are required). This feature
supports both standard PC Presentation mode and Video Mode. This
is particularly ideal for sharing information among users in different
meeting rooms or classrooms.
You control conference participants.
The Wireless VPS III’s conference control function helps you
moderate a conference. You control the order of projection from
connected users’ PCs or devices, as well as assign quadrants to each
presenter during a 4-to-1 split-screen session and, in 1-to-4 setups,
which users get to have their PC video displayed on which screen.
PDA wireless projection.
You don’t need a laptop or
desktop computer to link to the
Wireless VPS III. Simply use your
handheld PDA/Windows Mobile
device to browse to the receiver
through Wi-Fi and join the
presentation. You can project photos
stored on your phone to the big
screen, run a photo slideshow, show
videos in .mpeg or .wmv9 format,
or play MP3 music files. Images and
videos will be scaled for playing large
on the big screen automatically.

Macintosh® wireless projection support.
The Wireless VPS III supports Mac® computer users, too. By
launching the Mac client software that’s stored in the accompanying
USB token, the system enables Mac users to use the wireless
presentation feature. With the III version update, Mac projection
speed is up to five times as fast as the earlier version.
Works as a wireless access point.
The Wireless VPS III can also be used as a wireless access point,
so you and a roomful of users can access content on the Internet
or a wireless LAN. Wi-Fi AP Client Mode also makes it easy to
communicate with other access points in your wireless enterprise.
Or, via its RJ-45 port, you can link to a wired LAN to access a
PowerPoint presentation located on a back-office PC or server.
Remote desktop function.
Have greater mobility when presenting at a podium or anywhere
in a meeting room. The Remote Desktop function enables you to
control a presentation from a wireless USB mouse/keyboard or to
toggle between slides in a presentation using a USB wireless clicker.
Just plug the receiver for your mouse/keyboard or clicker into the USB
HID port on the front of the Wireless VPS III unit.

Great for security applications.
The Wireless VPS III features session login and WEP/WPA key
security, and because it gives you the ability to control which
participants can link to your wired or wireless network, the technology
is great for conference or training rooms in high-security applications.
You are the gatekeeper for all users. For instance, you can allow a
visitor to run a PowerPoint presentation in your conference room
without having any access to your WLAN. Or you can set it up so that
visitor has just Internet access. By default, the Wireless VPS III is set up
to ”All Block,” meaning all clients have access only to the presentation
system, not to a LAN or the Internet.

Autoconfiguring network setup.
When you connect the Wireless VPS III to a LAN that already has
a DHCP server present, the receiver takes an IP address assigned to
it by the server. But when the Wireless VPS III is connected to a LAN
that does not have a DHCP server, the receiver becomes the DHCP
server in the network. With DHCP enabled, any client connecting to
the system will automatically get security and other network settings
that you, the administrator, configured earlier during system setup.
Settings for optimizing screen projection.
Using the Wireless VPS III projection setup function during
configuration, you can enable or disable certain resolutions, refresh
rates, and color depths. Depending on the native resolution of your
projector (or display), you can easily change the resolution to meet
your requirements. Also, you can choose the projection quality,
selecting “Normal” to get faster projection speed with lower screen
image quality or “Best” for clear screen image quality but slower
projection speed.
