Frequently asked questions

You can use high-quality speaker wire of 16 gauge or larger. Make sure to observe polarity while connecting the speakers: connect red (+) terminals on the amplifier to red (+) on the speaker, and black (-) on the amplifier to black (-) on the speaker.

Place the front speakers to the left and right of the TV screen, far enough apart for a good stereo image but not too far that the sound seems distant. The center channel speaker should be between the front speakers and above or below the TV screen, tilted to direct the sound toward the listening position. Surround speakers should be placed to the sides and slightly behind the listening position.

Ideally, the 453 C speaker should be placed within two feet of the axis of the front channel tweeters. It can be placed on top of the TV or above or below the screen in a front projection video system. Use its adjustable base to tilt it towards the listening position.

The Boundary Compensation Control allows you to fine-tune the bass response of the 453 C speaker when it is placed near a wall or in a corner. Adjust the control to achieve the best bass response in your listening room.

The speakers will attain their peak performance after a break-in period of approximately 50 hours at moderate volume levels. Higher volume levels will not hasten this break-in period.
