This Hardware Manual is intended for devices equipped with Software Management and COLOR LCD DISPLAY. 2. Please Manual carefully before usage. Hardware Overview Each device is equipped with below instruments: 1. Finger Sensor Sensor to detect and verify user’s fingerprint. 2. LED Indicator for verification: Green Light = Verification succeeded. Red Light = Verification failed. 3. Speaker To sound info and alarm. 4. Color LCD Display To display all data and info. 5. Keypad 0‐9/A‐Z : To input numeric/alphabet characters. Up & Down Arrows : To select menu. Power Button : To turn on and off device. Menu : To enter device menu. 6. Power Switch To turn on/off power source. 7. USB Disk Port To connect with USB Disk (Flash Memory). 8. USB Cable Port To connect between computer and device using USB cable. 9. TCP‐IP / LAN Port To connect between LAN/Computer and device using Ethernet/LAN cable. 10. Power Port To connect power adaptor with device (power source). NOTE: Always use the appropriate Adaptor specifications. Do not use different voltage adaptor (wrong voltage might caused damage to device). 11. Lock Comm. (Some models might not have this connection) GND (Ground), Bell‐, Bell+, Lock, NO, COM, NC, WG1 (wiegand 1), WG0 (wiegand 0), 5V (output). Installation There are 2 kinds of installations: 1. Wall Hanging. Release the bracket in the rear of the device and screwed it on the wall in appropriate height (drill might be needed to install the bracket on the wall) using the tubes and screws, then put the machine into the bracket and fasten the screws. 2. Desktop (some models do not have desktop installation). Put the device in flat surface before use. Connection 1. When connection using cable, make sure the cable are well prepared and all cable‐ports are well connected. 2. LAN/TCP‐IP connection will need setting for: Device ID Number IP Number TCP‐IP Port (default is 6008) Communication Password (default is 8008) Subnet Mask Default Gateway Note: Please consult to our supplier for more detail. 3. USB Cable connection will need setting for: Device ID Number 4. USB Disk connection, please use good quality USB Disk (flash disk). Make sure the disk is well formatted and has adequate space. Verification Device has 3 kinds of verification methods as below z Fingerprint Fingerprint sensor is a sensitive optical‐crystal sensor, slightly put and press the finger on the sensor to verify user. z Password To use password verification: On standby mode press 0 (zero), enter the user ID, enter the password. z RFID Card (available for some models only / optional). To use RFID card, put the card close to the RFID area and device will automatically recognize the registered card. Note: 1. Verification might also combine the above methods. 2. Please notice finger placement for verification: Correct position Not fully placed Finger not centered Slanted Finger Finger is too low Device Menu Note: 1. Press MENU button to enter device’s MENU. 2. Press Up/Down arrows to select. 3. Press OK to enter/select. 4. Device also gives info and instruction shown inside the menu, please read carefully. Menu Index: 1. USER 1.1. ENROLL. z There are 3 kinds of verification‐method options for each user: Fingerprint, Password, RFID (available in some models / optional) z There are 3 levels of users: ‐ User/Employee : Only User ‐ Manager : Authority to access Menu (but no privilege to Advanced Setting) ‐ Administrator : Authority to access all Menus. Note: Each finger enrollment will need 3 times verification (press 3 times to the sensor for each finger). 1.2. DELETE Option to delete User. According to the level, Administrator has access to delete all levels of users, Manager is able to delete User. NOTE: If no Manager or Administrator is enrolled, then User is able to access Menu. 2. SETTING 2.1. BASIC 2.1.1. Language. Option to set language. 2.1.2. Sound. Option to set Sound. 2.1.3. Key Tone. Option to set Key Tone. 2.2. ADVANCED 2.2.1. Verification Mode. To set verification mode between: Finger, Password, RFID. 2.2.2. Date and Time. To set date and time. 2.2.3. Clocking Switch. To set IN OUT mode (no need to set when using management software) 2.2.4. Ring Setting. To set alarm time and length. 2.2.5. Ring Mode. To set mode of alarm (continuously ring or ring with break). 2.2.6. Allowed # of Managers. To set numbers of managers. 