INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Oar Leathers and buttons are installed on oars to prevent them from being
chafed by oarlock horns. Installation is as follows:
1.
Mark position of the oarlock on each oar when in rowing position.
2.
Lay one end of the leather along oar -- centered on the oarlock mark.
Then tack it down with copper tacks, brass or monel brads.
3.
Wrap leather around oar, mark where tacked down ends meet, and
trim off excess leather. Tack down with ends butted firmly against
each other.
4.
Position button on top of installed leather so that its edge meets the
inboard edge of the leather(see diagram).
5.
Tack on end down. Then tack around oar and trim off the excess so
that the ends are butted firmly against each other.
