Open-Circuit Voltage 1-Phase Power Weight The Power of Blue . ® Improved! New Case and MVP Plugs! Thermal overload protection with indicator light helps prevent machine damage if the duty cycle is exceeded or airflow is blocked. Single amperage range allows operator to accurately set amperage on both 115 or 230 V primary power. Inverter-based, DC power source has a simple-to-use operator interface providing only the necessary controls in a compact machine. Miller’s exclusive multi-voltage plug (MVP™) allows connection to 115 or 230 V receptacles without tools — choose the plug that fits the receptacle and connect it to the power cord. Adaptive Hot Start™ for Stick arc starts automatically increases the output amperage at the start of a weld should the start require it. Prevents the electrode from sticking and creating an inclusion. Portable in the shop or at the job site — at 13.7 lb the shoulder strap allows the end user to easily move from location to location. HF start for non-contact arc starting that eliminates tungsten or material contamination. Selectable trigger configuration allows the operator to choose standard or 2T trigger method to meet the application. Lift-Arc™ start provides TIG arc starting without the use of high frequency. TIG/Stick Package (#907 136-01-7) comes complete with: Maxstar 150 STH 10 ft (3 m) MVP™ power cord MVP™ plugs 5-15P (115 V, 15 A) and 6-50P (230 V, 50 A) X-CASE™ provides protection in transport and storage Remote fingertip control Weldcraft® WP1712RD125 TIG torch with adapter 13 ft (4 m) Stick electrode holder with 25 mm Dinse connector 10 ft (3 m) work clamp with 25 mm Dinse connector Smith® regulator with gas hose AK-2C accessory kit Shoulder strap Built-in gas solenoid eliminates the need for bulky torch with a gas valve. Full function remote control for precise amperage control for critical welds on thin materials (6-pin fingertip or foot control available.) 90 13.7 lb (6.2 kg) Auto-Line™ provides state-of-the-art flexibility to the end user. The AutoLine circuitry automatically connects to 115–230 VAC, single-phase power without removing the covers to relink the power source. No longer is there a concern if you have the correct machine for the shop or job site. Built-in pulsing capabilities allow the operator to select from four fixed pulse frequencies to satisfy the application. 115 VAC: 5 – 150 A (DC TIG) 20 – 100 A (DC Stick) 230 VAC: 5 – 150 A (DC TIG) 20 – 150 A (DC Stick) Low OCV Stick is a simple design that reduces the open-circuit voltage to 12–16 volts when the welding power source is not in use. This circuit design is now built into the Maxstar 150 STH eliminating the need for add-on voltage reducers. Best in class Stick arc characteristics for those demanding jobs. Power Factor Corrected (PFC) for optimum performance especially on 115 V — reduces nuisance breaker tripping. Fan-On-Demand™ power source cooling system operates only when needed, reducing noise, energy use and the amount of contaminants pulled through the machine. Power source is warranted for 3 years, parts and labor. Original main power rectified parts are warranted for 5 years. Miller Electric Mfg. Co. CONVENTIONAL PULSED TIG Peak Amps Peak Time % Background Amps (% of Peak) Peak Amps Peak Time % Background Amps (% of Peak) Pulse Cycle Typically from 1 to 10 PPS. Provides a heating and cooling effect on the weld puddle and can reduce distortion by lowering the average amperage. This heating and cooling effect also produces a distinct ripple pattern in the weld bead. The relationship between pulse frequency and travel speed determines the distance between the ripples. Slow pulsing can also be coordinated with filler metal addition and can increase overall control of the weld puddle. 4 HIGH SPEED PULSED TIG Pulse Cycle In excess of 40 PPS, Pulsed TIG becomes more audible than visible — causing increased puddle agitation for a better as-welded microstructure. Pulsing the weld current at high speeds — between a high Peak and a low Background amperage — can also constrict and focus the arc. This results in maximum arc stability, increased penetration and increased travel speeds (Common Range: 100 – 500 PPS). (+) Amps Amps (+) 0 (–) Time (1 AC Cycle) Unconventional wave provides the punch of the peak amperage, while reducing overall heat input. Quick puddle formation reduces weld time — limiting heat input and reducing weld distortion, especially on thin materials. 