The College has adopted a standard for projection technology to be used, both in the classroom and in other areas such as conference space. B.1Location
Locations are to be determined by KVCC Information Technology on a vendor‐provided scale schematic. Based on the space the projector is being installed into, facility concerns about mounting and the use of the space will play a part in determining the orientation, location & centering of the projector. Depending on the project, the specified type of location may be: 




A mount only location includes only the projector mounting parts (see C.1.1), the required power (see C.1.4.2) and the conduit to the instructor/presenter station (see C.1.3) B.1.2Mount&Cabling‐OnlyLocation

The College has adopted an overall standard for its projectors based off equipment manufactured by & for the Epson Corporation. C.1.1Mount
All projectors with the exception of short‐throw projectors, are to be ceiling mounted utilizing the Epson Universal Projector Ceiling Mount, part number ELPMBPJF along with the Epson False Ceiling Plate Kit, part number ELPMBP02. Short‐throw projectors are to be part number V12H003Z27. Please note the parts as branded as Epson but manufactured by Peerless AV; it is acceptable to purchase directly thru Peerless. C.1.2Projector
C.1.2.1ClassroomProjectors
The projector is to be the Epson PowerLite 955W WXGA 3LCD or equivalent. C.1.2.2LectureHall,ConferenceRoom&LargerClassroomScreens
The projector is to be the Epson PowerLite 935W. Larger spaces or unique mounting situations might require a mutually agreed, by KVCC and vendor, Epson projector model specific to the situation. C.1.2.3Short‐ThrowProjectors

The location (room) where the projector is installed is required to have conduit running inside the wall to the presentation or instructor station in the same room. This conduit shall be 2” schedule 40 PVC stubbed out into the plenum space. The conduit shall end in a jackbox that will allow for installation of the Leviton Multimedia Outlet System (MOS) (see C.1.4.3) C.1.4Wiring

Four pair 100 Ohm UTP Category 6 CMP rated, blue in color. For further internal cabling specifications please

A minimum of one dedicated 15A, 110V AC duplex outlet mounted in the ceiling grid within 1 foot of the
projector.
Optimally, the electrical service is installed in one of the knockouts in
Epson False Ceiling Plate Kit (part number ELPMBP02). C.1.4.3A/VCabling
The College has adopted the use of Leviton Multimedia Outlet System (MOS) for audio/visual wiring between the projector and the presentation/instructor station. This system utilizes specific jacks on each end connected via CAT 5e. See the diagram below which outlines the specific types of jacks needed on both the presentation/instructor station and the projector‐side. Projector data cabling is from distribution point; presentation/instructor station will have a separate jackbox with two (2) data cables & coax installed into it. The projector‐side jacks should be installed into the Epson False Ceiling Plate Kit (see C.1.1) The maximum distance between both ends is 75 feet, measured in cable length Part numbers reflect base part number and not color specific part.
