cruze ADVANTAGES
• Larger fuel tank – Cruze 1LT includes a
15.6-gallon fuel tank, while Civic includes
a 13.2-gallon fuel tank. Cruze’s larger
fuel tank allows it to travel up to 78 miles
farther on a tank of fuel.
• 16" wheels – Cruze 1LT models include 16"
wheels and tires, compared to 15" wheels
and tires on Civic Sedan. In addition, Cruze
1LT’s wheels are alloy compared to the
steel wheels on the Civic LX.
• More torque – Although Civic’s engine has
more horsepower than Cruze’s engine,
Cruze’s turbo engine has more torque that
comes on at a much lower rpm compared
to Civic’s engine. Torque is what customers
use in day-to-day driving, and more torque
at lower rpms helps make the vehicle feel
more powerful and responsive.

OVERVIEW
The current Ford Focus was introduced for
the 2011 model year and has seen minor
updates since. Focus is available in sedan and
hatchback body styles in S, SE and Titanium
trim levels, along with a high-performance ST
hatchback and an all-electric hatchback. For
2014, the only Focus update is an Appearance
Package for SE models that includes sport
cloth seats, a leather-wrapped steering
wheel and shift knob and an available rear
spoiler. The vast majority of Focus models
are powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder matched up
with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic
transmission.
cruze ADVANTAGES
• More space for passengers and cargo –
Cruze’s interior offers almost four cubic
feet of more space than Focus’s interior.
Cruze’s trunk also offers almost two more
cubic feet of storage space compared to
Focus sedan’s trunk. In addition, to help
accommodate longer cargo items, Cruze’s
rear seat features a 60/40 split; a 60/40
split rear seat is only available as an option
on Focus SE.

cruze ADVANTAGES
• OnStar – All Cruze models include
standard OnStar along with its wide
range of convenient features, including
RemoteLink and Turn-by-Turn Navigation.
Focus also includes a telematics system,
but it requires a properly paired and
powered-up cell phone to function.
Cruze’s OnStar system utilizes cellular
technology embedded within the vehicle
for a more reliable connection. In addition,
unlike Cruze, Focus does not include a
smartphone app capable of starting the
vehicle and unlocking the doors.
• Infotainment – Cruze 1LT’s available
Chevrolet MyLink system offers several
entertainment options. Focus SE also offers
an impressive infotainment system, but
Cruze’s system includes apps embedded in
the head unit. Focus’s system only allows
control of apps, but they are not embedded
in the head unit. In addition, Cruze includes
standard satellite radio; satellite radio is an
option on Focus SE.

Cruze ADVANTAGES
• More air bags – To help protect occupants,
Cruze includes 10 standard air bags; Focus
includes only seven air bags.
• Automatic Crash Response – Cruze’s
OnStar system has embedded cellular
technology that automatically calls for
help if a collision is detected. Focus also
has a telematics system, but it requires
a properly paired and powered-up cell
phone to function. If the phone is not in
the car, not powered up, or damaged in the
collision, Ford’s system will not make the
emergency call.
• Peace of mind – Cruze provides
outstanding ownership coverage with a
40,000-mile longer powertrain warranty
than Focus. Cruze’s warranty also includes
standard courtesy transportation coverage
while Focus’s warranty does not.
