GAI-Tronics’ RED ALERT® Camera Emergency Telephones are
designed to incorporate all the features of the standard RED
ALERT® Telephones while adding the ability to monitor the
immediate area through a CCTV connection. These telephones include an integral 1/3” CCD Analog Camera.
Although the camera can be seen upon close inspection of
the telephone, it will go largely unnoticed. The integral
camera provides covert surveillance of the immediate area as
well as the capability to view the actual telephone user. The
integrated camera will adjust to the available lighting and
therefore can be used in almost any location. This product is
ideal for expanding an existing CCTV system or for liability
issues when a person is using the Emergency Telephone.
The 397-001CAM and 398-001CAM RED ALERT® Camera
Emergency Telephones provide reliable two-way communications with the press of a single button and can be installed
on any analog PSTN, PBX, PABX, or KSU network providing 24
V dc or 48 V dc line voltage with a minimum line current of 24
mA. No external power is required for telephone operation.
GAI-Tronics’ RED ALERT® Camera Emergency Telephones
provide clear and reliable communications in almost any
environment. Model s 397-001CAM and 398-001CAM are
considered to be Type-3R weatherproof compliant when
installed in a GAI-Tronics surface-mount enclosure, freestanding stanchion, wall-mount stanchion or simply recessed
into an existing wall.
Each telephone is capable of providing two (2) auxiliary
outputs for control of peripherals such as strobes, door/gate
access, alarms, or lamps via local or remote activation. These
outputs can be programmed for a variety of control
parameters including telephone HELP button or remote
DTMF activation. Each telephone can additionally be configured to automatically answer when called.

In addition to the HELP pushbutton, the 398-001CAM
includes a sealed, chrome-plated Braille keypad and separate
CALL pushbutton for local calling or building access.
Pressing the black CALL pushbutton a second time enables
the caller to place additional calls without disengaging the
telephone line.

The camera telephones are ADA compliant, with a “Call Received When Lit” L.E.D. providing visual indication that a call is
active and a Braille HELP label.
Although each of these telephones will function as a standard Emergency Telephone, connecting a customer-provided,
central computer equipped with GAI-Tronics’ TMA (Telephone Management Application) software will allow them to operate
in SMART (Self-Monitoring and Reporting Technology) mode. With TMA connected, each RED ALERT® telephone will be polled
on a scheduled basis to report:
• Line Integrity
• Microprocessor Health
• Stuck Buttons
• Microphone Integrity
• Speaker Integrity
• Line Interrupt (power failure)
• Low Battery (Voice Annunciation Option Only)
