2. EVS Software
2.1
INTRODUCTION
The EVS s oftwa re is us ed for c onfigu rati on an d m ainte nanc e oper atio ns . It is also
us ed to s elec t whic h applic ation to ru n, s inc e EVS dis k rec orders hav e the abili ty
to ru n v arious ded ic ated applic ati ons (Vide o Se rv er, …).
When tur ning on th e E VS m ainfram e, the firs t s tep is the PC boot s equenc e,
follow ed by the boot of the v ideo I/O boards , and fina lly the EVS s oft ware is
s tarted.
If a d efau lt a pplic at ion has been p rev ious ly s elec ted, th is appli c atio n w ill s tart
autom atic ally aft er a few s ec onds if no k ey is hit.
If a defau lt appl ic ation h as not been defin ed or if the s pac e bar is hit, the sys tem
will rem ain i n t he E VS m ain m enu (s ee s naps ho t on nex t p age) and wai t for the
operat or's nex t c om m and.

defau lt a pplic ati on is au t om atic ally s tarted ev ery tim e the EVS pro gram is entered .
When the a pplic ati on c urrently s elec ted is already the def ault a ppl ic ation,
pres s ing F7 wil l dis abl e the de faul t ap plic atio n a nd the s ys tem will rem ain in t he
EVS M ain m enu ev ery tim e the EVS s oft ware is lau nc hed.
Pres s F8 to imm ediately open the Ch anne l Confi g window rela ted to th e s elec ted
applic ati on. Pres s ALT + Q to c om e back to m ain m enu.
Pres s F9 to en ter the M ai ntenanc e m enu.
To ex it the EVS s oft war e and go bac k to th e D O S prom pt, pr es s s im ultaneous ly
