Save energy with unparalleled total home control

HomeWorks

®

QS

HomeWorks has been the leader in light control for exclusive homes for over a decade. And now, we’ve taken that light control to a new level— total home control. This level of control includes lights, shades, HVAC, sensors, and appliances and incorporates a variety of new products, such as sensors, a temperature control, and a dynamic keypad.

HomeWorks QS offers

increased energy savings

, is a

more powerful system

, is

easier to install

, and provides

greater integration capabilities

than before. With HomeWorks QS, you can offer your customers a system that works harder and smarter to bring energy savings to their homes without having to sacrifice comfort and convenience.

The New York Times Building uses Quantum and saves over

70% light energy.

The power of Quantum

®

Quantum was developed to meet the challenges of creating systems that can scale to accommodate thousands of lighting zones and thousands of shades in buildings that are often in use 24 hours a day.

Using the Quantum architecture in HomeWorks

®

QS provides for powerful control over daylight and electric light, from small systems through large applications.

The new architecture provides large-scale processing power and easier communications wiring, along with powerful design, programming, and documentation software to make your project workflow easier and faster.

Energy-saving features

QS

Every time you dim your lights you save energy. Dim them by 25%, for example, and you’ll save 20% energy. The more you dim, the more you save. While a HomeWorks QS system provides the energy-saving benefits of dimming, it also provides other energy-saving benefits, too.

Roman shades with CERUS

safety technology

Lutron has revolutionized the design of Roman shades by introducing CERUS (Cord Eliminating

Roman Uptake System) safety technology. This patent-pending innovation creates a safer shade by removing the exposed inner cords that are typical of

Roman shade construction—and which may pose a strangulation hazard to small children.

Tensioned shades

Tensioned shades combine electronic drive technology with a new tension system that eliminates the stress on the surrounding structure when installed. Fabric is kept taut regardless of slope, making it a perfect solution for skylights, bottom-up, or angled window applications.

Design and programming tool

NEW design and programming tool

The HomeWorks QS design and programming utility is built on a new platform for faster uploads and improved workflow.

The new utility features five easy steps in design and programming a HomeWorks QS system as well as a section for creating a customized report.

Design

Define control station locations and enter load information in the Design tab.

Add controllable shades to your project.

Define the backroom equipment and assign the processor links that devices will use to communicate.

Customize your toolbox of products to suit the type of job you are working on or your personal design preferences.

26

|

Lutron

Program

Program lighting zone and scene control, shade presets, and system time clock events. Conditional logic, state variables, sequences, occupancy events and shared (global) scenes can also be defined in the Program tab.

Activate

Activate system devices using device serial numbers or by pressing device buttons throughout the home. The Activate tab is where the physical device in the home and the virtual device in Lutron

®

Designer become one.

Transfer

Transfer firmware updates and system database to the processor to start up or make programming changes to your system. Transfer to multiple processors over Ethernet makes transfer faster in HomeWorks

®

QS.

Diagnostics

Give your system a checkup in the diagnostics tab. Communication of wired and RF devices to the processor is checked and verified.

Report Center

Print or export to pdf the bill of materials, load schedule, engraving, and integration information for your project. Customize a report package with or without system pricing.
