Users of the Creative Solutions Accounting™ (CSA) software.
This user bulletin explains changes made for this release of Creative Solutions Accounting.
CHANGES
All CSA products
Important! If you are running Creative Solutions Accounting from a network installation, you will be
prompted to run the desktop setup on each workstation the first time CSA is launched after applying this
update. In a Terminal Server environment, you must run the desktop setup from each terminal server that
runs CSA.
Note: You must log in to your computer as an administrator to download and apply software updates via
CS Connect™ and to run the desktop setup. Be certain to restart your computer after running the desktop
setup to insure that all components are installed correctly.
Payroll form and filing information
To determine the status, availability, and filing methods for payroll tax forms, refer to the Payroll section of
the CSA Home Page. Click the + sign next to a jurisdiction to display the list of available forms. Click the
+ sign next to any form to display the status and filing methods available.
Payroll Compliance module



We have updated the state tax tables for Ohio.
Note: If you have not configured the application to update your payroll tax information automatically,
choose Setup > System Configuration > Payroll Tax Information > Update.
We have updated all copies of the following 1099 forms for 2013 to the latest versions available from
the agency: 1096, 1098, 1099-A, 1099-B, 1099-DIV, 1099-G, 1099-INT, 1099-MISC, 1099-OID,
1099-PATR, 1099-R, 1099-S, 1099-SA, 5498, 5498-SA, and W-2G.
We have updated the Payroll Journal report to display the average number of hours per check when
the Departmental report checkbox is marked in the Payroll Journal Options dialog.
State Payroll Tax modules



Alabama. We have updated the withholding files for Forms A-1 and A-6.
California. We have addressed an issue that caused the application to incorrectly calculate amounts
on Form DE 9C for employees with negative SDI and Withholding wages.
Iowa. Effective September 20, 2013, Iowa now requires all employers to file Form 65-5300
electronically and will no longer accept paper copies of quarterly reports. We are in the process of
implementing this capability in the application. When Iowa approves the filing process, we will make
electronic filing for Form 65-5300 available in a subsequent software update, which we will release in
time for third-quarter filing.

Michigan. We have addressed an issued that caused the application to truncate the number of
employees reported in the header record of the UIA-1028 SUTA file when the file included more than
1,000 employees.
Nevada. We have updated Form TXR-020 to the latest version available from the agency.
New Jersey. We have enabled the File > SUTA File Utilities options in the Global Payroll Tax
Processing dialog for the New Jersey Payroll Tax product. These options are now available for the
WR-30 SUTA file when processing data for New Jersey clients.
Ohio. We have updated Form CCA-102 to the latest version available from the agency.
Texas. We have updated Form C-3V to display the client’s Payroll name, as entered in the General
Information tab of the Client Properties dialog.
Payroll CS® Remote Payroll Entry
We have addressed an issue that prevented the application from including YTD check information in
employee portals when sending YTD checks to employee portals for clients with a large number of
employees.
Engagement CS®
We have addressed an issue with the PDF editor that caused the application to omit characters or enter
them slowly in form fields, in some circumstances.

We issue software update notices via email. You can sign up to receive these notices by visiting the My
Account section of our website. You’ll need to create a web account (if you don’t already have one) and
then sign up for the Email Subscription service where you can indicate which notices you want to receive.