5 Packages and Torch Kits Dynasty 200 SD Power Source ® Dynasty® 200 SD #907 099 (CSA) (Auto-Line™ 120–460 VAC) Adjustable shoulder strap, 10 ft (3 m) primary power cord, (2) international (Dinse 50) connectors, (1) air-cooled TIG torch adapter (#195 378) Note: See page 7 for recommend Contractor Torch Kit Dynasty 200 DX Power Sources ® Dynasty® 200 DX #907 099-01-1 (CSA) (Auto-Line™ 120–460 VAC) Dynasty® 200 DX #907 356 (CE ROHS) (Auto-Line™ 120–460 VAC) Adjustable shoulder strap, 10 ft (3 m) primary power cord, (2) international (Dinse 50) connectors, (1) air-cooled TIG torch adapter (#195 378) Note: See page 7 for recommend Contractor Torch Kit TIGRunner Package ® Dynasty 200 DX TIGRunner® #907 099-02-1 (CSA) (Auto-Line™ 120–460 VAC) Completely assembled. Quick puddle formation reduces weld time — limiting heat input and reducing weld distortion, especially on thin materials. Pulse TIG Controls High Speed DC TIG-Pulse Controls • PPS Pulses per second (Hz): DC = 0.1 – 5,000 PPS / AC = 0.1 – 500 PPS • % ON – % Peak Time: 5 - 95% (Controls the amount of time during each pulse cycle at the PEAK amperage.) • Background Amps: 5 – 99% (Sets the low-pulse amperage value as a % of the Peak Amps.) CONVENTIONAL PULSED TIG Peak Amps Peak Time % Background Amps (% of Peak) HIGH SPEED PULSED TIG Peak Amps Peak Time % Background Amps (% of Peak) Pulse Cycle Typically from 1 to 10 PPS. Pulse Cycle In excess of 40 PPS, Pulsed TIG becomes more audible than visible — causing increased puddle agitation for a better as-welded microstructure. Pulsing the weld current at high speeds — between a high Peak and a low Background amperage — can also constrict and focus the arc. This results in maximum arc stability, increased penetration and increased travel speeds (Common Range: 100 – 500 PPS). The Arc-Sharpening effects of high speed pulsing are expanded to new dimensions. The ability to pulse at 5,000 PPS further enhances arc stability and concentration potential — which is extremely beneficial to automation where maximum travel speeds are required. 5 Packages and Torch Kits Dynasty Power Sources ® Dynasty® 350 #907 204 (CSA) (Auto-Line™ 208–575 VAC) Dynasty® 700 #907 101 (CSA) (Auto-Line™ 208–575 VAC) Dynasty® 350 #907 204-02-1 (CE) (Auto-Line™ 380–575 VAC) Dynasty® 700 #907 101-02-1 (CE) (Auto-Line™ 380–575 VAC) 8 ft (2.4 m) primary cord, (2) international (Dinse 50) connectors, and CD-ROM Setup and Simulator. An external coolant filter stops foreign objects from entering the water cooled torch cable for better flow and longer life. Extended cooling capacity ensures maximum productivity. 3-year cooler warranty. Stick welding features such as Adaptive Hot Start ™ provide good arc strikes without sticking. Once welding, the DIG control makes dynamic adjustments to the welder to ensure smooth E7018 and deep penetration E6010. Tilted operator interface and built-in consumable drawer provide added convenience to your welding experience. Arc timer/cycle counter records actual welding time and number of arc starts. Great for estimating job costs. Squarewave technology developed and patented by Miller Electric in 1976. Squarewave technology was developed to improve your weld quality and make TIG welding easier. Miller Squarewave technology provides arc stability when welding aluminum, prevents arc rectification and eliminates tungsten erosion. Welding aluminum? Oxides that form on aluminum melt at temperatures over 3700° F. The aluminum material that is located under this layer of oxide melts at 1200° F. The Syncrowave’s AC Squarewave welding current automatically removes the layer of oxide which is necessary for producing high quality welds. Do you have power fluctuations? The Syncrowave compensates for power fluctuation without changing your welding parameters. Line voltage compensation works on fluctuating power ±10%. ➡ NEW!
