GB.GIVARE.050101 Instructions for Installation Room sensor, for wall mounting, IP20, Part No. 018926 Outdoor/room sensor, watertight, IP43, Part No. 018954, GOLD 1. General The sensor kit consists of a sensor, junction box for transition from modular connector to screw terminal block and an 8 metre long cable with modular connector at both ends. 2. Field of Application The room sensor is intended for use as a replacement for the extract air sensor situated inside the GOLD air handling unit. The room sensor can be used in systems that supply air to several rooms/zones and if the temperature in one of the rooms is to be given priority. It can also be used if the temperature drops in the extract air duct upstream of the measuring point inside the air handling unit. The outdoor/room sensor is intended for use as a replacement for the outdoor air sensor situated inside the GOLD air handling unit. The outdoor/room sensor can be used if it is necessary to measure the outdoor temperature while the air handling unit is shut down or if the damper in the outdoor air duct is closed. The sensor can also be used as a room sensor in applications that require a higher enclosure class. 3. Mounting 3.1 Room sensor Carefully remove the upper, smaller cover. Then unscrew the screw to remove the lower, larger cover. Secure the sensor to an interior wall by means of two screws. The air slots that allow air to pass through the sensor must be vertical. Locate the sensor at a representative measurement point, about 1.5 meters above the floor. Avoid locating the sensor near sources of disturbance such as radiators, direct sunlight and the like. 3.2 Outdoor/room sensor Secure the sensor on an external wall by means of two screws. Note that the sensor shall be mounted with the cable gland facing down. Locate the sensor at a representative measurement point, about 1.5 meters above the floor. Avoid sources of disturbance such as direct sunlight, exhaust air discharge and the like. If the sensor is used as a room sensor, it should be located and mounted as described under item 3.1 above. Specifications are subject to alteration without notice. 4. Technical Details 4.1 Room sensor Dimensions (WxHxD) Enclosure class Measuring range 80x80x16 mm IP 20 -50 °C – +70 °C 4.2 Outdoor/room sensor Dimensions (WxHxD) Enclosure class Measuring range 52x55x27 mm IP 43 -50 °C – +70 °C 4.3 Junction box Dimensions (WxHxD) Measuring range 52x58x21 mm IP 20 www.swegon.se 1 GB.GIVARE.050101 5. Electrical Connections To be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with local regulations. The temperature sensor is digital and, depending on the nature of the installation, may be sensitive to external interference. The cable to the sensor must not be arranged to run parallel with power cables. If the sensor cable crosses power cables, it should do so at a right angle to them. If there is risk of interference, a shielded sensor cable shouldbe used. The cable shield should to earth(GND) be connected in the junction box and not connected in the sensor. Connect the cable with modular connector to the control unit of the GOLD air handling unit. See the Instructions for Operation and Maintenance Instructions, Section 10.5, Electrical Wiring Diagram. Junction box for transition from Modular cable to screw terminal block connection Sensor Modular cable for connection to the control unit of the GOLD air handling unit (8 metres long).
