Communicator™ RTU
With the Anybus Communicator RTU you can
connect your non-networked device to any
major fieldbus or industrial Ethernet network.
The Communicator performs an intelligent
conversion between the Modbus RTU protocol of
the automation device and the chosen industrial
network. This compact gateway consumes very little
space in a switching cabinet and is easily

Communicator™ RS-232/422/485
With the Anybus Communicator RS-232/422/485
you can connect your non-networked device to any
major fieldbus or industrial Ethernet network. The
Communicator performs an intelligent conversion
between the RS-232/422/485 protocol of the
automation device and the chosen industrial
network. This compact gateway consumes very
little space in a switching cabinet and is
easily mounted on a standard DIN rail.

Communicator™ CAN
The Anybus Communicator CAN makes it possible
to connect devices with a CAN port to all major
fieldbus and industrial Ethernet networks.
The Anybus Communicator CAN performs an
intelligent conversion between a CAN-based
protocol of an automation device and the chosen
fieldbus/Ethernet network. The Communicator CAN
is a compact gateway that consumes very little
space in a switching cabinet and is easily

an installed terminal program (eg.
Windows™ Hyper Terminal) can be
connected via a serial RS-232 cable

The Anybus X-gateway for Modbus-TCP makes it
possible to connect Modbus-TCP devices to almost
any other PLC system.
The X-gateway provides Modbus-TCP client (master)

configuration page is used to configure
Ethernet TCP/IP settings, ModbusTCP client configuration and I/O data

a standard device description file
(GSD/EDS) in the PLC engineering tool.

Anybus Wireless Bridge allows industrial Ethernet based
equipment to be installed with wireless technology and
makes it possible to bridge protocols such as PROFINET,
EtherNet/IP, Modbus-TCP, BACnet/IP etc. over a distance
of up to 1000 meters (open air range).

The Anybus Serial Server connects devices with an RS-232 or RS-485 interface via
Ethernet to a virtual COM-Port of a Windows PC. The virtual COM-Port on the PC is
created by the “Serial IP” driver software, which is included in the scope of supply.
PC applications designed to access devices via physical COM-Ports, can access the
remote device without any software modifications via the Serial Server and the Ethernet
network. The Serial Server in combination with its software driver can be viewed as a long
“virtual” serial RS-232 or RS-485 cable.
Anybus Serial Server has advanced features enabling the user to transfer Real-Time
protocols such as Modbus-RTU, Siemens MPI and DF1. This allows for remote
configuration of Schneider Electric, Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs via the Internet.