2.2.7. Calibrate Sensor. To calibrate sensor, put finger on sensor when need to calibrate. 2.2.8. Upgrade Firmware. To upgrade firmware via USB (contact your distributor for this function). 2.2.9. Factory Reset. To reset setting to factory default. 2.2.10. Clear All Time Log. To delete all logs. 2.2.11. Clear All Management Log. To delete manager’s logs. 2.2.12. Clear All Enrolled Data. To delete user’s data. 2.3. POWER 2.3.1. Power Off At. To set time to set off the device. 2.3.2. Idle Setting. 2.3.2.1. Power Off After. To set off the device after certain minutes without working. 2.3.2.2. Sleep After. To set sleep mode after certain minutes without working. 2.3.3. Lock Power Key. To lock power‐key button. 2.4. COMMUNICATION 2.4.1. Device ID. To set device ID number. 2.4.2. TCP/IP Settings. 2.4.2.1. Use DHCP. To set DHCP Mode (when ON, device will get automatic IP from server). 2.4.2.2. IP Address. To set device’s IP. 2.4.2.3. Subnet Mask. To set Subnet Mask. 2.4.2.4. Default Gateway. To set Default Gateway. 2.4.2.5. TCP Port. To set TCP Port (default is: 6008). 2.4.2.6. Mac Address. To set mac address. 2.4.3. Use RS485. To set RS485. 2.4.4. RS 485 Speed. To set RS485 Baud Rate. 2.4.5. Communication Password. To set communication password (default is: 8008). 2.4.6. Event Transfer Mode. Option for direct online data transmit (this function is related to SDK and management‐software system). Contact your authorized service center for more details. 2.5. LOG 2.5.1. Management Log Warning. To set alarm warning when management’s logs left the certain numbers (have not been downloaded). 2.5.2. Time Log Warning. To set alarm warning when user’s logs left the certain numbers (have not been downloaded). 2.5.3. Re‐verification Mode. To set time (minutes) to restrict the same finger re‐verification. 2.6. ACCESS 2.6.1. Define Time Zone. To set access time‐zone. The options with numbers 0‐31, number 0 is for Always Allowed to access, number 31 is Always Disallowed (no access). 2.6.2. Define Time Group. To combine Time Zone into Time Group. The options with numbers 0‐31, number 0 is for Always Allowed to access, number 31 is Always Disallowed (no access). Each Time Group can combine 10 Time Zone. 2.6.3. Define Time Set. To Set Time Group during the week day. 2.6.4. Assign Time Set to User. To assign the Time Set for certain user. 2.6.5. Door Open Time. To set door open time length. 2.6.6. Door Open Timeout. To set alarm when door has not closed for certain time. 2.6.7. Door Sensor Type. To set door sensor. 2.6.8. Duress Setting. To set duress‐finger (finger that able to turn off the alarm even not in its allowed access‐time). 2.6.9. Wiegand Type. To set type of wiegand. 2.7. TEST 2.7.1. Test All. To test all hardware functions. 2.7.2. Test Memory 2.7.3. Test LCD 2.7.4. Test Sound 2.7.5. Test Fingerprint Sensor 2.7.6. Test Keypad 2.7.7. Test RTC (Time & Date) 3. USB DISK Plug in USB Disk (Flash Memory) to use this function. 3.1. DOWNLOAD NEW TIME LOG. To download new logs of users which have not been downloaded before. 3.2. DOWNLOAD ALL TIME LOG. To download all logs of users. 3.3. DOWNLOAD NEW MANAGEMENT LOG. To download manager’s new logs which have not been downloaded before. 3.4. DOWNLOAD ALL MANAGEMENT LOG. To download all manager’s log. 3.5. DOWNLOAD USER DATABASE. To download user’s database. 3.6. UPLOAD USER DATABASE. To upload user’s database. 4. INFORMATION 4.1. ENROLL INFO. To View enrollment and logs info. 4.2. DEVICE INFO. To view device info. 4.3. ADVANCED 4.3.1. VIEW TIME LOG. To view certain user’s log. 4.3.2. VIEW MANAGEMENT LOG. To view manager or administrator’s log. 4.3.3. VIEW USER INFO. To view verification mode of certain user. Safety Rules 1. Make sure the power adaptor has correct specifications and voltage. 2. Make sure the power adaptor is plugged firmly to avoid power surge. 3. Use a stabilizer when power voltage is not stable. 4. Install machine in correct position (wall hanging). 5. Always put the machine is flat and safe surface (desktop installation). 6. Install the device in appropriate temperature and humidity space. 7. Keep the device from: Water, direct sun‐light, heater, air conditioner, fire, dust. 8. Keep out from reach of children. 9. Do not modify the device without consulting from authorized technician. 10.
