Quick Start

Connect AC plug on back of the unit into a wall socket. Remove the tab from the battery backup compartment on the bottom of the unit.

Fully extend the FM antenna wire.

• Move the DST switch on back of unit to

+1 or -1 (adds or subtracts an hour)

• Press & hold the Clock Set Button on

back until the display flashes

• Press the + or Buttons to adjust the

time (hold for rapid setting)

• Press the Clock Set Button again.

Press and hold Alarm 1 or Alarm 2

Button until display flashes. Press the + or Buttons to adjust the alarm time (hold for rapid setting). Press the Mode Button to select buzzer or radio as alarm source.

Press the Alarm Button to confirm alarm setting.

Press the Power Button to turn unit ON.

Press the Mode Button as needed to select AM/FM band. Turn the Tuning

Knob to tune in a station.

Using the RT205

Connect Unit to Power Source

Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC wall socket.

Setting the Clock

a) To adjust the time for Daylight Saving Time, slide the DST switch located on the rear of the unit to +1 to advance the time

1 hour. Slide to -1 to turn the clock back 1 hour.

b) Press and hold the Clock Set Button on the rear of the unit until the clock display flashes. c) Press the + or Button as needed to adjust the display to the current time (hold for rapid setting). AM and PM indicators

appear at the bottom of the display. Make sure you set the clock to the correct AM or PM time.

d) Press the Clock Set Button again to confirm the time setting. Two beeps will indicate clock setting is complete

Using the Alarms

The unit has two independent alarms. Each can be set to wake you at separate times to the current radio station or to a buzzer alarm. Note: Alarm 1 and Alarm 2 are set the same way; Alarm Button below means the button (Alarm 1 or Alarm 2) for whichever alarm you are setting.

Setting the Alarms

a) Press and hold the Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 Button until the alarm time flashes.

b) Press the + or Button as needed to adjust the display to the desired alarm time (hold for rapid setting). AM and PM

indicators appear at the bottom of the display. Make sure you set the display to the correct AM or PM alarm time.

c) During alarm setting, press the Mode Button to select Buzzer or Radio (last selected station) to wake to. Default

mode is buzzer.

d) Press the Alarm Button again to confirm alarm setting. To set another alarm, follow steps a - d.

Arming and Disarming Alarm (Turn Alarm Function ON and OFF)

Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 Button to arm or disarm alarm function. When armed, the related alarm icon appears in the

display.

Resetting the Alarm to Come on the Next Day

When the alarm is sounding, press the related Alarm Button or the Power Button to stop the alarm and reset it to come on

the following day.

Snooze

Press the Snooze/Dimmer Button after the alarm sounds. The alarm will be silenced and come on again after nine minutes. Snooze can be pressed several times during the 1 hour alarm cycle.

Sure Alarm

The unit has a sure alarm feature so the buzzer alarm will still sound in the event of power failure, if backup battery is installed.

Radio

Setting up Antenna a) The unit has an internal AM antenna. Adjust the location of the unit as needed for best AM reception.

b) Extend FM Antenna (on back of unit) fully for best reception. Do not strip, alter or attach to other antennas.

Tuning and Playing the Radio

a) Press the Mode Button as needed to select FM or AM radio band, indicated by the FM or AM icon on the display.

b) Turn the Tuning Knob on the right side of the unit to tune radio to a desired station. The time display changes to radio frequency during tuning. After five seconds the display returns to the current time.

c) Turn the Volume Knob to adjust unit volume up or down. d) Press the Power Button to turn the unit off.

Using the RT205

Using the Line-in Jack

a) Use a standard stereo audio cable with 3.5 mm plugs (available at www.ihomeaudio.com) to play your audio device through the Line-in Jack (connect one end in the device’s line out or headphones jack, the other in the line-in jack located on the rear of the unit).

b) Press the Power Button to turn on the unit.

c) To listen to your audio device, press the Mode Button until LINE-IN is displayed, indicating line-in mode. d) Place your audio device in play mode.

e) Turn the Volume Knob to adjust the volume on the unit. You may need to adjust the output volume on your line-in device,

too.

f) When you are done listening, press the Power Button to turn off the unit. Remember to turn off your audio device, too.

Using Sleep Mode

Sleep mode lets you sleep to the current radio station, gradually lowering the volume until the unit shuts off at the selected time.

a) Press the Sleep Button as needed to select an amount of time before the unit shuts off: 120, 90, 60, 30 or 15 minutes, or

Off to exit sleep mode and shut the unit off.

b) Turn the Volume Wheel to set the sleep volume (this volume setting is separate from your standard volume setting).

Using the Dimmer

a) Press the Snooze/Dimmer Button during normal operation to adjust brightness of LCD display. There are several levels of brightness including OFF.

