MuxLab Stereo Analog Audio Splitter 1x3 Installation guide
MuxLab Stereo Analog Audio Splitter 1x3
The MuxLab Stereo Analog Audio Splitter 1x3 allows you to connect one analog audio source to up to three receivers using MuxLab's Analog Audio Balun (500028) over CAT 5e/6 cabling. This makes it ideal for installations where you need to distribute audio to multiple rooms or zones.
The splitter is easy to install and use. Simply connect the audio source to the splitter using a 4-pair straight cable Cat5, 5E, or 6 UTP. Then, connect each receiver to the splitter using a separate 4-pair straight cable Cat5, 5E, or 6 UTP.
The splitter supports a maximum distance of 3250ft (1km) between the source and the receivers. It also supports a wide range of audio formats, including stereo and surround sound.

Installation
One splitter and up to 3 audio analog balun (500028) can be used to complete the system via UTP cable.
Caution: Do not attempt to open the housing. There are no user-serviceable parts inside the box. Opening the unit will void your warranty.
Do not connect the unit to a telecommunication outlet wired to unrelated equipment. Making such a connection may damage the equipment and/or the balun. Verify that the desired twisted pairs are not being used for other LAN or telephone equipment.
1. Use a dedicated 4-pair Cat5e/6 cable between the source and the receiver balun. A patch panel can also be used.
2. Verify the wiring is “straight-through”, has 4 twisted pairs and has the standard Ethernet
RJ45 plug.
3. Each connector (#1, 2, 3& 4) can be used for input or output. Only one source can be used.
4. Cascading multiple units is not recommended.
5. At the destination point, connect the passive balun Audio receiver (or AV receiver) or Muxlab Amplifier (500219).
