What is a Universal Print Driver?

Ideally, a universal print driver is a software program that allows any computer-user to print to any device, without the usual specialized custom one-driver per device restrictions.

However, in the real world, this one-size-fits-all claim falls short of the mark.

In practice, universal print driver can range from proprietary software that can unify a majority of one brand of print devices, to complex software programs that require so much custom configuring that they require more work than they claim to save.

The Samsung Universal Print Driver supports our OEM devices, and it supports other vendors’ devices. Now you can easily access multiple printers at once by using the outstanding Samsung Universal Print Driver interface.

You can create a “favorite printers” list.

The Samsung Universal Print Driver allows you to create and view your favorite printer list.

This feature allows you to add the most often used printers to a “favorites” folder, giving you the aqbility to easily locate, view, and use these favorite printers.


You can also use the favorites list to organize printers in to functional groups. For example, you can create a list of color printers, black and white printers, and duplex printers, or a list of printers that are located on the same floor. The

Driver to display the status of your printers quickly and easily.

The main interface screen displays the status for all of the printers, including the names, addresses, locations, system names, and consumable status.

You can easily configure the printer status list to suit your own viewing preferences. You can select a printer from one of your preferred lists and set it to be the default printer.

• Update Now: updates the selected printer’s information immediately.


• Buy Supplies: opens the website for buying printer supplies.

• TroubleShooting Guide: opens the troubleshooting chapter of the user’s guide for the selected Samsung printer. You must install the Smart Panel for the Samsung printer model to enable the troubleshooting guide feature.

• Printer Settings: opens SyncThru Web

Service, which provides options for configuring and managing your printer. You can only use this option with network printers.