Replacing Back-up Battery

The unit comes with 1 CR2450 back-up battery installed to provide continuous alarm operation and clock settings in the event of a power failure. Remove the battery pull tab

before use. When the Battery Low Icon located on the right side of the display is flashing, it is time to replace the back-up battery. The battery compartment is located on the bottom of the unit.

1. Please make sure the unit is connected to power source, otherwise all settings may be lost during battery replacement.

2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the battery compartment cover located on the bottom of the unit. Remove exhausted CR2450 battery.

3. Insert a fresh CR2450 battery, checking that the + side is facing you. Replace the compartment door.

Note: Make sure you dispose of battery properly (see your local regulations).

Installing Backup Battery

WARNING: Lithium batteries can explode or cause burns if disassembled, shorted, recharged, exposed to water, fire, or high temperatures. Do not place loose batteries in a pocket, purse, or other container containing metal objects, mix with used or other battery types, or store with hazardous or combustible materials. Store in cool, dry, ventilated area. Follow applicable laws and regulations for transport and disposal.

This unit has been designed and manufactured to assure your personal safety. Improper use can result in potential electrical shock or fire hazards.

5. Water and Moisture - Do not use this apparatus near water. For example: near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, swimming pool or in a wet basement.

6. Ventilation - Do not block any of the ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. For example, it should not be situated on a bed, sofa, rug or similar surface that may block ventilation openings. Also, it should not be placed in a built-in installation, such as a bookcase or cabinet that may impede the flow of air through the ventilation openings.

7. Heat - Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.

8. Power Sources - The unit should be connected to a power supply only of the type described in the operating instructions or as marked on the appliance.

9. Grounding or Polarization - Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding - type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. When the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.

10. Power-Cord Protection - Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus. It is always best to have a clear area from where the cord exits the unit to where it is plugged into an AC outlet.

11. Cleaning - Unplug this product from the well outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Clean only with a dry cloth.

12. Non-Use Periods – The power cord of the unit should be unplugged from the outlet when it is to be left unused for a long period of time.

13. Objects and Liquid Entry - Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and liquids are not spilled into the enclosure through openings.

14. Attachments - Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.

15. Lightning - Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

16. Overloading - Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience receptacles as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.

17. Damage Require Service - Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

18. Servicing - The user should not attempt to service the unit beyond that described in the user’s operating instructions. All other servicing should be referred to qualified service personnel.

19. Safety Check - Upon completion of any service or repairs to this product, ask the service technician to perform safety checks to determine that the product is in proper operating condition.

20. Antenna - Do not connect to an external antenna.

Troubleshooting

Connect the power cord into a working wall socket, make sure any switch that controls the outlet is ON. Try testing a trusted device in the outlet.

Replace with new battery

The unit is reacting to external interference

Check to make sure the polarity (+ ) matches the diagram in the battery compartment

Move unit away from potential sources of external interference such as computers, modems, wireless devices (routers) or fluorescent light.

AM band radio is very noisy unit isn’t located properly

Volume level is set too high

Sound is distorted

If you are using an external sound source like older generation of iPod or iPod Shuffle, try reducing the output volume on the device itself.

Make sure to set the alarm time and source for the alarm icon 1 or 2 that is shown on the clock display

Limited 90 Day Warranty Information

realtone, a division of SDI Technologies Inc. (hereafter referred to as SDI Technologies), warrants this product to be free from defects in workmanship and materials, under normal use and conditions, for a period of 90 days from the date of original purchase.

Should this product fail to function in a satisfactory manner, it is best to first return it to the store where it was originally purchased.

Should this fail to resolve the matter and service still be required by reason of any defect or malfunction during the warranty period, SDI

Technologies will repair or, at its discretion, replace this product without charge (except for a $5.00 charge for handling, packing, return

UPS/postage, and insurance). This decision is subject to verification of the defect or malfunction upon delivery of this product to the

Factory Service Center listed below. The product must include proof of purchase, including date of purchase. The fee for service without proof of purchase is $10.00.

Before returning this product for service, please first replace the batteries (if applicable) with fresh ones, as exhausted or defective batteries are the most common cause of problems encountered.

If service is still required:

1. Remove the batteries (if applicable) and pack the unit in a well padded, heavy corrugated box.

2. Enclose a photocopy of your sales receipt, credit card statement, or other proof of the date of purchase, if within the warranty period.

3. Enclose a check or money order payable to the order of SDI Technologies, for the sum of $5.00 ($10.00 without proof of purchase).

4. Send the unit prepaid and insured, to the Factory Service Center listed below.

(if applicable); (iv) the cost of shipping this product to the Factory Service Center and its return to the owner.

This warranty is valid only in the United States of America and does not extend to owners of the product other than to the original purchaser.

In no event will SDI Technologies or any of its affiliates, contractors, resellers, their officers, directors, shareholders, members or agents be liable to you or any third party for any consequential or incidental damages, any lost profits, actual, exemplary or punitive damages.

(Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranties or exclusion of consequential damages, so these restrictions may not apply to you.) This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
